Actually BIM on Jimmy Fallon made both the song and album shoot up the itunes chart. In Italy Devil Pray and Ghostown went number 1 and 2 on Itunes after her performance there. Ghostown even stayed in top 10 for a while.  The Iheart radio awards with Taylor made Ghostown rise up to the top 30 on itunes from oblivion. Also Ghostown got airplay because of it.

Performances definitely help when the alternative is not charting at all.

And imagine how much it would've helped had she uploaded them on her channel! I still cant believe BIM isnt on youtube!

Killers is my favorite. It's NOT the worst, this just shows how great of an album this is. The portuguese and brazilian influences on this one are aplenty, and I had chills throughout.

To me its the worst...doesnt go anywhere, trite lyrics...its just there for me. Unfortunate that it has such an awesome title that amounts to very little.

Guess I'm nobody then.  I've never used a streaming service, and I plan on buying Madame X in multiple physical formats.  I just don't find the same vibes from digital releases as having an album in front of you with the artwork and the full package.  Plus I don't ever have to worry about a computer crash or no Wi-Fi signal.

Correct. There's a reason why Rebel Heart was only #2. Things change. We as fans need to get with the times and its great you bought physical copies there's also a reason why there are diff versions...because no artist can depend one version of an album and streaming is what people are using now to chart.

  4. Everybody has gone crazy and overestimating a madonna leak less than a week before release.

    1)nobody buys cds anymore

2)nobody downloads mp3s anymore especially if they're not even casual fans since it takes up space and have to go through torrents or shady sites

    3)everyone streams

4)all the hostile reaction to people buying the album LEGALLY through a store is a turn off

Just stop relax and STREAM when its available on spotify or apple music. Don't be a baby cryer, dont harass fans, dont do the YOU'RE NOT A REAL FAN game.

  5. Ghosttown performances? Err...boring and no wonder the song flopped. Eurovision? It was just an off night and future for sure did not translate well to a live performance and shes performed LAP so many times that its only natural to compare it to a previous performance and that's why imo eurovision was meh. Express Yourself and I Rise would've been better choices. Quavo should be banned from television and music. Its very clear he just did it just to do it. Hope she does another performance before the tour that is shown on tv to show eurovision was just an off night and what shes truly capable of.

Exactly.  This "AL is a misunderstood masterpiece " crap came from I don't know where, I mean I have yet to read a reappraisal of that album from an IMPORTANT music critic that calls it an underrated masterpiece.  They still hate it or gloss over it, I have tons of Madonna retrospective magazines and books and they all have pages of critiques of all her albums and they all either bash or skip over the AL album quickly

Erotica and even Bedtime Stories, which is a great Album, gets more retro praise

AL will be her most forgotten album

I quite enjoy AL but never did i ever think fans would really change their tune over it.

No Ray of Light is, a brilliant, Beautiful, life affirming album of a woman at 40 who has just become a mother and trying to find her place in this universe.  Great vocals, songwriting, state of the art production etc

NONE of this is evident on AL, absolutely NONE of this

I do find it very odd its like people are re-writing history with AL. People were dragging her for that album and her persona at that time. It wasnt even hate, it was like oh she's so boring now. People were BEGGING for something bigger and better and people were SO happy when she came out with Confessions. I think people are saying great things about AL now as a response to Hard Candy MDNA and her collaborations. Plus was AL even a risk? Looking back on it, she worked on an entire album with a producer who gave her a #1 album, #1 single and top ten hits. Confessions was alot more riskier IMO since hiphop was the dominating genre. I still like AL tho but its very humorous to me how its all of a sudden her last real album.

  8. I would assume a greatest hits album would be a way to put out new material at a cheaper cost and guess what...could finally mean a full fledged greatest hits tour. JUST an idea so i dont want people say omg yes thats whats happening! But what if that blood moon film is actually a netflix doc about her life and celebrating her music and this greatest hits is meant to promote each other? What if she has been secretly writing her autobiography? Idk a greatest hits seems so random but at the same time makes sense. Idk especially since i get the impression madame x is the last album on her contract and she might want to take a loooong break before the next so a greatest hits can fill the gap. Idk....just a theory!

No, it goes further than that!

Edit: oh, my God, I'm going crazy, I was so sure this was from the AL era!

It does! I remember reading it on the mtribe forum but i thought it was from the confessions era along a "song" that was about a gay boy named billie that had everyone crying but would make u dance in a different way 😂😂😂 but maybe the phrase just keeps getting repeated.

Last time of decent mixes was for COADF.

I actually feel they were so bad! Especially for that album...maybe cuz the originals are dance already but idk. Hung Up had mixes that sucked out the life and fun disco. Sorry probably had the best mixes out of confessions. Get Together should've had trance mixed by Above & Beyond and Tiesto. Hard Candy i feel had amazing mixes.

are we talking about the interview where he asked about gaga?

ceith is a real fan, though I remember he used to be the type to put down madonna's talents or not be that nice sometimes in order to prove he's a "normal" (not blind) fan, which always annoyed me.

Oh no! Not Keith! I meant that guy who did that interview backstage at the 09 VMAs. He worked for Mtv news during that time and i remember him covering American idol and showed a recap and said Madonna was there as they showed an elderly lady in the idol audience. Then when Britney premiered the documentary he gave commentary and said one of the scary moments was Madonna appearing. He was VERY catty towards her.

Oh can t wait to listen to the whole song at this point ...intriguing

It's a bit of it so dont expect the song to sound like it's hyperballad pt 2 lol i honestly thought this was the Jeff bhasker song because it does sound very Lana musically just not depressing and then there is a bit of strings that sound hyperballad-esque

Knowing Starrah's work with The Weeknd, I can't just imagine it being a disco song............. :drama:

God, can't wait to hear it !! :tigger:

It could just be written with her and produced by Mirwais just like how It's So Cool was done with Mirwaus first then produced by Paul Oakenfold.
