  1. Oh dear.

ARTPOP is a collection of clumsily produced, badly written and simply poor songs that were clearly rushed together in an attempt to let the whole forget about this ridiculous trollop's shamefully gutter attempt at something semi artistic (BTW)

Goggle has no musicality beyond what her producers can rustle up in a coke fuelled haze. Badly playing the piano and screaming at a pitch only Olga can hear notwithstanding.

MDNA will not be ranked among Madonna's best but that's because she didn't give it the time it needed and it was a phoned in effort for the most part. Still, Gang Bang, I'm A Sinner and I'm Addicted take a rather triumphant piss over anything that demented loon will ever do.

Poor Tony Bennet having the twilight of his career infected by her is all I can say.

  2. Quite honestly I think she's sitting very pretty right now.

Leakgate was big news but she combatted it brilliantly with her Itunes release. As it stands, she has the world's attention through something official, there is an Itunes banner and countless articles and press on the new songs, she's even doing interviews to bring it more attention. In some ways this has to be one of her smartest EVER moves. She's #1 everywhere pretty much.

Now even if the rest of these collected demos slip out, it's kinda irrelevant. The masses don't search for that type of thing and because there is only a few left, it can't make big news again.

Because she took charge of the situation and released it officially she won the battle. I don't want anything else to leak but if it does, it'll garner little to no attention other than twitter or that trash atrl which after which it'll be forgotten.

Honestly if a couple more demos leak then I wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't even find out about it.

Madonna's Itunes success is buzzing, the leaks are under the radar (quite frankly where they belong)

I do hope those responsible are penalised in some way however.

  3. These songs, including the leaks we heard remind me of a charm and quality in her music that I personally believe has been lacking since the Music era. I'm not saying her subsequent work has been bad at all (quite the opposite) but 2008 onwards had a different feel that was very....how do I put this, mainstream?

Sounds silly because she's a mainstream pop artist but it felt like anyone could follow it.

This feels like it's for the fans. This is MADONNA. It's a quintessential sound and there's such a charm here.

Exciting times. She's got a hunger again, I can hear it.

  4. I don't really post here very often (more of a lurker really!) but just wanted to say how proud I am of Madonna that she turned the week from hell into one of the most surprising and celebratory moments of her entire career.

The songs are great (particularly LFL) the album art is beautiful and I couldn't be happier as a longtime fan.

She truly is the pinnacle. LONG LIVE THE QUEEN.

  5. I think if it was put into production right now it might be a cool concept to have a movie that focused on Madonna as an aging star (possibly played by Kate Winslet?) dealing with maintaining her superstar image while raising a family and dealing with the continuing tribulations of fame.

As it would be a biopic the younger her could definitely be played by Sky Ferreria. They could recreate the tours, the videos, focus on the feuds, divorces and giving birth.

It'll never happen while she's alive (she's too relevant and constant in the conciousness of the public) but if it was done right it could be a HELL of a movie.

  6. I really like One More Chance, I see why some don't though. It does have this feeling that it should be sung by someone else. Nonetheless I think she carries it off well.

Just by the sheer hype behind it and it's subsequent infamy in her iconography, I think Give Me All Your Luvin has to take the title. While it's not even necessarily a bad pop ditty, lets just say it is to Madonna what Trog was to Joan Crawford :stir:

  7. Crazy For You is THAT SONG!!!!

Quintessential 80, quintessential Madonna...the quintessential hit!

Every thing about it is just right. The instrumental that soars along with her vocal in the chorus and I especially love the ending where her vocal grows and grows to that last unexpected belt "Touch me once and you'll KNOW its true"

I really feel that this is such a gem in her discography. I remember reading in a book on M (maybe it was the taraborelli bio, I'm not sure?) when he actually compares it to Aretha Franklin. Madonna can't hit the notes Aretha can but she delivers this song as passionately, assurely and as emotively as Franklin would have.

To me it represents an important move in her career to. The versatility. She's the disco dolly who became the grandest queen of them all and this song which came just before the icon solidifying True Blue era was an important insight (even only now in retrospect maybe) that she was going to be more than a one trick pony.

  8. I'm pleased he won't be working on this album. He is wonderful and together in that space they had all those years ago they were magic but the beauty of Madonna is evolution, sure that concept has has its missteps but whether it works or not it'll be something she hasn't tried before and that's obviously important to her.
