  1. Why would you even say this? It's like you don't even know Madonna. She always closes every show with a bang. Everybody. Music. Holiday. Hung Up. Give It 2 Me. Celebration.

There is always a first time! :p

I can see Take a Bow as the closing song for the main set before giving us an orgasmic two song encore of Nothing Really Matters and Living for Love. :drama:

I think she'll open with an intro containing samples from Illuminati and Best Night before kicking things off with Bitch I'm Madonna.

  2. I think people are forgetting that the standard edition of RH contains 14 tracks, while the deluxe edition features 19. The standard edition of MDNA featured 12 tracks and the deluxe featured 16.

This will be the first time Madonna has toured in support of an album that doesn't have a hit single (MDNA had two European hits, but this time around,, only GT can be called a proper hit anywhere, really, and even then, its success has been limited). DWT was very ROL/Music centric, but ROL, Frozen, DW/SFL, BS, Music, DTM and WIFLFAG were all internationally successful, and their parent albums had sold well over 20m copies between them by the time she toured (i.e. the majority of the audience would have been familiar with the majority of the set list). Ultimately, she played 8/10 of the tracks on "Music" (I think you forgot RL, JimmyJimmy), but any artist can get away with playing most of a 10-track album on their latest tour, regardless of how big it is.

I don't remember hearing that Madonna had intended to perform all of ROL on tour in 1999 - I'd love to read the article/interview, though!

Madonna loved AL and declared that it was her favourite album at the time, but she ended up not performing half of the album live and featuring an additional track as an interlude, so anything is possible.

The "standard edition" was a management decision. Madonna and Guy, both said that the 19-track edition is the complete album, the way it was always intended to be. It was different with MDNA.

MDNA didn't have a proper hit either and the only one that can be counted ended up being a 2:00 remixes version of it. This album has a strong concept and message she is trying to convey and I think she will take the opportunity to showcase it on the tour as she already hinted at in her most recent instagram post.

  3. 14 RH tracks (not including your "maybe" selections)? Really? I know you love the album, but there's no way in the world she's going to do 14 songs from just one album. Why do you think she'll do 14+ RH tracks?

Well, she clearly loved the album enough to include 19 songs. It really depends on how passionate she is about it. Back in 1999 it had been confirmed that Madonna was gonna perform ALL of the songs from Ray of Light and some songs from BS, Evita and STR. No classics or only very very few. In 2001 she did exactly that. She was initially going to play all of Music, had it not been for the II/Amazing label disagreement. 24 tracks were played at RIT, one of them being a medley.

I think with a catalogue that contains around 200 songs by now and a new album that has 25 tracks, 19 being on the regular edition she will either have to do very very few classics or cut a lot of the tracks from the supporting album. I think in order for her to fit in enough songs, mashups and medleys are THE perfect and most-satisfying way. Janet has done the same thing on her recent tours. Her setlist had like 30 tracks squeezed into 24 performances. Madonna can do the same thing.

For the MDNA tour she did 10 songs from MDNA and 13 oldies. If some songs are mixed with other songs, anything can happen!

Girl Gone Wild, Gang Bang, I'm Addicted, Some Girls, I Don't Give A, Gimme All Your Luvin', Turn Up the Radio, I'm a Sinner, Beautiful Killer (once), Masterpiece, Love Spent (as part of a medley), Best Friend, Falling Free, Celebration, Revolver

Some Girls was originally in Vogue's place and Falling Free was supposed to be an interlude. All in all that's 13 new tracks that were performed, one way or the other with 15 of them being considered. That's quite a lot, if you ask me. She did a medley of PDP and HU and a medley of LS and LAV. So I believe, this time around it will be the same exact thing, especially with a lot of the 80's tracks.

I don't think video interludes or snippets should count when discussing these things.

Her thing seems to be doing 19 songs live, based on the past 3 tours (21 on RIT including short Lament + Imagine and 18 on DWT without The Funny Song).

On MDNA Tour initially she did 10 new songs (including Revolver & Celebration) and 9 oldies. She did add Love Spent that tipped the balance but in the end it was more like a medley since Like A Virgin got shortened because of it.

