BEST BEST BEST reinvention of a Madonna song on a tour. I was obsessed with this forever....especially the last minute....gives me life. "when you kiss me, and touch me...."
-
1. Living For Love [9]
2. Devil Pray [8]
3. Ghosttown [7]
4. Unapologetic Bitch [7]
5. Illuminati [4]
6. Bitch, I'm Madonna [5]
7. Hold Tight [5]
8. Joan of Arc [10] - IM torn! The album version is my least favorite. The beat sounds too garageband amateur. I wish she had put the accoustic one. Significantly more impactful. Nonetheless Im so happy i have 3 versions of this song to listen to.
9. Iconic [7]
10. HeartBreakCity [11]
11. Body Shop [6]
12. Holy Water [7]
13. Inside Out [10]
14. Wash All Over Me [7]
15. Best Night [11]
16. Veni, Vedi, Vici [10]
17. S.E.X. [7]
18. Messiah [7]
19. Rebel Heart [9]
20. Beautiful Scars [8]
21. Borrowed Time [8]
22. Addicted [6]
23. Graffiti Heart [9]
If you want to rank the demos:
24. Queen - 10
25. Autotune Baby - 7
Rated SOME of the Demos:
28. Heaven - 11
30. Two Steps Behind - 9
33. God Is Love - 8
35. Score - 9
39. Back That Up - 11

Wow, thats very generous! I dont think all of the tracks you chose should/could be singles. Of your selections I think the following should be released:
BIM
Unapologetic Bitch
Inside Out
Rebel HeartAND heres how it should be released:
BIM: TOP 40, single, video, etc.
WHILE, BIM is hitting the charts (if it does), she also should then release:
Inside Out, BUT, only to AC radio, HOT AC, ADULT URBAN, and let that track brew. If it takes off great, if it doesnt, then no video, etc.
OR
Once were done with that, she gives us another double whammy with two more tracks and the MAIN single that will have a video should be based on the last single that did well. If both of these end up doing well then video for both.
So:
Unapologetic Bitch (IF BIM does well, then this is the main single with video etc) - TOP 40, Urban.
OR
Joan of Arc (if Inside out does well then this is the track that gets the vdeo) - Adult AC, Hot AC

I dont really HATE any track like everyone else has echoed but this album could potentially have been stronger without these tracks:
(Based on the Super Deluxe 23 Tracks (not including the L4L Remixes):
Illuminati
SEX
Addicted
Holy Water
Messiah

Joan of Arc - Acoustic!!!
Heartbreak City
-
i cant pick an order just yet but here is my top 5. I have atleast 10 faves off this album.
living for love
Joan of Arc
Heartbreak City
Best Night
Inside Out
-
based on some inside sources, Rain has been on Madonnas "no-sing" list for a very long time. She apparently hates this song.
-
isnt the newer acoustic version (with the same lyrics as album..."im only human) high quality? Sounds great to me.
-
probably my most played track from this album so far.
With that said, I prefer both accoustic versions (the demo and the one that was slated for official release) over the final album track though i still listen to the album track regularly.
I just dont get the same feeling I get when listening to the haunting and sad acoustic versions.

i LOVE the madonna voice on all 4 of the songs on the WTG soundtrack.
The songs are gems.
I remember posting somewhere that the first section of MDNA tour would have been a bigger and more energetic experienc had she replaced revolver with causing a commotion (a version that fit the vibe of that section) but that song would have had a whole new meaning during that section and folks would have gone insane!! instead she took that energy she created with Girl gone wild and then knocked it out of her audience with revolver.

hmmm, ok so i just thought about this right now randomly so its not as baked but here goes:
The video start with tv stations being flipped with news stories of mass chaos with news reporters saying things that are reflective of the times and what is really happening. "they didnt back down" "....has launch a nuclear bomb in retaliation...." "please stay inside your home" "may god bless you all" and then "BOOOOOOM" and explosion.....silence.....
Next you see Madonna pulling herself out of some rubble, she's breathing heavy, she's thinking really hard, she's looking around confused....and then the words begin...."Maybe it was all too much......
The video then displays visuals that suggest a love story with one person as well as a love story with the world that is crumbling before her very eyes. I know she likes her double entendre's so this would be reflective of the craziness going on in the world right now and how it could end up being a ghosttown if some psycho goes alittle too far and then love being the hope factor.
Not sure if Madonna should play herself in this video or if she should do a character. Need to think through this more.

i can accept the new version and I have. Thats not my issues at all. It just doesnt give me the same goosebumps as the previous version did.
-
its not a bad track, I like it, I just never seem to go out of my way to play it.
-
top 5 RH track for me....Potentially top 3....still need some time to finalize but its really up there.
-
I really agree with you on that. Your description of the demo as being more "breathtaking" and "inspirational" captures exactly what I was trying to explain in my earlier post.
I would also like to address another possible objection to my argument in favor of the original demo: that is, that it doesn't fit the album. I agree that it wouldn't fit well with the tracks as they are currently sequenced. However, if that album opened with the original demo of "Rebel Heart," just before the similarly euphoric "Living for Love," I think that it would work quite well (and, by the way, would have made a better lead single, in my opinion).
Dickens - totally agree with you. If you think about it "living for love" doesnt exactly "fit" the rest of the album either. If the album opened with a stronger version of Rebel Heart (such as that first version), I think it would have worked perfectly. On my personal sequencing of the album, I dont open with L4L.
-
love this track but as far as hearing this album as a whole for the last few weeks, I typically skip this.
-
the final version doesnt have the same breathtaking, inspirational feel as the first version we all heard. Thats whats missing for me. I get why she didnt even put it on the main version of the album but i dont get why she didnt spend more time making this the classic it should've been.
The good news is, if she does decide to release rebel heart as a single, shes not required to release the version thats on this album. She can come up with a great radio mix like she has with many singles in the past.

doesnt fit with the overall sound of the album but nonetheless I like it on its own. Not a standout for me yet.
-
one of the best tracks on the album.
-
BEST: Shep, Patrick Leonard, Stephen Bray, William Orbit, Mirwais, Stuart Price, Dallas Austin
Worst: Timbaland, Oakenfold, Solveig

living for this madonna era!! These performances were done so well. It's sooo rare for Madonna to do a remix to promote a new song. The only time i remember her doing this was for Bedtime Story at the Brits and maybe Hollywood MTV Vma's.
-
I don't understand why they added the "Vogue" lyrics/sample to "Holy Water". It adds nothing to the song and doesn't really fit lyrically. :/
totally agree with you. actually sounds awkward too. Its off by a milisecond but thats a technical issue that could be subjective.
Why couldnt they use an appropriate sample from like "where life begins" or "erotica" wouldve been hotter!
-
Heaven is epic!!
Again i have to say the chorus of "Score" reminds of something from the "whos that girl" album era.
-
I liked Alone with You....didnt cream over it or anything.
Was listening to Score earlier and thought, the chorus reminds me of mid-late 80's classic madonna.
We have so much good stuff!!
Japanese remastered editions of LAP, WTG, IB and YCD?
in ARCHIVE - Madonna
