There’s a warning/disclaimer before the video starts. Did she even watch the shit?

I'm sorry to say, but these kids manage to make it all about themselves. Gun Control goes beyond them. It's not just about their experiences.

Madonna always puts her money where her mouth is, and this tweet is just ignorant. I'm glad she is being called out, not only by fans, but by actual organisations. I hope she retracts her ignorant tweets and apologises.

Well, I did this tonight. They do play a clip from that Beats One Apple interview where Madonna speaks.

Just like they promoted, you get to remix Crave in their app, GarageBand. It is a little complex if you’ve never used the app before (and I hadn’t).

There was only one other person registered for this, and he was there because he’d participated in another “Today at Apple” event, then learned of this one.

I’d say it was worth it for the opportunity to put on some headphones and basically listen to Madonna’s isolated vocals — like an a cappella version of Crave. So lovely.

Eveything is broken down that way — her vocals, his vocals, guitar, synth drums, and synth bass. The song structure is sort of like this:

    Intro

    Chorus A

    Chorus B

    Verse

    Chorus A

    Chorus B

    Verse (Swae feature)

    Breakdown

    Chorus A

    Chorus B

    Outro

    All in all interesting.

Down side? The instructor told me most labs like this send you home with something — but, he said, because Madonna’s Madonna, they couldn’t give us any of her stuff. I said I understood — I do get it — and I said I bought the album, so I wouldn’t need to take anything, anyway. But that was before we’d done anything.

It was mesmerizing to see her looping (the red tint footage of her she posted on IG a while back) — it was on almost every screen in tbe Apple store. Gorgeous.

If you have an opportunity to register for one of these labs near you, go! Listen to Madonna’s voice in isolation!! (It’s free!!)

Sounds amazing, and a total treat. ☺️

  3. The video has got loads of good press, both in print and TV, and she definitely got people talking about such an important topic, which is exactly the intention of the song/video. On top of that, we got a visually and aesthetically outstanding video, so it's a win win situation for M and us fans.

This era has been one hell of a ride, and a complete creative peak for our M, and I couldn't be happier as fan to still be witnessing all her brilliance. Madonna is Madonna and she will forever be right at the top with the greatest. Her work and achievements will never be erased.

More views would be nice! If she still got a hit here or there would be great too. But the main thing is that we don't let the competitiveness of stan culture get in the way of our enjoyment of M's work.

As usual this fanbase zeroes in on negativity and the side effect of that is that the negativity gets louder. MAYBE if we took a page out of Madonna's book and just try to rise above, enjoy the ride, and thank god that we "get her," maybe Madonna's "scandals" would have half the life that they do.

take it from me. I thought this video was going to cross the line into exploitation and tackiness - a fear that a lot of fans may have had, but especially me, since I have a personal connection to the events at Pulse 3 years ago. Then she releases the video and it's not only incredibly moving, but the media finally accepts that she's made a bold, real statement and talks about it as such. For the first time in god knows how long, the headlines are pretty positive. Go figure. And yet? Here we are discussing some Twitter troll and whining about Ariana Grande not saying something about it. We are ridiculous.

    I'm with you 100%.

The Washington Post is riding the same wave as TMZ. Ridiculous.

I saw that, and I actually started laughing.

The Washington Post should actually be ashamed for writing that article. It seemed like I was reading something from the Daily Mail. It was a whole negative spin on the actual significance of the video based on 3 tweets from 3 SJW nobodies. Actually embarrassing that they needed not one but two so called journalists to write that article.

  6. Yes, Madonna is a complete different league, and completely above all the others. No one is doing what she is doing, and no one is using their work within pop culture with the same political and cultural intent as Madonna. This has been a staple in Madonna's career, and will forever set her apart.

One thing we cannot let happen is let a couple of articles from TMZ and other similar tabloids drive the conversation, and bring down the significance of this video, and its message.

THE VIDEO IS A MASTERPIECE. VISUALLY AND AESTHETICALLY BRILLIANT, AND THE MESSAGE OF THE VIDEO AND SONG MAKES IT A UNIQUE PIECE OF ART THAT NO OTHER POP STAR WOULD DARE TO RELEASE.

That Pulse survivor who spoke to TMZ is a longtime ageist Madonna hater. He’s getting dragged on Twitter. His twitter account is @bjoewolf. He’ll probably delete these old tweets soon.

And of course TMZ went out of their way to find someone that would say something negative. First, the other girl, and now this guy. I'm terribly sorry that these people have experience something as horrific as what happened at Pulse, but no, this is not about them, this is not only about Pulse, and they are trying to make it all about them.

Madonna is calling for action to avoid what keeps happening in clubs, schools, everywhere. She is asking us not to take gun violence as something normal, but something we must fight against by engaging with politicians, grassroots organisations, etc.

These people are taking about the violence in the video as if it is any different from what is shown 24/7 in the news, films, tv shows, and video games. But the difference is that Madonna is doing it with a purpose to call upon the world to act.

And I'm sorry to say it, but after reading these tweets from him, he is exactly the type of gay that craves attention, and his participation in the debate comes across as exactly that -- he wants his 5 minutes in the spotlight by being negative, but what he should be doing is actually join the fight and spread the message.

  8. And please guys, ignore TMZ. They are just looking for the negative angle. The same girl that was interviewed for that article was praising M on twitter, and thanking her for the shout out to her grassroots organisations. They just simply took her words out of context to make it look like she was being negative about M.

For once, the press is covering this positively, and I wouldn't expect otherwise, being it such an important topic. People, EW, HuffPost, CNN are all sharing M's message for change so please just ignore the tabloids.

i was a little confused by this too. it looked like it was going back in time, but some of it didn't seem to make sense since it showed people lying on the floor at all different times. i thought maybe the dark-haired madonna in nyc was writing a story and the scenes with the blond madonna in LA were depictions of those scenes.

The back in time thing can be interpreted as a metaphor. Time moves forward, and it seems like the world is becoming a more progressive place, when in fact we are actually moving backwards in some respects.

  10. I can only anticipate that the NRA, pro-gun republicans, Fox News and the like will come hard for her.

Her outspokenness, bravery, and fearlessness continues to be what defines Madonna to this day, and I couldn't be prouder that she is still using her platform, and a medium such as pop music which is commonly seen as lowbrow, to address such a powerful and important topic.

No other pop star would put something like this out there, and this is one of the many reasons why her work and legacy will always be as a staple of our times.

Radios might not play her, Award Shows might not nominate her, and ageist articles might keep pouring in, but that won't stop her from keep delivering her art and message.

  11. One thing I'm curious is why she always drops the videos on Wednesdays? Not complaining, because I can't wait for this video, but she could maximise the views at the start of the charting week and release it on Fridays! 🤷‍♂️

I guess she must be really at a stage when she doesn't care much about getting a hit song, because if she was, releasing on Fridays would be the logical move, and Interscope would advise her to do just that.
