4:55 performance?
-
This is very nice but in portuguese
This is fucking amazing! I love how this emphasizes the yin/yang theme of the album! They also perfectly analyzed the sonical style of the tracks so people know what to expect.
-
Thank you, Svperstar !
and here's my little present
FALLING FREE (MDNA TOUR DEMO)
OMG!!!!
-
Oop...looks I've been right once again about two L4L Remixes making the cut over two more actual songs. Too bad Queen will be axed. That was actually one of the really good bonus tracks.
Beautiful Scars on the other hand...I usually hate ppl that whine over the final version but that left-over lounge Instrumental is just awful. It sounds like one of those songs that come with FL Studio or other producer software for free and the whole thing sounds like a last-minute-mashup. Oh and there was actually a lot of praise for the demo and even more devestation when we found out it didn't make the regular album.
-
Yes! Thankfully.
I love when nods to the past get woven into her work... my favorite still being the "Vogue" lyrics during "Deeper And Deeper" (going so far as to include quick flashes of the "Vogue" video on a television within D&D's clip.)
And let me add that "Vogue" makes a lot more sense in the context of "Deeper..." than it does in the middle of "Holy Water".
I don't see how Vogue makes sense in Holy Water either but I don't really mind it. Anyway, has any of you tried singing Fever over it? It fits perfectly.
-
4 additional bonus tracks have leaked!
26. Living for Love (Stripped Down Version) 3:54 <- parts of this were used in the "making of" video
27. Living for Love (Alternate Version) 3:40 <- different ending, but basically the same as the album version
28. Joan of Arc (Acoustic) 4:02 <- BEAUTIFUL!!!!
29. Iconic (Part 2) 4:25 <- same as Iconic (Demo #2) including the raps ( longer cameo by Mike Tyson).
-
Um...
Are we 100% sure that the cover is official. I'm sure they are going to replace it at some point. I mean the single itself isn't even out yet.

http://m.spin.com/articles/madonna-rebel-heart-album-edit-new-track-list/
Posting this here instead of in reviews thread, as there are spoilers.
And thus, the (unofficial?) reviews begin.
I'm sorry but their tracklist literally sucks ass.

Living for Love flows perfectly into Wash All Over Me! Listening to Messiah, HBC, LFL and WAOM back-to-back is like a baptism!
-
It's very obvious isn't it. Love is a battlefield. All those minotaurs represent apparitions or illusions of love (e.g. Guy, Sean, Carlos, Brahim, Jesus etc.) but in the end she is not defeated and her faith in love remains intact.
I thought the exact same! However, I really love how ambiguous the video is in terms of interpration due to its simplicity.
And some idiots here thinking she's copying herself just don't get it. She's completely turned the whole matador thing upside down and has given it a fresh meaning.
"Take a Bow" is completely different. Ugh.
In fact, "Living for Love" song and video are both the complete polar anti-"Take a Bow", and in a sense the perfect companion.
Yup, it's the flipside to Take a Bow.
-
Open the tour with Holy Water please Madonna. Followed by S.E.X. then a funked up Like a Virgin. Let your pussy own that stage.
Illuminati and Holy Water are my top two opening song choices!
-
:dramatic: :dramatic: :dramatic:
It's rather simplistic but it suits the song extremely well abd it's in COLOR! Lovely choreography, very artsy and ambiguous enough in terms of interpretation. She looks stunning and I'm sure the video is going to translate very well onto the Grammy performance!
I'm just glad she is creative and passionate again. A great era is a head of us, guys! This is just the beginning!
Oh, and I kinda take this vid as a hint for a Take a Bow tour performance!
-
WAOM demo is produced by Avicii, it has his sound all over and it sounds cheap and dated, although its obvious that even buried under dreadful production, WAOM is a very strong song lyrically/musically. Now its perfect.
THIS! I hated Avicii's version...but LOVE the album version.
The most embarassing fact about his production is that when you listen to his album you can tell which of his songs he recycled for M. So glad she removed him off the record. The songwriting is beautiful but his production? No.
-
Am I the only one that finds it odd (and a bit disturbing/gross) that Madonna (a survivor of sexual assault) features Mike Tyson (a convicted rapist) on her album?
What I find weird is the fact this is literally your first post.

