OK, just heard it. I like it! It's not as good as I Rise but I like it more than Medellin.

The production is sublime and is classic Mirwais and Madonna. Giving me all the nostalgia back when I first heard what they created on Music.
Mirwais had nothing to do with I Rise. But I agree, the production is amazing.

Why is everyone so obsessed with this supposed disco song?
I know. Disco is the last thing I want from Madonna at this point.

I've only heard a short clip but I really liked it. Waiting till Friday to hear the whole song.

Can’t wait to hear it!

There seems to be a divide. Do those who prefer Medellin prefer like a prayer, those who prefer Ray of light prefer I rise
I prefer LAP & I Rise. Sorry to bust your theory.

Excellent.

I’ve only listened to Medellin a handful of times, while I Rise has been playing pretty much nonstop. I love everything about it.

I can’t believe she remembered that random line from Rescue Me. Maybe she secretly likes it.

I've only heard it once and I must say I'm not loving it. It's ok but feels like an album track with similar theme to survival.
Well, it is an album track...

She always looks stunning with dark hair.

I fucking love this song! So much better than Medellin.

Great performance! She seemed to be genuinely having fun.

I love the single cover! Hopefully it’s official.

I still stand by MDNA being a solid pop album with some great songs...but Rebel Heart was, no doubt, a labor of love. You just don't make that many demos, and work for that long...let alone put out what is akin to essentially a double album... without having your heart and soul in the process and the work (no matter how hard it was). Sadly, the final work never had a fair shot. But I will ALWAYS stand by Rebel Heart being in the upper tier of M's body of work. The fact that a project of that size came nearly 3+ decades into a career says even more about what kind of artist she is.
This. I love Rebel Heart.

Easily her best video since the AL era. Love it!

I'm really sorry guys. I didn't intend to cause trouble here or make anyone upset. I just offered my opinion based on what someone else said. I never said Madonna and Graham never met. I just thought maybe the story was a bit embellished. I'll go now!!
No need to apologize. M has “embellished” things before so it’s not completely out of the realms of possibility that she would do it again. But I’m gonna her take her word for it.

I'm starting to like it more and more. It's one of those songs that need to be listened to with headphones.

I can imagine Mirwais re-working “Back That Up,” which was already an innovative type of track — unfinished lines that have their blanks filled in later ... very Mirwais-ish. Do you know what I mean? Compare opening verse of “Die Another Day” — “I’m gonna kiss some part of” — with “Back That Up” where many of the lines end with “of” on the first time they’re sung. Later they are inserted: (fun) (drum) (gun) (one) ... if I’m remembering it right. Would have to listen to it again.
Of the Pharrell outtakes from RH recording sessions, I’m kind of surprised she didn’t pick “Take It Back” to re-furbish for this project. Sounds a little more disco to me, and it has a mention of “Mercury in retrograde” which she continues to mention on IG from time to time.
”Take a Day” (the third Pharrell demo we haven’t mentioned yet) was a very peculiar sound — almost throwback, vintage. But I feel like that escapist vibe is in the DNA of Medellín, and the repeated “Ven” echoes that ricochet through the cha-cha breakdown section recall the “bang bang”s from “Take a Day” (to me), too. It’s funny — someone else here mentioned the “bang”s in his review and I wanted to post and say it is probably “ven” but I thought it was “bang” at first, too, and it reminded me of “Take a Day.” Also, perhaps less so, the original (more Mika sounding) pre-“Gang Bang” demo “Bang Bang Boom.”
Too bad she didn't choose to rework Never Let You Go. That's easily my favorite unreleased song from RH.

I would like some ballads too. They were the highlight on the last two albums for me.
This. Her ballads are always flawless.
