Actually I think the work with Britney damaged her image/legacy rather than be of any help. MATM was far from any success everywhere. The VMA with Britney was drawing attention to Madonna, but not to her music.

It showed her in unflattering light and as "uncool" and trying to attach herself to a young hip trashy girl (beyond her level). I think Madonna and Stuart Price introduced Madonna to a new generation via COADF. Even with 0 radio support in USA, COADF was a huge undeniable success, even in dear old USA. It was that good. It was glorious time to be a fan in Europe. Felt like a second Ray Of Light, almost. And it had 0 to do with Britney. It was all tnx to Madonna, Stuart and arguably, ABBA :).

btw. Remember when Pharrel said that he wanted Madonna to work with Daft Punk? But i think they refused (why tho?). I think that Hard Candy should have been a funky album (she kinda did it with She's Not Me).  That genre become really popular in 2012-2015. That was the natural evolution from Confessions like Music was the bridge between ROL and AL.

Imagine a song with them :drama:

Moby was a bit of a fad so I don’t rate him nowhere as high as Pet Shop Boys collab or the other artists I mentioned. I always felt like M is a timeless artist and it always felt like she was trashing her legacy when collaborating with artists like Britney or Minaj. I always thought a collaboration with Morcheeba or another Massive Attack one would have been amazing. I want you was great, even if a non success...

But he was on his peak at the moment. So we'll never know.

I'm happy with her work with Britney. It's one of her most iconic moments and introduced her to a new generation. Probably the last generation that gave her attention.

Definitely. I much prefer that follow up to Confessions to have been an album produced by them and Stuart as it was rumored heavily, before t and t got involved:(

i read that they did songs for her back in 2007 but the direction changed and she decided to focus on that r&b/hip hop style. Same happened with Mirwais who said that his songs were scrapped i think

EDIT: oh i forgot about Moby. He said he didn't have time to work with her. That would have been interesting but we had Music instead which give us Mirwais productions so i think we are ok lol

We should spam Madonna, Guy Oseary and LAUREN D'ELIA (her vocal producer)'s Instagram informing Madonna that Migos is homophobic. I think this is a matter of Madonna not being informed. If she knew, I don't believe she would work with them.

https://www.instagram.com/laurendelia/?hl=en is Lauren's instagram!!!!! SPAM AWAY!!!

you're gonna get blocked. So no. I find that annoying and Lauren doesn't have anything to do with the artistic direction of the album.
People already dragged her because of that on her post and she always reads the comments so there is no need

Its astonishing how great Madonna is and how horrible all her choices of collaborators have been. Its absolutely shocking. Miley doesn't make an exception. The only credible collaboration has been Bedtime Story. The artists I think she would have sounded great with (stylistically, musically etc.) are MJ,  Depeche Mode, George Michael.

do we count Pet Shop Boys one of them?

I like the title Magic because it's in the same vein as ROL and COADF in the image left in your mind - something colorful, transcendental, magical. For the gays, maybe? It's certainly a better indication of the album's sound than MDNA and Rebel Heart.

I can't at some people calling "Magic" too simple when she literally had an album named "Music" lol

You have to be very sure about your album to call it Music. She was and she delivered. Queen

I think if this album is called magic, it will be a dark kind of magic. All those witches references...

pretty sure magic was just referring to the chemistry she has with Mirwais

Magic as an album title took on a life of its own like a manic episode lol

I think this too. I hope that is the case because Magic as album name sounds cold. She has been always great picking albums names.

I agree but let's take Ghosttown as an example, it had that beautiful song/video combo and we know how that turned out. I think we need more than that.

an album highlight, yes... but nothing mindblowing and the video doesn't have a replay value. Let's be honest.

If you want a hit, the single has to be FRESH AND CATCHY like Music, Hung Up or 4 Minutes. If not, you need big fanbase to push it. That is why Bitch I'm Madonna got more attention that the other two. She got the attention of others fanbases with the video and was the more "fresh" song on Rebel Heart.

Dark Horse is another perfect example of a real hit. That song wasn't intended to be a single but it went straight to the number 1 anyway. It sounds like a hit. The lyrics are great, the production is still fresh, the radios picked the song without any push from Katy's team.

Look What You Made Me Do by Taylor Swift is a terrible song. So tuneless but it was n1 on Billboard. Why? Because she has a lot of fans and because that video was AMAZING. +40 million views the first day. It was so well done.

Sorry by Bieber too. Started a whole trend back then.

If the song is destined to be a success, it will be.

How can madonna have a big hit again? Seriously.

First she has to have a great song (not that all the numbers one's are such huge masterpieces)

    But then?

    Selling the song?

    Views on youtube?

    Streaming?

    How can we help??

payola on radios and spotify like i said weeks ago. A HUGE production for the music video with replay value can help too.

Besides Starrah, Billboard and Mirwais im sure there are more people involved.

She said she was with "amazing songwriters" or something like that in march. Starrah wasn't there and we don't who they are yet. So yeah...
