  1. It's great that she's getting good reviews for this collection. But in reading through some of them and the responses, Madonna almost always gets good reviews doesn't she? Oh and the review that mentioned MDNA felt like Madonna on autopilot was on point. That album was dreadful, I know many fans liked it but as a long time fan, I found it one disappointment after another. It was as though she was half-assing it the entire way. But now with this new album it feels like she has returned to form and I'm thrilled with it!

And how the hell is it that google will take you to this Friendman's article first? Something is weird about that! What a bastard! Did he pay google for that?

  2. Can't get this song out of my head. It's incredible.

For anyone who doesn't think this isn't first-single worthy, I LOVE this video of Living For Love being played at a club somewhere. The reaction is great and THAT beat drop is all kinds of :wow: :wow: :wow:

That is amazing! I love it! Love how the dance floor sang it with her. Hopefully she can get some longevity out of this song. It's definitely a grower.

  3. Can I ask all of you in this thread if you listen to the radio like you used to? I personally do not. I find the mainstream stations to be full of crappy music and then there are the 80s/90s stations and they're okay but they have a group of songs they play over and over and it makes me want to scream that there was more to those decades than those few songs they rotate nonstop.

It makes me wonder if the reason why she doesn't chart all that much anymore is because her fans have evolved past the radio. Like the response above, M fans are going to sit around and listen to the radio and request songs. Who has that kind of time?

  4. It was clearly stated that we should not ask for or share the actual songs, not that we couldn't discuss them. We were encouraged a few days ago to discuss them outside of this particular thread and 99% of forum members seemed to happily respect this, enthusiastically sharing thoughts on tracks within a few active threads with moderator involvement that only went so far as to flush out those who did solicit files.

The impression was left that it was indeed okay to talk about the new songs (which are easily obtained elsewhere all over the internet.) As of this past hour this is no longer the case. Got it. Which highlights one of the big issues here.

I realize the severity of what's happened, the vulnerable position it leaves the forum in and therefore the necessity to wipe out certain threads/posts. However, instead of completely and permanently deleting all record of an issue when one arises within a problematic thread, why not add it to a master list of things that are/aren't permissible in the Rebel Heart sub-forum for posterity and for those of us who aren't glued to the forum 24 hours a day or don't have time to wade through 50 pages of posts to find such statements? Otherwise, how can someone be expected to know and be considered "illiterate" just because something that was okay at three o'clock on Tuesday is suddenly punishable by death at noon on Wednesday?

It's irritating that we spent most of 2014 poring over thread after thread filled with hashtag speculation, fan art, fake song lyrics and stupid fucking pizza banter only to be muted once the real shit started surfacing.

Moderating can be a thankless, frustrating task but the forum would greatly benefit if more of an effort was made to keep everyone on the same page, yourselves included. Be clear and consistent and doing so without the insults would be a refreshing change. If nothing else it would illicit a more positive response and atmosphere instead of repeatedly making everyone feel like crap for caring about new Madonna music on a forum devoted to her. There are shit-stirrers and trolls, but there are also a lot of very loyal fans here who are understandably excited and can't navigate within rigid guidelines that change every five minutes with little-to-no documentation.

    This! Nicely put!

  5. I guess it's not important as long as I like the songs. I've been of that belief since American Life. There were some really good songs on that album but the radio turned on her at that point. It would be great to see some of this stuff reach the general public though because some of the songs are THAT good.

Didn't someone say that they count streaming of a song on the charts now? Or did I dream that?

Whatever the case I feel M has done right by her fans with this collection and with there being so many songs I hope she releases single after single. Why the hell not?
