  1. Madonna should re-release Rebel Heart with the "demo" versions of some songs (original versions before the leak) and a few alternate selections. Never Let You Go, Heaven, Queen, etc. She could still get a number one out of this. There was plenty of material. I would buy another version in multiple copies again. It would be terrific. The album would end up being very different from the current album and would generate enough sales and interest.

  2. This was not as hard as I imagined it being. Like a Virgin is the least Madonna"esque" album for me. Although Angel is one of her best songs ever. I felt bad about placing Confessions so low but it is both brilliant and repetitive. Disco Disco Disco. Like It or Not and Issac are among her best songs. This is one kick ass discography though. Long live the Queen.

    1. Ray of Light

    2. Erotica

    3. Rebel Heart

    4. American Life

    5. Like a Prayer

    6. MDNA

    7. Madonna

    8. Music

    9. Bedtime Stories

    10. Confessions on a Dancefloor

    11. True Blue

    12. Hard Candy

    13. I'm Breathless

    14. Like a Virgin

  3. I'm glad that Madonna is releasing a rebel song. I was making a Rebel playlist and I just realized that Rebel Heart is mostly Heart. Take the two sex songs (Holy Water and S.E.X.) out of the mix (and Madonna herself describes those two as satire),what Rebel is left? Unapologetic Bitch and Bitch I'm Madonna...maybe Best Night but that to me is a pseudo-Rebel song. Even the unreleased demos were mostly Heart. MDNA had more true Rebel in my opinion. Gang Bang....I Don't Give A....Some Girls.....I'm a Sinner....Beautiful Killer.... Not a complaint....I love Rebel Heart album but the message seems to be, "I'm more Heart than Rebel". Bitch I'm Madonna will expose the Rebel some...I hope. I love the Queen and again....I'm not bitching. L.U.V. Rebel Heart.

  4. I just read the blog section of Billboard.com. People are being people real bitches about Ghosttown going number one and about Madonna in general. Fear not....Madonna has been a "has been" since Like a Virgin and she continues to leave the others in the dust. "Has been" is not having the third best selling female album nearly 35 years into your career and setting concert records over and over and over. All living musical artists are still competing with her historic career. Personally, I don't give a shit about charts. All that I give a fuck about is the fact that her new material is better than anything that I'm hearing of the radio today. FUCK THE HATERS!

  5. The song will be number 1 on the dance charts this week. Why is the single not out yet? Ridiculous. Her ground breaking 45th number 1 on the chart and no physical copy. I already bout 10 versions of the album so it is hard to support her without the remixes to purchase.

  6. Raw and edgy? It's an MOR rock ditty. It's a great song but let's not get carried away.

I find it raw, meaning not overproduced and covered up. I find it edgy because it is more intelligent than the usual pop ballad. It speaks of developing and maintaining a social conscience and is not an exercise in mere personal reflection. It is not a song about falling in or out of love. It is not a song about being saved. It is not flat. Rebel Heart is not a Celine Dion or Mariah Carey"esque" ballad. Madonna is critical of her own vanity....her fame....her noteriety. She is critical of both her career and her personal life. The "absolutely no regrets" woman is truly reflective but does not wallow in regret. Calls herself a massichist....a narcissist... never satisfied.... Madonna no longer sings "Rescue Me" but opts to be her own hero. To me, it is edgy because it is a call to a higher social and spiritual plane. Perhaps I am using the wrong terms. I just find it quite unique to the mere ten songs that radio continually plays over and over.

  7. I am thrilled to see her first two shows in Miami. I will not be overcome by the spoilers. I don't mind knowing the set list but I don't want to watch bootleg versions of the entire show like MDNA and Sticky and Sweet. I remember going to Who's that Girl Tour as a boy and I had no clue what to expect. It was my first M concert....to be honest.....my first concert period. Oh the magic when she appeared behind the light screen and began Open Your Heart (my favorite Madonna song in 1987). I had absolutely no clue what was going to happen or even the songs that she was going to perform. I remember that experience fondly and wish to not have that experience spoiled. I can't wait. I am preparing my Rebel Heart for the greatest show on earth.

  8. Celebration is a fun song don't get me wrong and it's a wonderful cardio/gym work out tune. I also love the Tour performance but I think as a stand alone song BIM is leaps and bounds better.

Celebration sounds like a lot of songs she has done in the past whereas Bitch sounds nothing like she has ever done. The overall themes from BIM seem more iconic and tangible, and when you add in the bravado, the choreography, the looks, and Nicki it definitely trumps the other.

It's a matter of taste sure but it's not even a contest to me. I remember riding with a friend in his car in 2009 and he played Celebration (had just literally come out) and another friend was in the car who doesn't listen to Madonna and he said "all she does is dance, this sounds like everything else she's ever done before." Whereas all the times that I have played BIM or even UB at work, or for friends, they are all surprised it's Madonna. I rest my case

I couldn't agree more. Celebration was a holler out to her past albeit a fabulous past. BIM seems actually innovative in the vein of the Ray of Light Album or the American Life album. I have been a fan since 1986 and have always been drawn to the reinvention rather than the remaking of Madonna classics. Admittedly, I was uneasy with BIM as a potential single until I saw the Fallon performance. Madonna proved to be the chameleon once again, shed her skin and made me fall in love with her for the ten millionth time. At this stage....M needs to release whatever the hell she wants and fuck the naysayers. Long live the Queen and RESPECT cause Bitch....she's Madonna.

  9. I really was enamored with the Avicii demo of Rebel Heart but I have to admit that now I almost exclusively listen to the album version. I do think that the Avicii version is great but the album version is so much more intimate and meaningful (to me). I would be the first to line up and buy the Avicii version if I were provided the opportunity but the album version of Rebel Heart is pretty stellar in of itself. Truly, I think that Madonna should release Rebel Heart as a single but I think that the album version is more unique to all of the other "crap" on the radio that it would be even more well received than the Avicii version. The album version is raw and edgy. I love it and hope that she sings the album version live.

