I’m totally confused and perplexed by anyone who bemoans “politicaldonna”.  I mean yeah she’s written some fantastic escapist anthems (Holiday, ITG, Hung Up) but she’s literally built her entire career on politics, provocation and challenging societal norms. LAP, LAV Vogue, PDP, EY, JML, Erotica, AL all were designed to drive a conversation and challenge our assumptions about sex, gender, homosexuality, abortion, personal freedom etc.  So when people say “ I’m bored with her politics” I’m like “ what have you been listening to the last 35 years?”  Bring it on M!  We need to wake up!  Especially with the state of the world the way it is today.

    Amen x 1,000,000!

I don’t know if it was a production issue or an error during mixing/mastering but Wash All Over Me (produced by Mike Dean) is the worst sounding song on Rebel Heart. It’s so muffled and quiet. Holy Water, another one of his productions, also sounds bad especially during the Vogue part which is so much louder than the rest of the song. I just hope „little“ things like that are taken care of on the new album because at the end of the day she is working with a top notch team and mistakes like that shouldn’t happen.

I thought Kayne reworked a bunch of the songs in the end?  I have held him responsible for making the record sound both over and under produced in places.  He also created a darker feeling, in my opinion, and changed the entire vibe.  Wasn't  it Kayne who put the distracting sound over Wash All Over Me?

Such a great song. Glad you love it and it helped you. Very inspiring and so catchy.

The Like a Virgin album is incredibly under-rated by fans and critics. It is one of the best and purest pop albums ever.

The Like a Virgin album is the least Madonna album of all Madonna albums.  She held less writing credits on it than any other M record and I rank it as number 14 out of 14.... (I include Breathless). I don't  dislike it but it just feels "produced" rather than created.  With that said.... Dress You Up and Angel are two of her finest recordings.

why cant the person who had the ray of light demos just share them to help us through this drought there is only so many times we can listen to champagne rosey

I second this.  Give us a couple of old demos as their is a vault of unheard gems.

Looks like we are in for a low budget music video. Yaaay

How did you ascertain a low video budget from this clip?  Besides... Give Me All Your Luvin was the 27th  most expensive videos ever made (1.5 milllion) and it is not as memorable as Borderline, Like a Virgin or Papa Don't Preach.  Money isn't everything when it comes to art.

    her target audience is gays?

The one thing that I am blown away by at Madonna's concerts is the diversity of the audience.

Young... old... gay... straight... all races...  all religions... all genders... all sexes...  celebrities... non-celebrities...  all nationalities... moms and dads...  kids... There is a huge spectrum.  We gays are just the targets for the high dollar seats.  Haha

I do believe a tour bundle would greatly help.....look what it did for MDNA, thanks to the bundle, it came very close to matching first week sales of COADF. The only downside to that is week #2 when there's no more bundle. ☹️ All those great congratulatory headlines from week one got overshadowed by the (gleeful) press of how she had the biggest drop from number one ever.

Didn't Gaga replace that record shortly after?

MDNA was half totally amazing songs and half - one of her worst. Really strange, but of course I love it :). Its very divisive.

MDNA wasn't 50% bad.  Come on now.  I do not think that any of Madonna's record are any where near that threshold.  Look at the MDNA tracklist again and then look at other pop icons latest work.  Better yet, listen to the album in full.  The single choices were questionable, (given the fantastic material that was overlooked) but they were all better than Cardi B's Money or Ariana Grande's 7 rings.

  9. I wonder if other celebrities have fanbases that are this critical?????  Especially 37 years in????  If M wears grills to a child's soccer game or uses a phone filter, she is lambasted and people seem to conveniently ignore that this is the same person that brought us 13 stellar albums (14 if you count Breathless), more than 80 official singles, many of them pbeyond legendary, and 10 absolutely insane tours that set the standard for the entire industry.  If Madonna wants to play with camera filters, wear grills, gain or lose weight, or has a bad hair or wig day.... I am so cool with it.  Really I am.  M has given us a lot.  Long live the Queen.
