Such an overlooked gem!
I especially love the middle part when it speeds up and how the arrangement gets fuller and fuller until it leads into the last part where it slows down again and unfolds itself in all its glory.

The album version is completely stripped off strings unlike Demo 2 which is full on dramatic orchestration
But there ARE plenty of real strings in the album version, while some of the later demos had synthesized strings. Thank god they combined it the way they did.

I really prefer the final production, but I wish she kept in some of the additional "oh hoooold tiiiight" vocals in it, because it would sound less repetitive.

This song is a real masterpiece. At first I prefered the orchestral demo, but the final version combines all the elements perfectly.
I wish the distortion wasn't there, because it takes away from the listening experience and destroys her wonderful "I light a candle" vocals, but we can't change that...

They should release some "alternate" or "final" mixes as b-sides. I mean, why not?

I wonder why they couldn't include/replace the "early version" with his final mix. There were almost 4 months in between.

This one is filmed from the crowd but it has good quality in sound and picture. It's the whole thing. I love the man behind camera laughing in the end: "Oh Shit! What the fuck just happened!?"
I think it was Drake who said that, right? It's on the official recording as well.

The album version is really much more timeless and even energetic.
I love all versions, but at first I thought the album version lacked the anthemic sound and I was somehow irritated that she decided to release a version that sounded "less produced" than the demo we first got.
So, I think the song shines more in its final incarnation. It has a great build-up, I even like the distorted drums and it sounds fresh and warm, while I suddenly feel that the Avicii demo already sounds dated and doesn't have a very interesting production. The verses certainly sound more diverse on the album.