  10. Yes, final version and Demo 5 are both ace and a combination of them would be heaven! I'd love to hear the additional vocals and the early song structure with the final, anthemic arrangement. I gotta do a mashup of the two. But nevertheless, the album version kicks ass!!!

    Absolutely agree. 110%.

  11. Why would Madonna allow the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame look go so wrong when there is the 2015 Met Gala look that is so right? The induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was a huge deal. Where was her stylist? And I rarely criticize M-

  12. While I still think M has some great stuff in her, I've definitely noticed the wear and tear on her voice. I think as long as she sticks within her range of comfort we'll be fine, but without some serious fresh vocal training I don't think we'll be hearing, say, Ray of Light anytime soon.

With that said, her voice is still beautiful, but different. The album does a great job of showcasing her current strengths.

By the way, really pissed God is Love didnt make the album. I think that's a song filled with both Rebel and Heart.

Actually, Ray of Light was above her range then. Orbit has commented on this many times. He felt that the strain actually created a beautiful effect. I agree. One thing that has always impressed me with Madonna is that her vocals are clear. This trend has remained throughout her career. There are very few times when the lyrics are in distinguishable. Janet Jackson for instance, definitely requires lyric inclusions in her material.

I agree with you 110% that God is Love and maybe Revolution should have made the cut. Not bitching but she could have left S.E.X. off and included both songs. God is Love is far more Rebel and far more Heart than S.E.X. S.E.X. is fun though as a one off demo sort of thing.

  13. The writing on Rebel Heart is out of this world too. I think twelve of the songs are among the best written songs that she has ever produced. I love me some M-

    1. Living for Love

    2. Devil Pray

    3. Ghosttown

    4. Joan of Arc

    5. Heartbreak City

    6. Inside Out

    7. Wash All Over Me

    8. Messiah

    9. Rebel Heart

    10. Borrowed Time

    11. Beautiful Scars

    12. Queen

  14. M has a fantastic catalog.

    My faves 83-present......

    Borderline

    Angel [Extended Dance Mix]

    Open Your Heart

    Like a Prayer

    Justify My Love

    Deeper and Deeper

    Secret

    You’ll See

    You Must Love Me

    Frozen

    Don’t Tell Me

    Love Profusion [Headcleanr Rock Mix]

Let it Will Be (Paper Faces Mix)

    Devil Wouldn’t Recognize You

I’m a Sinner (William Orbit Mix)

    Messiah

    Queen

Joan of Arc certainly follows this trend. Long live the Queen.

  15. Joan Of Arc is the best song on Rebel Heart.

Love Spent is the best song on MDNA.

Devil Wouldn't Recognize You is the best song on Hard Candy.

Get Together is the best song on COADF.

Die Another Day is the best song from American Life.

Don't Tell Me is the best song on Music.

    This is 2000-2015.

Excellent taste but I have to go with Love Profusion (although I love Die Another Day) and I'm a Sinner (almost a tie with Love Spent).

  16. Ghosttown is great. So was Living for Love. Her music is really quite excellent at the moment. :Disco_Ball:

She clearly still outsells most artists. YES. I SAID IT. Madonna still outsells most artists. Rebel Heart, MDNA, and Hard Candy all outsold MOST artists. Every Madonna record since 1983 has outsold most artists. Interest in Madonna is not the problem. Sales have not been her problem either. Lots of music is played that has far undersold M-s records. Is the industry ageist? Hell yes. Sexist? Hell yes. Still, Madonna is putting the industry to shame by achieving mammoth success despite being ignored by radio. Her fans are all over the world. Meghan Trainor, Iggy Azalea, and Ariana Grande are being played on infinite repeat but none of them will ever be Madonna.

M has had her love affair with the radio. In my opinion, her music is much better now. I'm a Sinner is a far more sophisticated song than Lucky Star or Material Girl. M made a choice with Justify My Love to be a rebel. She chose to actually say something socially meaningful. M made a choice with the Erotica album to be an artist and not a caged, pop princess. M made a choice during American Life to reject her prior personas and radio dropped her. Mainstream media loves Madonna's HEART but does not understand her REBEL. Not being played non-stop on radio has not hurt Madonna. Perhaps, it even has kept the interest alive. She has a mystique that other artists cannot compete with. Her tours are legend and you see how every audience responds to her (including the BRITS performance). She is idolized and revered. She is not the flavor of the moment. Thank God for that as it allows her the platform to be more creative than all of her counterparts. She is an ICON.

If commercial success (which Madonna still has) and radio play are your only barometers then blame the fan base. Let's face it. People steal her music by the droves. There are people on this forum and others that steal from her catalog and refuse to truly support her. I have actually read countless posts relaying the idea that they like the new album almost enough to buy. Do people have to buy? No but they sure as hell do not have to steal. Why should she invest in singles and massive videos to entertain thieves? If every person that stole her demos this go around actually now bought the record...Madonna's Rebel Heart would be number one next week. Some people would rather bitch and steal. That's not Live Nation's fault. That's not Guy Oseary's fault. That's not the record industry's fault. And that's not M-s fault.

PIRACY IS WRONG AND HINDERS ART. IF YOU STEAL YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM. :hornybig:

  17. I love it. It is questionable and the questions mean that we have our M back. No more English Manor Maiden (although I love her too). It is like Madonna putting away a persona and choosing another. Queen of reinvention. Never liked the grilz or the erotic gold tooth but I love both Dita and M-dolla. It is all about playing a character. I love all of her personas. She is like Roger from American Dad. Luv it all.
