yea but I rather just have good songs 😉 she and her manager need to learn that good music will sell. snot who she worked with. in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if specifically the older people aren't quickly gonna believe an album truly is good if the first songs they heard were just "so so", or the future song

It will? Based on what? lol

A lot of people like the songs released so far, especially Medellin and Crave, which have been chosen as the first two singles. And these (few) people who are suggesting that there are some of the best tracks still to be heard aren't saying "the album is brilliant except for the four so-so songs released," I'm pretty positive these people like the first 4 songs as well.

SO this will be the first full Mirways track right??

Yes, in terms of both writing and production, this is just Madonna and Mirwais. There are five such tracks on Madame X: Dark Ballet, God Control, Killers Who Are Partying, Extreme Occident, and I Don't Search I Find (six if you include Batuka where David has a writing credit).

I think the focus now will be on Crave not future.

The offcial radio impact date is this Monday so I expect the video to be out next week to support it.

I can see Madonna performing and promoting Crave as it has been billed as the offcial 2nd single.

The slight upside (hey, got to be positive!) of the negative reaction to Eurovision is that I think Crave can proceed as the clear second single without confusion. If it had all gone over better there might have been confusion about Future v. Crave.

My guess would be that if Madonna does talk shows with performance around the album release, Crave will be the song she performs.

    What's next beautiful M fans ?

We have a whole month before Madame X drops there must be a reason why M chose a month to release following the massive exposure of Eurovision.

What has she got up her sleeve ?

TV spots in America and Europe to promote ? The music video for Crave? A video for Dark Ballet? Will we finally see the theatre video with the queens ? Will she be revealed as this years gay pride headliner ? Is there a documentary on its way on Netflix? Anymore magazine covers for this era ?

One things for sure this era has only just got started. Exciting times ahead ......

At a complete minimum we have the Crave music video soon and Dark Ballet out on June 7. I'd guess more traditional promo (talkshows, a performance or two) around the album release.

Madonna should have known that everyone in the audience knows the disputes in the Middle East. That's why they wanted to celebrate and enjoy a time without war and violence together - and without pictures of violence and gas masks.

But they don't deserve to shut their eyes? That's the point, no? You don't get to just pretend it doesn't exist when you're at a huge party not far where people are kept in camps as second class (non) citizens.

But there is nothing political about the song. Was Quavo in LA during shooting?

There's nothing political about the song? What do you think this song is about?

The snippets we've seen from the Eurovision rehearsals also make it seem like she's taking the performance to a political place.

Literally nothing except a couple of lyrics for God Control and Batuka quoted in the British Vogue article.

I believe some “insider” mentioned God Control being a dance song, but I tend to take these people with a grain of salt.

Some people claim the snippet in the album trailer video is Extreme Occident and that might be accurate but I can’t pinpoint why that took hold as fact. Also she quoted some lyrics from that song in her Glaad speech. Some people think there are snippets from two songs featured in the trailer.

Basically we know nothing which I find to be a wonderful thing indeed!

This comes from the fact that if you Shazam the trailer it comes up as Extreme Occident. And then the lyrics from that clip and the ones she quoted in her GLAAD speech seem to fit together.

  8. I love some of the lyrics in this!

I told you not to waste your time
I'm not a girl you drink like wine
If you press pause then I'll retreat
I will not grovel at your feet
Please don't fall in love with me
I would rather be set free
I can not give you my all
I will not make my self small

    That's gold

  9. I feel like this might be the most Madame X-y track yet! The influence isn't latin, but we have the world music piece with the dancehall elements. And then really for the first time in the four tracks so far, we get some political themes. I get why sonically some people think this isn't the best fit for Eurovision, but it definitely allows her to make a statement in a way that I'm excited about.

I predict God Control/Future/Batuka to be a really amazing political, world beat crescendo!

    dancing ? which dancing ?

i am fed up with her not hiring a proper choreograph to find some real dancing for her videos... yet she has amazing choreographers for her tours but when was the last ltime she really danced in one of her videos ?

she looks beautiful and her face almost looks like the "like a virgin" cover...

anyway, encore one lazy video - a non event.

    😞

In what universe are you posting the link again thinking that it's ok?

Given how little time she’s had to rehearse and being the perfectionist that she is, I’m relieved she’s going to do a rehash of the metgala, which she must’ve rehearsed to death. Plus Future, of course.

The metgala got almost unanimous praise, but for the GP it was a non-event, wasn’t it? So imagine that, on a larger stage, watched by 200m people!!!

We don't know whether she's been rehearsing for months or not, and the metgala was a full year ago.

    She'll probably do :

    Medellin

    Crave

    Future &

    LAP

    If she has 15 mins

If she really has 15 mins she could even do Medellin, Crave, Future, LAP, and another additional classic (Music? Hung Up?) given that it's common to shorten the songs in this type of setting (like the Superbowl).

This is spot on, people on this forum have a hard time ever admitting she does anything wrong... This is one of those issues that's going to be looked on incredibly negatively in her career for years to come and one that completely contradicts her whole "standing up for the disenfranchised" messaging. She's a smart woman who knows exactly what's happening in the area and her refusal to see her wrongdoings here is incredibly disappointing but I guess some increased exposure for new music and an extra million dollars in her pocket is worth the terrible judgement.

I'm curious to see what exactly she does.

There are various ways to approach this. For example, the Icelandic entry is very political and see performing as an opportunity to shine light in some way on anti-fascism v. not performing at all. I think both that approach and boycotting are valid. I just would hope that Madonna makes some kind of clear statement. Denouncing violence and advocating for peace is good, but it risks falling into 'both sides' messaging. One side is occupying the other, one side is carrying out an apartheid.
