Sorry, but "coddling" impatient fans should be the last thing going through her mind during the creative process. We are lucky she's continuously shared info throughout the creation of this album because that is something she usually never does. Perhaps next time she should just take it back to basics and remain silent during the recording of her album if her "teasing" is such a source of anxiety for some.

I know it seems like she's spending a long time working on this album but it may not be that much longer than previous albums. It just seems longer because she is on instagram now and so we know every person she worked with. On previous albums, since she wasn't on instagram we didn't know exactly when she started working on it and didn't know every person she worked with some of whose songs ended up not being used. We as hard core fans are following all the stuff on instagram and speculating, but a lot of more casual fans and just everyday people aren't following all of this.
Agree but in that case Madonna and team should have been smart and realised this. Anticipating an album should be FUN and not torture, and they should have seen to this in my opinion.

I just listened to Dahi's track "Tetris" - and I LOVE it! Alternative/urban vibe, deffo thumbs up!!! It needs a deep bass sound. I can totally see how this could work with Blood Diamonds' style.

How does any of what we know about this album make you think that we're going to get a repeat of Hard Candy ???
A lot was being said about rappers collaborating on this album, and it set off loud Hard Candy alarms in my head. Candy Shop bells and such
Look, Madonna followed up COAD with a so-so urban album and I'm still traumatised by that. On a serious note, nobody knows for sure what this album will sound like, I think we can all agree on that. I wasn't suggesting it WILL sound like or BE Hard Candy 2.0 , so we can all relax now.

I guess they serve a purpose for more casual fans who like just a few of an artist's biggest hits. They may buy it and discover other music they hadn't heard before and then go back and discover all of her older music. I guess that's why there are contractual obligations. But for me as a long term fan they are boring and useless.
I agree for the most part. TIC could be an exception in some ways though. Besides being a collection of her biggest 80's hits it's a look back and refresh of sorts, ushering in the new 'sex era' with the release of Justify My Love, as opposed to GHV2 which is just simply a collection. Comparing GHV2 with TIC, I suppose GHV2 is deservedly underrated.

I've never seen the point of recording a few new songs for a GH album. I really don't like having to buy a whole album to get a few new songs. I'd rather just have a whole album of new songs! It's like why bother!
It's only a contractual obligation anyways, isn't it? I was just looking at the GHV2 tracklisting and remembered that I heard Deeper and Deeper for the first time when it was released in the music stores. So I suppose I should honour it by saying it's what got me to buy Erotica back in 2001.

I don't even have GHV2 in my collection, and I don't see the point of it to be honest. She should have recorded one or two new songs for it, I think. It's a great collection of songs nonetheless!
