  1. True Blue was my first M album. To be honest, I did not know that Live to Tell, Angel and Into the Groove were all sang by the same person. I know that sounds stupid but I was pretty young. As well, my family did not listen to anything but country music so I was not even aware of Madonna until the Like a Virgin craze was completely over with. By Who's that Girl Tour, I was obsessed and nothing would ever be the same again. LOL

  2. So much negativity this go around. I don't understand the increasing condescension against Madonna, her music and her recent tours. I believe the criticism of Madonna 2015 to be largely misplaced. Her shows are fantastic. Her new music is really good. Her promotion this era has been stellar. As for record sales... Hell, nobody sells records anymore. Even Taylor Swift's numbers are a flash in the pan against Like a Virgin, True Blue, Like a Prayer and The Immaculate Collection. Digitized music crept in and changed the landscape. Not to dwell on the past however.... Madonna has sold a lot of records since the Immaculate Collection as well. People steal music now at a exponential rate and not just Madonna's music. It is destroying the whole industry. Yes. The live stage shows are pricey. Inflated ticket prices are meant to compensate for that loss of album revenue. Should M work for free? Do you? Rebel Heart cost a chunk of change to produce. 40+ demos, and 24 official songs including Autotune Baby. Mixing/production, promotion, co-producers, artwork.... That wasn't free. A lot of people have to get paid, not just M. So why all of the hate. Admittedly, there are M records and tours that I like more than others but none of M's work is "trash" and it is offensive to listen to a bunch of squabbling "children" dismissing M's impressive visual and audio catalog. Sticky and Sweet and MDNA were mind blowing, breathtaking, heart stopping productions. In fact, all of Madonna's tours have been masterpieces and I am baffled by the onslaught of personal attacks. I cannot believe the homophobic, ageist, sexist remarks that are being made by Madonna's "fan"base with the aim to discredit her as a relative artist in 2015. In my opinion, this behavior is very disturbing and does not have a place on a fan site. People are bashing an upcoming tour over a handful of rumors and I might remind you that you do not have to purchase a single ticket. Stop demeaning Madonna's work present and past. Despite, your desire to bemoan her every breath, M's accomplishments and accolades stand tall. Sorry to the real fans but the naysayers need to have a seat. Enough already. I want to enjoy my visits to this site. I want to share experiences and be reminded why I am a fan of the world's greatest living entertainer. Shove the negativity where the sun doesn't shine.

  3. Am I actually reading all of this correctly? Sticky and Sweet and MDNA were fantastic live shows. I do not even know where to go with this one. Madonna has a lot of fair weather concert goers. It is not her destiny to remake the Blonde Ambition Tour over and over. The M fans obsessed with the 80's need to get a grip. The 80's do not constitute even a third of her impressive catalog. Her tours may leave out a favorite of mine here or there but I do not consider anyone to be an actual "fan" who lambastes Madonna's live shows. I am actually confused here. It is called art. It is called theater. Would we have asked VanGogh to paint The Scream over and over and never offer us Sunflowers? I say to the naysayers....stay the f#$% home and wait for Janet Jackson or Celine Dion. You obviously don't understand M- and frankly don't deserve her. #sorrynotsorry LONG LIVE THE QUEEN!

  4. People leave early because Madonna is notoriously late going on. The last time, I was in Boston (MDNA), Madonna was nearly 21/2 hours late. I actually left half way through Celebration and it wasn't because I didn't enjoy the show. I was worried that I would miss the T and not be able to catch a cab. I am a huge fan and would never "choose" to leave a Madonna concert early. The MDNA Tour was very good (IMHO) but I can see how Gang Bang and Revolver were not what general people expected. As far a showmanship, Madonna was spot on. The tour was dark and seemed more like Drowned World than Who's that Girl but it was a spectacle so I doubt people left early because she failed to include enough 80's hits. M- just needs to get her ass out on stage in a more reasonable time frame.