WHY THE FUCK IS BODY SHOP EXPLICIT?
-
I know it's a horrible thing to say considering that it's a leak of an album that's supposed to come out in 1 month but this was THE BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVER! And now that I'm finally unbanned again I can post my opinion on all of the "new tracks".
I think the songs that improved the most from their demo versions are S.E.X., Holy Water, Body Shop, HeartBreakCity, Borrowed Time, Grafitti Heart & Wash All Over Me. I think those songs have surpassed their demos to a great extend and sounds absoulteley brilliant now.
I like the demo of S.E.X. about as much as the final version I think. Holy Water is OMFG makes me wanna strip on a pole and dance! IT'S SO GOOD! Like 30000x better than the demo but I expected nothing less. Body Shop was a beautiful song even in its demo stage. The subtle touch-up has improved the song to a great extend and I'm actually very surprised at the fact that this song is labled as explicit and that only a few changes made this song so much better. HeartBreakCity is now utter perfection. All it needed was a bit of a punch and that's exactly what it got. Wash All Over Me never really worked as a dance track imo. It just sounded wrong like most of Avicii's production which was literally lifted from one of a few of his own tracks. This version is an anthem and it just beautiful! I can totally see her performing this at Live Earth. Borrowed Time was always a great track and the new mix just gave it the bit of edge it needed! Fucking love it...too bad there wasn't enough room on the album left to include it. Graffiti Heart is now extremely uplifiting, just how it should be! It really makes you feel like you could conquer the world, very Ray of Light-esque.
I'm glad Best Night stayed the way it is. It really didn't need any additional work. Inside Out on the other hand I'm not so sure about. I loved the guitar during the chorus so much. It's much darker now but it sounds kind of hollow...and the "one more time" is annoying. Veni Vidi Vici was always an okay track for me. I don't think it needed any more work done to it and so did M apparently. I don't really like Nas' contribution to the track, especially the intro seems kind of awkward. Hold Tight is just as good as the demo imo, slight improvement but it was a great track right from the start. Rebel Heart is a great song, it really is. I think it's quite overrated, however, especially the demo version. I'm glad there is no Avicii on it, but the fact that it's all folk now makes it look a bit filler-ish tbh. It didn't take away from the great melody and lyrics though. Iconic's second demo was one of my favourite tracks and this version is about as good, I think. I think it still needs to grow on me a bit but I really like it so far. Messiah was never one of my favourite tracks. I wanted it on the album because I can see a lot of people liking it and it certainly belongs on the album. I'm kind of sad the song never really clicked with me. Who knows...maybe after a few more listens it will! Addicted was my favourite demo of the first bunch but once we got all the other stuff I rarely listened to it. I like the new version but I wish it would've been completely redone. I think it could've improved with new production but it's still good the way it is now. Autotune Baby is okay, good enough as a bonus track but definitely not album material. Queen is a nice bonus track as well, but I don't really care for it.
Beautiful Scars has been ruined! This version literally makes the whole songseem like some cheap mash-up. The lyrics don't suit the production and vice-versa. This remake was unnecessary. The same goes for Joan of Arc. Making this song an semi-uptempo song is hideous. The song was cute but kind of boring in its demo form but now it's really just forgettable. Both songs are still good. It's not like they're horrible or anything but they have been slightly downgraded.
I'm still praying that they tracklist is going to change. It has no flow whatsoever. I for once have found my way of ordering the tracks and I can only recommend listen to it that way for the perfect album experience! I know you're probably annoyed at me for saying this over and over again but I really can only recommend you to try it!
1. Illuminati
2. Bitch, I'm Madonna
3. Best Night
4. S.E.X.
5. Holy Water
6. Inside Out
7. Unapologetic Bitch

