  1. I like charts and statistics and things, but I try to not place much meaning in them.

Of course, I would rather Madonna do well than not, but its not really essential at this stage of her career or in the current state of the music industry ("singles" are at their least relevant in a very long time). When looking at the total package (including not only singles and albums but touring, media coverage, etc.), she is still a major popular artist.

And as others have said, we are very used to this in the US, so nothing about LFL's chart performance is shocking to me in the least.

  2. Its not going to be a massive delay! Its getting officially sent to radio March 13 and then the video in early April. That's about 3 or at most 4 weeks. That's very normal. And there be many live performances on youtube (Jonathan Ross, Che Temp Che Fa, Le Grand Journal, Ellen) to hold people over in the mean time.

  3. Yes, DrownedMadonna has reported that "Ghosttown" will go to radio on 13 March.

MadonnaTribe previously reported that the video would be released in early April, but that the song would impact radio much sooner.

For me, this timing works quite well. Hopefully the initial push in March gets some traction and then the video will provide a second wind.

  4. Has she ever done a doubleA side? Has anyone? Imagine a GhostTown and JoanOf Arc single release, with videos even. No way that won't be her next top 10 hit everywhere. I already sent Guy a tweet asking and begging for this miracle. even if not the videos, but atleast both songs. We have so many songs on this album. Brilliant songs. They must not get lost. People must hear that this is not MDNA or hardCandy. Madonna is back to the Madonna everyone loves in so many tracks.

A double-A side would be very difficult to pull of in the digital era. In fact, a double-A side proper is probably impossible. So the two songs would just chart separately and split what ever support Madonna has. Some artists like Nicki Minaj release different singles to the urban and pop markets but that's because the perceived overlap is minimal. Both Ghosttown and JOA appeal to same Adult Contemporary type of audience. Better to save Joan for a single later on

  5. Drawing a comparison is not saying things are the same. I'm sure Madonna understands that France today isn't particularly like Nazi Germany, but rather the rising intolerance brings Nazi Germany to mind.

France has a deep, complex relationship with antisemitism. A recent actually showed anti-Jewish sentiment in the rise in Europehttp://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2015/02/26/389250366/pew-study-on-religion-finds-increased-harassment-of-jews. Europe as whole is dealing with Islamophobia. It's a very complex time

  6. There are so many good songs that could be released as singles, but what's the point if she can't even enter the official charts of any country around the world? It feeds the haters. It's really upsetting they do nothing to push her music.

    1) Never worry about the haters 2) Times have changed and there is a point! Singles and videos can sell the album even without "hit singles" (see Lana Del Rey in the US, even Bayonce is sort of an example of this)