  5. I actually like the "setlist" but I have a hard time believing that she will offer no nods to Like a Prayer, Ray of Light, American Life, Confessions, Hard Candy, MDNA. This "setlist" is Madonna essentially ignoring half of her catalog completely. Although....I love every song on the list. Power of Goodbye/Secret could be an interlude. She actually has mentioned most of these songs with #rebelhearttour. We shall see. Seeing Boston as well now that she postponed Miami until late January 2016.

Who's that Girl excites me as the WTG tour was my first exposure to Live Madonna. Can't wait.

  6. Hard Candy is amazing.

    • Finally, she decided to step away from the dancey/electronic thing and try something for a change. The sound of Hard Candy was new for her. She doesn't have to create a new genre of music with every album.
    • Working with underground producers can be overrated sometimes. If we're going to criticize that in Hard Candy, we might as well slag off Bedtime Stories. But we can't and we don't.
    • Sure, Timbo and Timber and Pharrell might have given pieces of their flavour to Madonna but it's unfair to say Madonna just accepted that with no say at all. Look at the lyrics of Candy Shop, 4 Minutes (an upbeat song about saving the world compared to most upbeat songs about booty, sex, dicks, and more sex), Give It 2 Me (pure Madonna), and Beat Goes On.
    • It's not right to say she didn't put a personal touch on the album. Have you listened to Miles Away? Incredible? Devil? Voices? These songs were reflective of what Madonna's life was like at that time.
    • Like Ai Papi said above, she can't keep doing the same thing over and over. She can't release another electronica album. She can't be overtly political or critical or Estherical all the time. She's had years being that. It was time for her landscape to change. It was time for her sugar pussy to take charge again.
    • The HC cover is pure Madonna. I'm surprised some fans dislike it.
    • Madonna has evolved as a person. I think during True Blue to Erotica she felt unstoppable. She was at the peak of her career and she had creative control. Then the backlash happened. She retreated, turned to introspection and religion to understand it all. By the American Life era, she was still introspective but was looking at the world as a different place by then. She's not a musician anymore. She wanted to get involved with world issues.
    • And I believed after going through that circle, Madonna has embraced that she needs to be connected with other people. She's getting older. She has children already. She's been on top of the world but nothing can match connectedness with other people. That's why we got Madonna working with with JT, Pharrell, Kanye, Katy, Miley, Nicki, and whoever is next. She's no longer the Erotica Madonna you adored. She's no longer the Ray of Light Madonna you worshipped. She's come down from it all and wants to have more people in her life. She's a human being for god's sake. I don't think there's anything wrong with her working with other musicians. It's what other people say about the humanised Madonna that's wrong anyway. People keep shoving her in a box where she's all alone but she's far gone from that already.

I agree with every word of this 100%. BTW American Life album was incredible and the Hard Candy album cover was True Blue 2.0. You rock. Glad we do not have to put up with a Janet"esque" (boring repetition) or Prince"esque" album (monothematic) album from Madonna. Different and diverse every time. And anyone that criticizes touring Madonna is a complete idiot with no credibility whatsoever. Long live the Queen.

    XOXO

  7. M did the Grammys the last two years and has a kick ass album so it is possible that she will do well. Hopefully she will get big awards and let people know that she has a new album. Believe it or not, I run into people every day that are not aware of Rebel Heart's existence. People don't know about MDNA or Hard Candy either. Grammy awards could boost sales. A number one album could still happen. Look at Sam Smith after the Grammy's and the Brits. Fingers crossed.

  8. Video is fixed and is amazing. So much F.U.N. M looks amazing and she gave yet another vantage point to experience rebel heart. As for the criticism for the short cameos....It was perfect and flawless. Other than Madonna, Nicki is the only one who deserved true spotlight as it is her song. The work would have come across as "less than" had there been guest appearances and not cameos. PERFECTION. I can see this video playing at the clubs. Watching this video, "I wanna dance naked in a rainstorm".
