  1. As a producer I can say that a music video can be easily put together in a few days of hard work in the editing room, but what makes Madonna videos take a long time to be ready is the VFX and more specifically face and body "corrections" something she has been doing heavily since the Confessions era.

Before it was just a smoothing filter to give that overall smothness to her face but in GMAYL and GGW she started going for a full face job which consists is very detailed tracking, masking and smoothing her face frame by frame which takes a few weeks to complete, surprisingly this wasn't used in TUTR, only the usual filters.

If you watch closely the GGW video in HD there are a few "face correction" errors that make her mouth be out of place for a brief moment.

And something else makes her videos take a long time to be ready: she is very demanding and the video won't be released if it's not to her taste, many different cuts are made until she is satisfied.

  2. Well, it's true that maybe one little girl or boy will see the vid and fall in love with her, and the parents have a clean version to buy. To be fair, most of us knew her as little kids, i was 8 years old when i heard Like a Virgin. Of course nor I or my parents could talk English, so she could have sung "i fuck a zillion guys each week" and we all would have sung along :lmao:

And afterwards the kid will go to Youtube and watch Erotica, JML, Blonde Ambition, The Girlie Show and MDNA Tour.

    Makes perfect sense.

  3. But do we only define a comeback album by having commercial success? Obviously we all want her to do amazingly well again, but, as many others have already stated, the most important thing is the quality of the music. If she puts out a musical masterpiece with this (i.e. something much better than Hard Candy or MDNA) and manages to fascinate me as much as her past acclaimed records do, I will consider this a comeback album by all means as well, even if it won't do well in the charts.

No we don't but the comeback I and the other guy wrote about is regarding A HIT, write your own comeback text and F off.

  4. Comeback from what? MDNA went #1 in ovrr 50 countries and she had another HUGE MEGA GROSSING TOUR IN 2012

Madonna also made $125 mollion, more money THAN ANY OTHER CELEBRITY THAT YEAT

    And then theres the Superbowl...

    Comeback from,what?

We are talking comeback in a sense of going #1 with a huge hit that plays on the radio 20 times a day, that clubs play 5 times a night, that people dance to and go wild, with PEOPLE I mean not only Madonna fans. The subject here is not touring or album sales.

The annoying part of these forums is to have to explain everything you write as people seem to have problems with reality as in their minds Madonna is the top selling hugest star when currently she is not and hasn't been since COADF. Again explaining: regarding single and album charts not touring.

  5. Cher is an american darling, "Believe" was a good song, she still looked "normal" for US ageist standards, it was pre illegal download, all gays loved it and made it into a huge hit requesting on radio. Remember that back in the late 90's the only way to listen to a new single was in the radio, unless you wanted to buy the actual single physical CD and carry it with you everywhere.

Times have changed, ageism is stronger these days, everything is a lot faster and more forgettable. Madonna will have to have a really good 1st single and work really hard to make it relevant, but in the end it all goes back to the timelessness of the song, from Madonna people expect anthems and that's what she has to deliver to make it to number 1.

I personally don't care about US charts, I live in Brazil and Hung up was a huge hit here as 4 minutes and even The Beat Goes On (the unreleased demo) played a lot. COADF was really a hit here, HC too so I care about good songs, but they taste better when they are in everyone's mouths.

  6. South american shows were great becasue the public was great and she loved it but she did cut a few songs in Brazil because of the rain (I think it as LAV and LS) and she was sick at the time so she looked tired but tried to do her best as always. Only Chile concert was a disaster, she skipped the whole first part of the show and began with Express Yourself, I would have been very disappointed if I was a chilean fan, she also had a little meltdown when a fan was smoking during the soundcheck.

Which one would be more disastrous for the fans: 1 - cancelling the show 2 - cut one part of the show

If I was there I'd be pissed cause she cut the first segment but there was a reason for that as there was horizontal downpour getting everything wet. People should be glad she didn't cancel that night.

  7. In Rio she was ok.... But in São Paulo she seemed to be already sick.

Then came Porto Alegre and she was a little better. The rest of SA was terrible.

What are you talking about?? In Porto Alegre she almost cancelled as she said during the speech break (search youtube and listen, she was very very ill) and she cut LAV and LS in both São Paulo and Porto Alegre.