So I doubt she'd do it radically different this time around despite the fact that she has the most songs ever recorded for an album...

    HUH? Honestly...you never know.

  4. As we know, M likes to split her tours into different sections.

Apparently, the 5 sections on the RH Tour will be:

    Matador

    Strip Club

    Tank Girl

    Apocalypse

    Party

That is an assumption a member of this forum posted on his website. DM is acting like it's the real thing becuase they don't know shit this time.

    My guess:

    80's NYC Dance Party

    War / Apocalypse (Tank Girl)

    Road Trip

Sin / Baptism (Mix between sexual and religious themes)

    Matador / Ascent to Heaven

Brief explanation of the story line: The tour will be loosely based on the life of our heroine, Madonna, fighting a war against the bondaries of society. The show begins with a party theme inspired by Madonna's beginnings as a club performer looking for fame and basically seducing people to get her way. The section opens with an intro using samples from "Illuminati" and "Best Night" before kicking things off with "Bitch, I'm Madonna" and closing with "Unapologetic Bitch". The first interlude will be "WIFLFAG" which depicts the hardships of women in our society and will lead us directly to the next section which will be the war/apocalypse section. Madonna is fighting for acceptance and dealing with political issues, as well as the trouble that comes with fame and fortune. To close the war section a video interlude for "VVV" is being played symbolizing her triumph. The next section will deal with Madonna going on a road trip through the desert in her "tank", looking for love after having made it "through the wilderness". Kicking things off with "Rebel Heart" and then going into a mashup of "Body Shop" and "Like a Virgin". The section closes with either "Don't Tell Me" or "Love Profusion", maybe even a mashup or medley of the two before another interlude is shown. This time for "S.E.X." which leads us to the next section which will deal with sin, blasphemy, redemption and baptism. So basically a sexual/religious segment. The first song to be performed is "Holy Water" with Madonna being joined by nuns on stripper poles. The last performance of the section will be a medley containing "Devil Pray" and "Like a Prayer" before the next and last interlude is being shown, which will be "Rescue Me". The last section will be the matador section, which deals with heartbreak, death, rebirth and Madonna's final ascent to heaven after ending the show with an extended and highly energetic performance of "Living for Love".

I don't think she will close with Bitch, I'm Madonna. Rebel Heart is much more of a retrospective album and I think the whole "revolution of love" thing and being able to carry on after heartbreak and the hardships you had to go through during your entire life are better encompassed in Living for Love. Bitch, I'm Madonna is her introducing herself, basically.

  5. Devil Pray

    Body Shop

    Iconic

    Unapologetic Bitch

    Holy Water

    HeartBreakCity

    SEX (Interlude)

    Living for Love

    Ghosttown

    Bitch, I'm Madonna

    My bet for the others:

    Rebel Heart

    Veni Vidi Vici (Interlude)

Wash All Over Me / Joan of Arc

maybe Hold Tight / Borrowed Time / Graffiti Heart

I think Inside Out, Best Night, and Messiah will be the ones without a tour performance. A lot of the classics will be squeezed into medleys or mashups. For example: Like a Virgin and Body Shop work perfectly as a mashup.

  6. I can definitely see BIM as the closing song tho! It's such a fun energy song like her closing performances are and seeing how she loves to do sing-alongs she can make the crowd sing "bitch I'm Madonna" for a full minute

LIving for Love will be the closing song, though. It's about carrying on after hardship and heartbreak. It's obvious that she's not gonna open with that but rather close with it.
  7. i'd say d&d will be in the strip club/sex section more likely!?

Nahhh I think it's safe to say she'll put it in the matador section. It makes sense with the lyrics of Living for Love too.

"I can't help falling in love, I fall deeper and deeper...Kisses sent from heaven above make it sweeter and sweeter" - Deeper and Deeper

"Took me to heaven, let me fall down. Now that it's over, I'm gonna carry on." - Living for Love

+ she tagged it with a picture from Take a Bow which points towards inclusion in the Matador segment.

Thats my website, I made some predictions, but MadonnaNow shared it like its a rumor lol xD

A MESS. The thirst is real.

It would fit into the Spanish matador section perfectly.

