I don't mind waiting for some more months, or even years if she thinks its better. M has an enormous and diversified discography to fulfil my desire of listening to a song in any mood I am.

Then again I am a Sade fan. Imagine having 35+ years of career and only releasing 6 studio albums. 💀

True.  Quantity is not everything but we are owed a "Best of" album from music on.  It could make filled the gap. There have been a ton of number one dance songs since the Music album.  It could have been a retrospective dance/remix collection.  Celebration was a rehash of IC  a smattering of 90's and 00's, and the incomplete representation of post Music albums.  A follow-up ballad album could have worked too. The hunger is real.

For all of you who said it was never confirmed for 2018 (yes it was!) December 2017 Madonna on Kelly and Ryan says “2018. She is coming back and she’s coming for you”

then Vogue a month ago says album was 2018.

it’s easy to see why the fans are frustrated. I personally would have liked a release around November just for Christmas sales that really worked for Confessions, but most everything is streaming today so maybe it wouldn’t have mattered. Her singles do better in late summer fall though don’t they? (0:

Exactly.  I could not remember the show.

This came as quite the shock yesterday, I couldn’t even post or react. I was a firm ‚late 2018‘ believer... oh well. This shaping up to be a rough year till the very end. Let’s hope it’s all worth it.

I still am not accepting a vague WWD "quote" as gospel.  Naive maybe but we have nearly three full months remaining in the year.  She released RH, at least the first 3rd early.  Who knows what could happen.

It was Madonna's fateful decision to position herself as a rebellious political activist in 2003. It was a very risky game and she lost epically. Her brave decision nearly killed her career in the States. Since then she's stamped as a persona non grata for many Americans and U.S. radio stations. Above all she had overlooked the fact that not all her fans and admirers share her personal political attitude.

Madonna did not lose "epically". Instead, she gained even greater credability as a Rebel Heart. Some of her biggest successes were yet to come. The Sticky and Sweet Tour was massive.  Her biggest selling single was Hung Up.  Give Me All Your Luvin' beat Elvis' top ten record and Madonna extended her dance floor dominance with a unprecedented number of number one dance songs.  Madonna is an artist that has never played to a common fan base.  Madonna delivers the message that moves her..... ALWAYS.  Thank God for that or we would have never had the Erotica album, the Like a Prayer video, the SEX book or the Secret Project.  Madonna is a legend and her bravery has immortalized her.  American Life was mislabeled a political album but it was a fantastic body of.work.  Nothing about it was a failure.

You can not compare her "subtle" political activities before 2003 with American Life, when she stood up against W. Bush's "War on Terror".

Absoolutely wrong.  Truth or Dare and Blonde Ambition at the height of the AIDS epidemic was a far bigger statement than American Life.  Her advocacy for the LGBTQ community was massive and unprecedented by a mainstream artist. Before that, the Like a Prayer album/videos were a call to war against sexism, religious abuse and racism.   Madonna consistently been a Rebel Heart.
