Have you even listened to the latest album?? I'd hardly say it's geared to a young urban audience.

The only time you could remotely say she did that was with Hard Candy and considering it produced one of the biggest hits of her career + other minor hits + sold 4 million copies, I'd say it was at least a moderate success. Just because a collaborator is black doesn't automatically make them "urban". Wtf

And no, not all of her fans want her to constantly do "dance pop" and thank God she doesn't.....and even if she did do that, I think some fans are under a bit of a delusion to think that it'd automatically be a success because of that. There are SO many other factors now that contribute to a hit that weren't even on the radar back in 2005 when she last hit with a "disco stomper"

This , tnks ( and HC is dope )!

Its not that she's too old, its that the music isn't commercial enough. This albums better than the last two but there's nothing on it that sounds like a commercial hit. She's doesn't do that anymore. She doesn't seem to like the music that her audience really want from her - pop that you can dance to. If she wanted a hit shed make dance pop music again but she seems to believe a young urban audience are going to embrace her. Thats never going to happen.

No she s simply living the time of her life and she s doing the music she wants to and this album is amazing , it screams freedom . She s a unique Artist

I live in the US and I guarantee you that none of MTV channels played her videos 24/7 as you mentioned in your response. Unfortunately and sadly she is no longer relevant  for this country.

What do you consider relevant ? Is she relevant to you ? I guess so and that s a great achievement in the eve of tributes-resurrections&imitations .

The point is that hearing works-in-progress before the final versions that complete the artists vision (let alone being exposed to them while the process is still going) shapes our perceptions, in more ways than one (and far more than we probably realize). And thus affect the way we take in, perceive, and process the true, final version of the work. Artists know this...that's why 99% of the time they don't expose their work to the public until they believe it's finished and fulfills their vision. Hearing earlier versions/demos later, after the fact, is different, as then those perceptions of the work are built on the foundation of the final work (as most artists probably intend).

    That s right

Another masterpiece.  So grateful being alive to see this much high quality product in 2019 from an artist I’ve followed for decades!

A beautifully produced, moving video that captures the spirit of the song.  I’m glad that Madonna gave the visual spotlight to a couple of the more experimental songs.  Some of her best video work ever has come out of Madame X.

She looks sensational in Batuka, but more importantly, she appears joyful and touched.  She is an an artist creating for the sake of creativity and not for the charts.

    Exactly !!!

I think it will be a very simple music video. Nothing special like Dark Ballet or God Control. More like Crave. Just people dancing, singing, no story line.

I hope it has a political  metaphore , it has all the ingredients , I m quite  sure  s gonna be like that

Exactly!!! I don’t get how anyone can dislike it. It’s EPIC!! The best of Madonna’s most creative side. I fell in love with it on a the first listen. The drums put me into a trance and then her voice and the lyrics, just pure MAGIC!

    Quite a masterpiece indeed