And WTG and BIM go together. Who's that Girl is the question and Bitch, I'm Madonna is the answer!

I think it may actually end up being part of the party section, alongside Bitch, I'm Madonna. I think we may get a remix of this by Diplo, similar to that La Isla Bonita dubplate.

    Okay I just researched...

    Who’s That Girl

    Like a Virgin

    La Isla Bonita

    Into The Groove

    Justify My Love

    Love Don’t Live Here Anymore

    Deeper and Deeper

    True Blue

    Dress You Up

    Rescue Me

I'm not convinced she'll be doing all of these, I think she was just listening through potential songs. But it's exciting to know she's been checking through stuff she hasn't done recently or at all. I think some massive hits like Vogue, Like a Prayer, Music, Holiday etc are a must though.

TOTALLY! Just when you thought she forgot about some songs...

Anyway, I think some of those may be full songs, some may be samples, snippets, part of medleys, etc. I doubt all of those will get a full performance treatment. Some of them may be considerations too.

+ So far, she hasn't mentioned anything after 1993. I'm pretty sure there will be some mid-late 90's tracks, and a few 00's songs.

Where's my Apocalypse section? I want it RIGHT NOW. I thought we'd be getting some spoilers by now. I want rehearsal pics and stuff, bitch gimmee my spoilers.

I think the sections will be as followed:

    1. NYC / Party

Madonna reminiscing about her early days as a rising star, trying to find friends in the underground club scene. This is where the majority of her 80's stuff will go in. I can see a mashup of everybody and Music being in there and a sort of Latin medley of WTG / LIB / DYU or ITG before closing the segment with Unapologetic Bitch. Most of the versions here would be remixed by Diplo.

    2. War / Apocalypse

Madonna fighting a war against different forms of injustice, dressed as Tank Girl. The section will also work as an anti-war statement ending with Ghosttown and Wash All Over Me.

    3. Road Trip / Love

After all the battles she had to fight the next thing that Madonna is trying to find is true love. She's looking for someone who will take her despite her wounds and scars and will join her on what's ahead of her. Props will include either an oldtimer car or a 60'/70's inspired bus.

    4. Sin / Baptism

This section will be a mix of her typical sexual segments and her religious ones. Nuns on stripper poles, gay priests, etc. The section will close with Devil Pray or Like a Prayer, with Madonna getting baptised to have her sins "washed away".

    5. Matador

A section heavily inspired by Latin culture and the Evita movie. Madonna as an actress who falls in love with a bullfighter. The more she falls in love with him, the further she falls down. In the end he abandones her and she's left all by her self. Deeper and Deeper will open the segment and Take a Bow will close the first half, symbolizing her death until she's reborn during Nothing Really Matters and fighting her last battle during Living for Love before her ascent to heaven.

  8. still waiting on Love Profusion :(

With Body Shop, True Blue, Dress You Up and Like a Virgin appearing on tour, this may actually have quite a good shot!

    http://madonna.blog.hr

That's kind of a DUH tour segment setup... anyone could have thought that up Just from the videos alone and then throw in a "PARTY" segment. lol

EXACTLY! + They're assuming the Matador section will be the opening which makes absolutely no sense listening to Living for Love, Take a Bow and Deeper and Deeper which are likely to appear in that section.
  9. not sure if this has been posted, but do you think all of her tweets and fb posts are a hint at a possible set list?

    Who knows tbh.

It could be her playing with song choices to see how people react to them or actually revealing songs that may appear in some form on the tour setlist. The thing that's sort of weird about this, is that she's kind of upclosed when it comes to her tour setlists. She rarely ever hints at songs included.

Someone needs to do their Madonna 101...

And what exactly does that include? I'm sure I know enough about Madonna, lol. :madgemanson:

  10. @@Carta

Oh hell yeah! I'm very opinionated. Especially when it comes to tour setlist. I have my expectations and my wishes. But I think everyone here does. I'm just really tired of this discussion EVERTIME a new tour is being announced. "She has to do a lot of classics because the casual fans would be disappointed". I mean who the fuck cares? I'm a Madonna fan and I'm selfish. I could care less about going to a show and wanting everyone around me knowing the lyrics. I'd rather have them shut the fuck up and listen and watch the show.

