Good call out peter! I didn't even think about that but you're right, it could very well be related to the film or at least inspired by that story.

It's always been a dream of mine for her to do an all visual album where the videos sort of bleed together telling a story......yet they could also be watched separately and be effective. I feel like an instrumental track would work really well in that sort of context. Imagine if the HU/Sorry "stories" had been more fully realized, COADF would've been perfect as a visual album!!

I wouldn't want a visual album from her, with a video for each song
I fell like in the past one of Madonna's strenghts was that she would always choose quality over quantity and she would be very selective in her artistic outcome
not a lot of tracks on the album,  not a lot of bsides, videos, compilations etc... I always thought that made the released stuff much more sharp and impactful

I wasn't crazy about the overabundance of tracks for Rebel Heart as I feel when it's too much, it sort of looses impact IMO

  2. How could she not know? C'mon....
I think she just likes his music and is interested in his performances, and whatever he said or might have said against the LGBT community is not something she necessarily agrees with but doesn't make his art any the less interesting to her

Having said that, this kind of music I don't particularly enjoy so I hope she stays away from it as far as the new album goes  (but it's just a matter of personal taste, nothing to do with racism)

A few days ago, Madonna was at the Atlântico Blue studios in Paço de Arcos, Lisbon, apparently working on her next album with Portuguese singer Dino D'Santiago and Guinean singer Kimi Djabaté, musicians with whom she had met several times in Alfama, in Lisbon night raids .
After sharing a few recordings of these meetings, Madonna has now shown to her followers of Instagram videos where she appears to dance with a group of ladies from Cape Verde.
"Dancing with the batukaderas of Cape Verde," she said.
In one of the videos, one of the dancers wishes Madonna, in Portuguese, "health, luck and happiness".

The Atlântico Blue are a complex several rooms, between studios and complementary areas, designed to concentrate in the same place all the steps of recording an album. Remember that Madonna is preparing the successor of Rebel Heart, knowing already the title of a single, 'Beautiful Game', and the producer, Mirwais.
Dino D'Santiago's music, revealed by the talent show "Operação Triunfo", went through hip-hop and today retains a strong imprint of Cape Verdean heritage. In Kimi Djabaté, born in Guiné-Bissau but headquartered in Lisbon, the coordinates are the blues and the afro-beat. The musician born 43 years ago in Tabato sings, plays guitar, balafón (a xylophone) and kora.

In resume, the studio where she's at have all the stuff needed to record and finish an album (tracking, mixing, mastering, etc). So maybe she's close to finishing it.

Great! So all we have to do now is keep Demo on the other side of the Atlantic

In her instagram she is referencing a wonderful poem by Mary Oliver called "When Death Comes"

    When Death Comes

    When death comes
    like the hungry bear in autumn;
when death comes and takes all the bright coins from his purse

    to buy me, and snaps the purse shut;
    when death comes
    like the measle-pox

    when death comes
like an iceberg between the shoulder blades,

I want to step through the door full of curiosity, wondering:
what is it going to be like, that cottage of darkness?

And therefore I look upon everything
as a brotherhood and a sisterhood,
and I look upon time as no more than an idea,
and I consider eternity as another possibility,

and I think of each life as a flower, as common
as a field daisy, and as singular,

and each name a comfortable music in the mouth,
tending, as all music does, toward silence,

and each body a lion of courage, and something
    precious to the earth.

When it's over, I want to say all my life
I was a bride married to amazement.
I was the bridegroom, taking the world into my arms.

When it's over, I don't want to wonder
if I have made of my life something particular, and real.

I don't want to find myself sighing and frightened,
    or full of argument.

I don't want to end up simply having visited this world.

    -Mary Oliver

    thanks for this

takes me back to her referencing Walt Whitman in "Sanctuary"

:inlove: Thank you for sharing. Could not find it. WOW, LOVE this sound.  Portuguese and African bits.

I read somewhere months ago that the album is to be a cross between Bedtime Stories and Ray of Light. I can see similarities in this song sound to Bedtime, and I bet the lyrics will match the complexity of Ray of Light.

I can see this sound having some similarities also with Best Night, which is awesome because I love it

Iconic had such a huge potential but the way her vocals are mixed it’s a disaster. I hope Mirwais pointed these things out to her, unlike the ignorant Oseary, and now they’ll actually make her sound like her real self!

I don’t think she needs anyone to even point that out to her, she’s probably aware of the mixing issues

Still, I do consider Mirwais some sort of quality control guarantee

  7. This album will NOT have the mixing issues that some tracks on RH had, first of all because Mirwais and the people she’s working with are doing their job and not running around the globe doing other things and leaving the mixing to M. herself, and second because (hopefully) there will be no leaks or rush-release situation

So I’m pretty confident the quality will be top notch Madonna level

But what role does he play...producer of whole project or just a couple of tracks, perhaps his output has been scrapped? You never know with M...the longer she lingers on a project...remember Leonard and Ray Of Light?

I doubt his work has been scrapped since she hashtagged him constantly in her instagram posts with very positive comments/tags

not really sure why people here say that about that particular one when there's so much worse. at least he knows how to work with photoshop. it's one of the few decent ones compared to the other absolute SHIT work which some people deem "acceptable" ?

I don't know there's something so weird about the misplaced face against the hideous hairdo.... lol Others are just bad, this one is bad and funny at the same time lol
