  1. Anyone else get the feeling Chelsea handler secretly wants to be Madonna's bff? She always goes to her oscar parties yet always talks shit about her like shes too cool for Madonna. Her comments about M always seemed contrived to me.

yes...in her books she casually mentioned her but never outright disses her...

  2. From June 15:

Madonna has recorded enough songs to make two or three albums, but like a photographer, more is better since there is more to choose from in the end. All I know is that Interscope is very impressed with what they have heard, and that’s not just PR hype. We often hear of how “great” an album is by an artist’s PR team and when the album is released, it’s not so good. Madonna’s MDNA is a good example. Early hype and early reviews had the album compared to Ray of Light. But when reality hit, it wasn’t nearly as well received.

However, the good buzz for Madonna’s next project comes from within Interscope. But they are concerned and confused about how the album should be marketed. Should it concentrate on the adult contemporary songs she has recorded (there are quite a few)? If nothing but EDM songs make the final cut, will she be accused of recording another MDNA? Interscope knows that radio won’t play the songs, so they are looking to market the songs in other ways.

One of the songs will likely be used for an upcoming movie. Given how Interscope turned the fortunes of Lady Gaga’s “Applause” around by featuring it in a KIA commercial, you can bet they will use the same method for Madonna. There will be some performances, but not many; Madonna’s management and Interscope are aware of how much Madonna is bashed after any performance she gives these days.

Madonna would be wise to learn from the mistakes of Mariah Carey, Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears and other divas, who face an increasingly ageist music industry. If she wants the album to be any type of success, she has to tone down her image. She has been stuck in a “Look at Me!” rut that is turning off some fans who have stood with her since the beginning. This isn’t about ageism, which I admit Madonna is a victim of more than any other pop star in music history. This is about creativity. Madonna ‘s biggest strength has always been the ability to reinvent herself so much that she comes across as fresh both musically and aesthetically. Her current incarnation has run its course into the ground.

She also has to market the album to her audience, which is largely made up of adults in their 40s and 50s. Marketing the album to teenagers (which she has done for her past two albums) will be a nail in the album’s coffin.

In any case, Madonna is no doubt putting more effort into her latest album than she has in years. Let’s just hope the efforts pay off.

some valid points in there....however her audience is late 20's-50's ...I think 30's is the most concentrated demographic

  3. the important thing to remember is that most people and famous people like and respect Madonna.

Howard Stern is obsessed with asking any of his guest who know Madonna probing questions about her...he would love to be in the same room with her.

Chelsea Handler too...shes another one who talks shit but would take a shit in her pants if madonna was in the same room with her. I think chelsea has a cynical attitude about everybody...shes aluded to being a fan as a kid in her books...

  4. The thing that bums me out a little bit about Madonnagram is that it's deflated my perception that she doesn't really think about her past (in terms of her career/work/etc.). It took me a while to learn to like the fact that she just focuses on the present, but Instagram makes me think she spends more time trolling herself on the internet and in her photo albums than she used to let on.

I like that she is reminiscing , like a lot of us do on Throwback Thursday :superman:

I for one am waiting with bated breath for the autobiography....maybe it will be volumes, released quarterly over a span of two years... :headbang:

  5. alright what im gonna say now isnt specifically about people here but just in general. what is it with those obvious non-fans always trying to come for the stupid "but MJ is not your boo he hated you, called you a witch" BS??? and what do they think that makes of MJ as a person?

and how is madonna wrong for praising MJ? it's like the woman cant do anything right with some people. (well, most people)

and... whenever madonna says one negative thing (that hardly ever is even negative, sometimes just playful) about another artist she's the evil one. someone explain that logic to me please?

that never made sense to me. and also when people say shit about M it's in their world always justified. opposite happens and she's the bitter desperate bitch. think of mariah, cher, whitney.. they all said nasty shit about her but madonna is somehow the evil queen. fuck that bullshit!

and obviously if he didnt like her he wouldnt go out with her and smile with her to photographers..

why is someone automatically and obviously a 'non-fan' just because they have a point of view that differs from the PC rainbows and butterflies perspective of Madonna. the truth is that Madonna and Michael had a nice friendship for sometime but it turned ugly. on both sides. and she never really went out of her way to befriend him afterwards (that we know of)...and then he died. like most relationships in the world, when someone dies, the problems that were present seem so stupid. I think that's where Madonna is. I think she really deep down respects Michael and regrets not talking to him for as long as she did. some Jackson fans and some Madonna fans, don't see it that way and jump to be cynical/skeptical...but that's okay, it doesn't mean they are less of a fan.

  6. This was a down moment for the Queen. Thank god for live 8 and confessions that followed. She had a lot of fans worried during the American life (even though this album is my fav) and then this sell out shit

I was a Britney fan, so I was rooting for both of them on this track. The video is the biggest problem.
