  1. One of the best songs on the record. The vocal delivery is one of her best!

It's such a strong track with a perfect arrangement.

Btw did you notice that the repetition of the second thorus has been chopped when you compare it with the demo?

You can even hear her sing "and" around the 3:00-minute mark, but then it's cut. :D

  2. Does anyone hear mixing issues during 1:51 (I light a candle...)? That part sounds fuzzy and it's due to overamplification. At first I thought it was my earphones being faulty but then I played it out loud and I still hear the error.

Yes, it's there. :( Such a gorgeous song though. I guess I'll replace that part with the demo vocals. :D

  3. Does the album mix include the proper orchestral instrumentation or did they use a synth for the album version like with Masterpiece?

    It includes real orchestral instrumentation.

Btw does anyone else hear the distortion at the beginning of the 2nd chorus during "I light a candle..." or is it just my copy?

  4. I love this version and I don't mind the fact that the Avicii demo got reworked. This one is much more timeless.

Love how the instrumentation gets fuller with each repetition of the chorus.

The distorted sound of the drums sounds quite good as well. Imo it's an intentional production choice and not a mistake. Same as for "Voices" on Hard Candy.

  5. Had to get used to the upbeat parts after I heard the demo and I still have a few issues with the beat, but of course it's a gorgeous song.

However, I wonder why her voice sounds so distorted in some parts, for example when she starts the chorus with "I light a candle...". The mastering is quite bad. :(

  6. That's the weird thing. The standard should have the poppy songs and mid temp ballads, including Rebel Heart, Wash All Over Me, Beautiful Scars, Addicted...

In fact, it would be really great to listen to the standard just to remember that old-school True Blue Madonna (I don't know why, but this album reminds me a lot to the True Blue spirit, with White Heat, Live To Tell, Open You Heart... now we have Beautiful Scars, Hold Tight, Living For Love, Joan of Arc, Rebel Heart...).

Then the Deluxe should have some other songs. And the SuperDeluxe should have SEX, Holy Water and Bitch I'm Madonna...

That's exactly how it should be! It doesn't make sense the way they planned this and it's a shame, because there's really enough material to make perfect tracklists for all 3 versions!

  7. I love that we get so many tracks, but when you look at the covers you would assume that the "standard" version with its smiling Madonna is the tame edition, yet it contains all but one explicit tracks.

The seemingly raunchy Super Deluxe Edition on the other hand doesn't even have more explicit tracks on it than the Deluxe Edition. That's weird, isn't it? :D
