Not sure about indie....however, I have always thought of Madonna as the most experimental mainstream big artist!

Obviouslly you know nothing u talk about. Madge was deemed and seen as "uncool" in 1992 1993 1994 1995. It was only when she played Evita and ROL came out that the tide changed. 90ties were not comfort years. She was artistically on top but not commercially (in a way) and the public was saying the same thing they do know. She was old grandma past it should hang it up every fucking year since 1992
I do not agree with that, while she was not at her commercial peak she was still doing pretty good, she was listed in billboard as one of the top 10 acts of the 90s still. Still scoring plenty of hit songs as well. No one can keep having albums sell 8 and 10 million forever, she settled into a pretty good range of commercial success. Either way after the early 00s she was pushing 50 so what does anyone expect.

It was a stunt that wasn't even broadcast on television. It'll live on through pics and gifs but no one will care. And some UK morning show with callers saying she's gross is nothing new and those ppl aren't buying Madonna tickets or albums anyway.
I said it before and I'll say it again: if you're a Madonna fan you gotta toughen up. We are worshipping the most polarizing pop icon in history. it's fair if you weren't a fan of the Drake stunt, but you panicking becuz some housewives with no lives call into a morning show to say they don't like it... Girl you gotta get it together.
Wow…give it a rest already…do you have to address every poster? People react differently to things and it has nothing to do with toughness…Im quite sure Nikki and everyone else is still getting their 8 hours sleep and not calling in sick and even having a few laughs. Those who deal with things or react different are not suffering. Your need along with a few others on this board to regulate people is so fucking absurd!

Wow.....I'm in shock after reading through these threads. Seriously.....wtf has happened to the world?? My first thought after watching the video was that he's in shock and his comment + giddiness immediately after confirmed that. With that said, looking at pics of it, I can see why some interpreted it the way they did and some fans didn't like the negative connotation, that is understandable. My concern is the complete and total disregard of the facts by not just the press (that's to be expected) but people in general. Drake has now made three comments regarding the misinterpretation and people STILL go on about it like he's lying or like he never said anything at all. What in the actual fuck?? Seriously. Based on the video *I* watched I don't feel an explanation was really necessary. I really really mean no disrespect toward anyone, in fact this is more directed at media but when did people become so fucking dumb?? The man was laying there, allowing her to shove her tongue in his throat and he was trying to caress her hair. Did he need to bend her over the chair, plunge it in and speak into the mic about how great it feels and smells for people to know he enjoyed it?? Lol It seems like that's what things are coming to. Everything has to be so painfully obvious to be understood. It's just strange to me.

Some people are not very observant at all….until he says something you do not know what the look was for, you are assuming. I will say that you do not need to kiss someone that long to find out your disgusted. Obviously something happened toward the very end of the kiss and we can speculate, but being grossed out would have caused someone to have a more instant reaction and they certainly would not have pulled the other person closer by grabbing the back of their head.
The press just want to further their agenda into making nothing into something, and the general public is just bothered because their prudes so they want to believe Drake was a innocent victim. Im sure everyone will eventually hear the answer at some point because you know someone will ask him in a interview at some point just like they asked M about Born This Way!
At the end of the day it was another fun surprise and I hope the era continues to have them!

Yeah , she was not there to promote her album or music…she was there to support Drake because of his song that mentions her and Im sure she just wanted to have fun with her flirtation with him from before!
It was not meant to be a serious performance at all.

I don't think it was about the performance…Madonna intended it to just be a fun little tongue and cheek cameo cougar striptease. It never struck me as being a serious performance.

The press's reaction is not about the kiss. No one is worried about just press reaction. Several people including myself have continued to say it was not comments or the press in general…it was the fictitious narrative about Drakes disgust. Either way its done and over.

This. Madonna is a SEX ICON and I hate to see a guy embarrass the shit out of her on stage making her look like she's physically repulsive, perpetuating some kind of idea that she must be disgusting to be with. She never had something like that happen to her and with a guy, ever. People were always ruthless towards her for one reason or another, but this adds so much fuel to the fire.
And I'm LOVING this era and enjoying every single moment, doesn't mean anything is ruined for me. It's just a discussion.
Exactly how I feel, her other negative press just furthered her bad ass persona and she had the laugh last. People somehow twisting this into her being a bad smelling old hag who dentures may have fallen out during the kiss and is repulsive is not really quite the same category LOL.
However, I loved that she showed up and did her thing and I know what is being reported is not what went down because I have eyes. So nothing ruined for me other than me not liking to read bullshit articles about Madonna or anything else for that matter.

The reason people are telling you to calm down is becuz you're letting the press/social media ruin your experiences. If you just took a minute to laugh it off (which, btw, is what the press is essentially doing even if its negative).. you'd see that next week Madonna is going to do SOMETHING ELSE, a performance or whatever, and people will move on to her next stunt. This is how she works.
I think the instagram scandals and the Brit Awards fall should have taught us a lot by this point, but people are still getting stressed out over this stuff. It's going to drive you crazy, like I keep saying.

I appreciate the sentiment but this is exactly my point....i am not taking it personally, it wasn't me up there! I think i speak for everyone who feels badly about this episode when i say that no ones health is going to ruined by Coachella or the aftermath and we are fully aware of that.
There is a visual being created where we are all running round like headless chickens, anxiously clutching our hankies, its obsurd.
