  1. A Madonna party weekend is being planned for August 16-17 in Brisbane. If you join the Madonna's Sanctuary FB page you should automatically be on the invite list. The planned events sound absolutely amazing and include a viewing of an M film during the day on the 17th followed by dancing the night away to a purely M playlist.

I'm so excited and will definitely be going provided it doesn't clash with my plans to travel to Europe. I'm honestly more excited about this than Europe

I'm going to be there too :D if you don't know me on Facebook I'm Matt W Tyler :D

  2. I was op shopping the other day and found bedtime stories in mint condition for $2. The weird thing was the sticker on the front stated " featuring the four singles, S,TAB,BS & HN as heard on triple j.

Is this correct as I do not recall triple j ( australias largest alternative station) playing madonna, or just a typo?

    Cheers

Triple J played it to death and it's in the 1995 Hottest 100 as is Beautiful Stranger in 1999 - Triple J played it around the release of Take A Bow and Bedtime Story debuted at #5 mostly due to the confusion with Human Nature - the sticker is part of the second promo for BS which include the Ray Martin interview

  3. I wonder if I'm the only M fan that owns this on DVD, VHS and VCD and all remain unwatched since purchase as I saw this one as when I rented it on VHS, thought it was shit and never again - the same applies to Swept Away - she should have chosen better projects after Evita and well I loved W.E. so I'm happy she stepped behind the camera

  4. Does anyone remember the MTV commercial for Frozen? I recorded it and watched it a trizillion times before the debut. My God, she was EVERYTHING during this era. What other artist had COMMERCIALS for their video premieres? The world was so hungry for her return at this time. She delivered beyond belief....so epic.

    Never seen that, love it!

  5. Love

Die Another Day - everything, every remix, video, lyrics, single cover = flawless

Hollywood - video was cool and loved all the remixes

Nobody Knows Me - loved the remixes and the official montage remix video

W Magazine shoot - loved it

Nothing Fails - love this track, should have had a video

American Life - only liked the Directors Cut video and the Down Tempo remix

Xstatic Process - really liked this track

I'm So Stupid - only liked the abandoned studio version for RIT

    VMA's - loved this

    Not so good

American Life - everything else about this single - what a mess

The album - hated the cover and rarely listen to the tracks not mentioned above - just can't get into it and it's the only time it's happened

Remixed + Revisted - tacky cheap project

Me Against The Music - no

TRL with 50 Cent - no

  6. In a way it might have been a blessing for her not to tour Australia with MDNA. The album was #1 for one week and out of the Top 40 just 2 weeks later.

The issue after not touring for two decades would have been the total lack of hits. Papa Don't Preach, Express Yourself, Open Your Heart, Vogue and Like A Prayer would have been the only recogizable hits - Aussie fans would be expecting to see Frozen, Ray Of Light, Music, Don't Tell Me and other hits she's had in the past 20 years over MDNA songs they don't know, Celebration and Revolver were not hits here, Candy Shop is unknown and Like A Virgin and Hung Up were unrecognizable.

The thing is, any Australian M fans under say 33 years of age, have not seen her live unless they have travelled overseas, I was 16 last time I saw her live.

I've seen all her shows on DVD or youtube obviously and I love the MDNAtour but even I would expect Ray Of Light or Music.

M says she is bring 'the greatest show on earth" to Australia sometime in the future so hopefully she throws in some hits we haven't seen....and that includes Like A Prayer which among many of her 80's hits have not been performed in Australia. The only pre Erotica songs I've seen live are Everybody, Holiday, Like A Virgin. La Isla Bonita, Express Yourself, I'm Going Bananas, Vogue and Justify My Love - not many hey

    - your personal highlight: Transgression from what I saw on youtube

    - your personal experience of mdna tour: None - was planning on attending every Australian show and had saved most of 2011 based on Guy's "it will happen" tweet. Will never be stupid again. My heart broke when Australia was ditched for the 5th time in a row. Wish I saw the show, next tour flying to London.

  8. The tour was great from what I could see in videos, even I know she needs a break after this and I guess I'd be more upset if she cancelled the Australian shows at this point rather than in the messy July/August debacle.

I'd rather see her early in the tour than at the end and for that reason her next tour should work it's way back eg: Australia - Japan - South America - North America and then Europe - and also less shows in Europe where the market has been saturated.

  9. So many fucking dickheads in this thread. Honestly, I have never heard people blow something so out of proportion.

She is sick in her LUNGS. She asked the guy to stop smoking, he refused, she got pissed off. End of story. Fuck me.

She is sick, it was horrible weather. She cancelled the most strenuous section of the tour. End of story.

Some people are having the biggest fucking cry about this. At least she went out and tried to do her best while she is obviously very ill. It is fans choices to wait for hours, it is fans choices to pay the money for the concert. Madonna didn't force anyone. She makes art, she puts products out, she tours and if people pay for them that is THEIR CHOICE.

I'm sure she is extremely grateful for people that do CHOOSE to pay but that doesn't mean she can or has to be perfect 100% of the time. She is fucking sick. She is a human being. I can't believe how quickly people, her own FANS judge her and turn on her because of something silly as this.

I'm sure they'll all listen to her next album and love it, purchase her shit, go to her next tour. NEEEEEEXT

+1 - I'd be happy to have seen that show