The reason I'm so pushy about RH songs on the tour is a) that it's my third favourite album and I love EVERYTHING about it and b) because I would be incredibly sad to see the majority of it being ignored and never touched again. American Life, Like a Prayer, Ray of Light, Bedtime Stories and Erotica were painful enough. I mean, I love her old songs dearly but she has done Music, Like a Prayer, Ray of Light, Like a Virgin, Holiday, Vogue, La Isla and Hung Up soooo many times already and she has so many other songs in her catalogue that were successful as well and people at the show WILL know them. Most casual fans can't sing along to anything besides Like a Prayer, Holiday and Vogue anyway, so I don't see why she should care so much about them.

I think the main focus should be the sections and what fits in thematically, not some randomized selection from her Celebration CD.

  11. She is not gonna do a GH Tour and you whiners and the fucking casual fans, who should know better are gonna have to deal with it!

Rebel Heart wasn't big but it was critically acclaimed and it has better material than her previous two albums. The album itself is very dear to her too and she is passionate about. I can't see her ignoring it bar 7 song on this concert to please casual fans. There will be sing along moments and if not...who cares? DWT had two classics in total and it was still a spectacle. MDNA didn't have too many big hits either and it was still slick-ass show and ppl loved it.

  12. She has much better dance songs than Ub and holy water.....i don't understand all the love for these 2 songs

Because some people would actually like to see some of the new songs live? Holy Water and Unapologetic Bitch are not dance songs but they have the potential to give us some great tour visuals.

Also, as I said many times already those more "vulgär" songs are a necessary part of the RH theme and therefore should be part of the tour as wellI.

    Regarding my setlist:

I think the first section will be a tribute to early 80's NYC Madonna, a rising star throwing a huge party lol. I still think Illuminati could work as opener but who knows lol...

The second section will be war and apocalypse themed with Madonna dressed as a punky Tank Girl.

Section #3 will be the intimate section with Madonna on a "road trip" in her Trick or old car, something like that.

Section #4 will be sexual and religious featuring pole dancers dressed as nuns and gay monks making out. The section will be closed with Madonna's religious redemption during DP/LAP.

The final section will be the grand theatrical finale and will be heavily inspired by Evita, Latin culture and mythology.

  13. Ladies and gentlemen....

    "The Rebel Heart Tour"

    1. "Bitch, I'm Madonna" (Intro features samples from "Illuminati")

    2. "80's Dance Medley": (Medley remixed by Major Lazer/Diplo, every song will be around 2 minutes long)

    - "Everybody" (with samples from "Holiday")

    - "Into the Groove"

    - "Dress You Up"

    3. "Who's That Girl" (with samples from "La Isla Bonita", Remix by Major Lazer/Diplo)

    4. "Unapologetic Bitch"

    5. "Veni Vidi Vici" (Video Interlude) (Short Remix without rap, features lots of sound effects that go along with the dance moves of the dancers)

    6. "Iconic" (with samples from "Give It 2 Me" and "Human Nature")

    7. "American Life" / "Sorry" (with excerpts from "Borrowed Time" and "4 Minutes")

    8. "Ghosttown"

    9. "Wash All Over Me" (on electric guitar)

    10. "Joan of Arc"

    11. "What It Feels Like for a Girl" (Video Interlude) (Political interlude that addresses ageism, sexism, women's rights, feminism, etc.)

    12. "Rebel Heart"

    13. "Body Shop" / "Like a Virgin" (Mashup/Medley)

    14. "True Blue" (on acoustic guitar)

    15. "Don't Tell Me" / "Love Profusion" (Mashup/Medley)

    16. "S.E.X." (Video Interlude) (with samples from "Girl Gone Wild", "Erotica" and "Act of Contrition")

    17. "Holy Water" (includes longer mid-section of "Vogue")

    18. "Justify My Love" (rock version, with samples from Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" and "The Beat Within")

    19. "Devil Pray" / "Like a Prayer" (with samples from "Devil Wouldn't Recognize You" and "Girl Gone Wild")