9. Veni Vidi Vici
10. Living for Love
11. Joan of Arc
12. Body Shop
13. Devil Pray
14. Hold Tight
15. Ghosttown
16. HeartBreakCity
17. Messiah
18. Wash All Over Me
19. Rebel Heart
20. Queen
21. Borrowed Time
22. Grafitti Heart
23. Beautiful Scars
24. Autotune Baby
25. Addicted
All in all this album might be her best effort since COADF or maybe even Music. The songs are everything I wanted for this album and more! ALL OF THE SONGS I WANTED ON THERE ACTUALLY MADE IT! There are 0 fillers or awfully hideous songs! The album is diverse, yet pretty cohesive and current-sounding. It's a great mix of classic Madonna melodies and current/fresh production. Just how a Madonna album should sound like. If this doesn't win anything, then there's clearly something wrong with the world!
-
It will be, thats how critics work
If it turns out that it's only the "clean" version as the UK, US and German Amazon releases imply, they probably won't.
-
Yeah, that thread is like Nazi Germany at this point.
But I couldn't care less about how many versions there are. I'll pick the one I want and that's it. I'm sure it's not as complicated as it seems. Wait for the final announcement.
I just don't want the album's reviews to be based on the fucking chopped and screwed "standard" edition.
-
I'm NEVER going to that messy ablum (w/o demos) thread AGAIN! These bitches are CRAZY...
My problem with this release is not the music, because I fucking love everything about it. Seriously, EVERYTHING! What's pissing me off is the fact that there are like a zillion different editions of RH appearing on amazon all over the world and it's all extremely confusing.

To be confirmed…Looking at the versions from the US, UK and Germany there is going to be a 19-track album and a clean edition of it (I'm assuming that's the 14-track edition). No mention of a "standard edition". The tracklist from Amazon.fr was lifted from iTunes which apparently is still "subject to change". -
What the hell are you guys talking about? I keep saying how much I love the songs and how excited I am. I am only complaining that there are a dozen versions of the album that are all differently labled and that have tracklists that don't seem to make any sense.

I said SHUT THE FUCK UP....
Shut the FUCK UP with your whining, and stop complaining about something you HAVEN'T EVEN HEARD.
Unlike you I HAVE heard a great chunk of the finished album. Now stop being so fucking rude to me, or else I will report you.
Must we trust the taste of somebody who chose Jimmy, Jimmy as his favourite song of all Madona songs to use as a nickname ?
Jimmy Jimmy is not my favourite off of True Blue, in fact I don't give a shit about the song. I like it as a nickname and I love Jimmy Dean.

Well, she did say she planned a double album until the leaked happened. Those are her words, regardless of how bizarre the logic was. If she's releasing 25-26 songs in total, those could very well have been the songs she originally planned on releasing on two discs. In the end, we're getting all of the songs and we live in an age where people make their own playlists, etc., so it's not a big deal.
"Originally I wanted to put everything out together. I have an overabundance of songs, and actually, the reason I wanted to call the record Rebel Heart was because I felt like it explored two very distinct sides of my personality. The rebellious, renegade side of me, and the romantic side of me. In my mind, it was almost like I wanted to do a two-record set. So you get this chunk of songs, and that chunk of songs. That was my original goal. But then all the demos leaked and I can't really go down that road anymore, so I put out (the six songs) first and then, I think a few more songs are going to come out during the time of the Grammys. Then the rest of the album will just come out together (in March), and they'll just get my rebellious and romantic side all mixed in together."
She said that the album was supposed to feel like a two-record set. Note that she uses the terms "in mind" and "almost wanted", which implies that it was not going to happen but rather a mindset that she was in while recording the album. Then she goes on saying that due to the leak she had to release something so she picked out 6 songs that leaked with the first batch not paying attention to how they were supposed to be sequenced and just put them out. The rest of the songs won't be in the correct order (seperated into two halves) either so it's all just going to be a mixed up mess.
UNLESS they decide to change the tracklist AFTERWARDS...as iTunes has implied they will. She was NOT going to make a 25 track double-album but the album was conceived with the two-record concept in mind.

Oh! Ok!
I thought you said people will complain because the demo version is better.
Can't wait to hear the final version!
Well...it depends. I personally think the demo had more of a punch to it. The new version of S.E.X. is quite remiscent of the S&S tour intro. Kind of like a weird, sexy and dark lullaby. Oh...and get ready for another rap.
The new version of Beautiful Scars IS awful. At least that's what it sounded like to me...that disco mix just clashes with the sweet and intimate lyrics...

Have S.E.X., hopefully.
