  1. There was Madonna-drama during La Isla Bonita. I was on the right side of the heart stage and these two women were trying to "get to their seat" (uh-huh) - conveniently they said their seats were located by the heart but they couldn't get to them by walking by the heart because where I was and around me, there was no aisle between the heart and the seats and they refused to use the proper aisle (on the other side away from the heart). Security got involved, and another gentleman wearing a top hat (who was quite loud) was instructed to go back to his seat. And others who crashed the heart but didn't have tickets beside it were told to go back to their seat. Things cooled down after that.

As much as I loved being on the floor, it got a little territorial at times. And very testy. It put a little bit of a damper during the Spanish/flamenco section.

It was an amazing show. I thought both nights were very special. Hearing Ghosttown in a concert venue just reminds me that it really is a song that should have been a huge #1 worldwide smash for her. It stood up against some of her best material.

The Unapologetic Bitch was ADORABLE. And sexy, too.

    Madonna looked and sounded beautiful.

  2. The S.E.X. interlude is one of her most boring but Messiah and especially Illuminati were stunning.

Agree with shams that the second night of Reinvention was incredible. The audience went crazy.

There are still lots of seats tonight. My friend was upgraded from 102 to the floor by the mix.

  3. I think tomorrow (tonight's) gig will go better. But I don't think the crowd was that bad. She was super chatty but she did kept saying we're shy. But I do think that is a fair assessment of Toronto. But we were having fun!

The second act was definitely my favourite. A great mix of classics and Rebel Heart songs. And great use of all the stages.

    I didn't recognize Nelly Furtado!

  4. So my friend texted me today saying her male friend surprised her by buying her a ticket for the 6th. They are in level 102 and they were $90 and not $350 and apparently there was a glitch on Ticketmaster as showing the price as $90 each but should have been $350 each. This was corrected and the tickets in that area went back to $350 (thought he got his for $90 each).

I'm wondering if the (generous, thoughtful) friend was lying to not make her feel guilty that he spent that much on tickets or, indeed, there was a glitch. Anyone hear anything about this? If true, nice score!

  5. The ACC is actually a very good venue. The 100s are fine and with the long catwalk, I'm sure they will be even better this time. I saw S&S from the last row of the 100s and it was still good.

Thank goodness she is not playing Rogers Centre (a.k.a. Skydome). An awful venue with horrible views and muddy sound.

  6. This is why I've always respected someone like Liz Smith. Through good or bad, she always supported Madonna unlike these two-faced hosts on the Talk/View/Whatever. They all talk shit about her during their coffee talks and love to kick her when she's down but when she's on their show, they know there is interest and people will be watching for Madonna not them so they fawn over her. I'm sure Madonna would love nothing more than to roll her eyes at them.

Just shows you what a professional Madonna is.

  7. I am a little surprised the sales for the second show have been soft, to say the least. Toronto has usually been a good market for her, and remember we didn't get Drowned World or Confessions so we like it when she visits. MDNA was generally well received here, too.

I am sure the shows will sell out by next Monday. The buzz and word of mouth been really strong for this tour.

  8. The video is partly inspired by the book/film Looking for Mr. Goodbar starring Diane Keaton and Richard Gere. It's a rather grim tale of a woman (Keaton) who frequents bars at night and takes strangers home. There are no angels in it but it has a downer of an ending.

  9. It would be great to have someone like Tom Parker who recently oversaw the Bananarama reissues for Edsel (they were fantastic and the most recent addition was a mammoth singles set).

I think True Blue would be a perfect way to start even though it's out of order. The 30th anniversary is approaching and it has the perfect amount of singles and videos and Herb Ritts' gorgeous photos to come up with a stunning box set (they could even include the Who's That Girl songs).