    20. "Rescue Me" (Video Interlude)

    21. "Deeper and Deeper" (with samples from "Falling Free")

    22. "Take a Bow"

    23. "HeartBreakCity" (with excerpts from "Love Don't Live Here Anymore")

    24. "Nothing Really Matters"

    25. "Living for Love" (contains elements of Offer Nissim's "Living for Drums" and Offer Nissim's "Living for Drama Remix")

  14. She won't do so many oldies, but she may do some cute little mashups or take parts of other songs.

I think so too. I can see her doing an 80's medley for the BIM/Party section. I'm pissed if she does Like a Virgin again, because she has really done any possible incarnation of that song. La Isla can fuck off too imo. NOT HERE for that.

There are two songs from the 80's that TRULY deserve to be performed imo and those are Everybody and Physical Attraction!!!

Please no holy water and UB...it is a waste of time.....madonna must be very wise with the setlist...no these craps songs..even her fans don't love these.

I could do without UB but it's definitely going to be part of the tour and so is Holy Water. Honestly, I could do with an DWT-esque tour. Fuck the classics this time. RH is a gem in her discography and it needs to be performed. All 19 tracks of it! :queenbitch:

  15. [unapologetic Bitch Mode enabled]

Honestly I'm not here for the old songs. RH is my third favourite album and I want PLENTY of that. The only old songs I want for this tour are Everybody, Take a Bow, Nothing Really Matters, Sorry, Secret and maybe Don't Tell Me. I can honestly do without the 80's songs for this tour. I'd rather have her focus on 90's stuff because THAT has been extremely underperformed and ignored on previous tours.

Holiday, Into the Groove, Like a Virgin, La Isla Bonita, Like a Prayer, Vogue, Human Nature, Ray of Light, Music, Hung Up & Candy Shop can honestly all sit out on this tour. They have all gotten their fair share of performances. It's time for other songs to shine and I honestly don't care about Australia at this point, either. Don't get me wrong I'm very happy that they're finally getting to see her again but it's delusional to think she would include A LOT of classics just for them. If they end up complaining about the lack of calssics, they can fuck off. They should have known better.

    [unapologetic Bitch Mode disabled]

All in all I'm extremely excited for all the great visuals and her teasing some obscure song choices or consideration does in fact hype me up even more. :dramatic:

  16. I know this is an unpopular opinion but for this album I'm perfectly fine if she doesn't do as many old songs. We've gotten 19 AMAZING songs this time around and it would be a shame to see those never ever getting performed like 50% of Erotica, Like a Prayer, Ray of Light and most of Beftime Stories.

Anyway, I think we're in for a lot of Medleys when it comes to older songs. Maybe some shortened version too so she can for more in. The sections I can see for this tour are:

PARTY / 80's / THROWBACK - An ode to her beginnings and her early NYC days

    Illuminati (maybe)

    Bitch, I'm Madonna

    Everybody / Vogue (Medley-Mashup)

Who's That Girl / Dress You Up (Medley, ML Remix similar to the LIB Dubplate)

(maybe a very short version of True Blue)

    Unapologetic Bitch

What It Feels Like for a Girl (Video Interlude addressing ageism, sexism, homo-and transphobia and rape)

WAR / TANK GIRL / JOAN OF ARC

    American Life

Sorry (with samples from Express Yourself)

    Give It 2 Me (maybe)

    Intro / Iconic

    Hold Tight

    Don't Tell Me

    Joan of Arc

    Rebel Heart

    Veni Vidi Vici (retrospective Interlude)

I'm not so sure about the rest. I think there will be one section centered around SIN / RELIGION / APOCALYPSE and a MATADOR section.

    S.E.X.

    Holy Water

    Inside Out (maybe)

    Secret (maybe)

    Devil Pray

    Wash All Over Me

    Ghosttown

    Rescue Me (maybe)

    Like a Prayer (maybe)

    Messiah (Dancers and video interlude)

    MATADOR

HeartBreakCity or Take a Bow or You'll See

    Deeper and Deeper

    Nothing Really Matters

Living for Love (if RM will not be performed I can see it being used as sample during this song)
