LOL I love that cover, she looks gorgeous.
-
It's not the official cover, I think it's fan made. The picture is from the Harper's Bazaar session last year.
-
Maybe the instrumental part of Frozen is not a ballad, but the vocal melody sounds like one.
I really doubt Messiah is an uptempo song, those lyrics seems to fit better in a slow song.
-
Those are beautiful lyrics and the snippet sounded exciting. Anyway, I wouldn't say that Messiah is representative of the main album's theme, it could be the "Falling Free" of the new album, a beautiful outsider.
-
Isn't this Messiah the same classic song by George Frideric Handel?
-
Out of topic. During MDNA era I always checked Madonnarama for news but with this era they are sooo slow, they have not even posted the Messiah pic and video yet...
-
Obviously they have said that the new album will be related to Art For Freedom, but what some of us are suggesting is that Messiah could be related only to AFF and not the new album.
-
Yeah, this Messiah thing is kind of confusing. I hope it's not related to Art for Freedom, it's a nice project but she should be more focused in the new album.
And who is the producer? Diplo is in Brazil and Avicii is touring, so it has to be another one.
-
If you follow Diplo on instagram or twitter you will see he is very sarcastic, he was probably joking when he said that "Bith I'm Madonna" thing. Although after I Don't Give A and Gang Bang everything is possible.
-
Most of the times I don't even know how the fights start. I see a bunch of completely normal opinions, a few ironic comments and then suddenly a cruel and bloody war starts...
Back on topic. Don't forget that Orbit produced Gang Bang, Love Spent, and Falling Free the three most praised songs in the album...at least they are my favorite., It seems you're only focusing on Some Girls which is kind of lazy and Masterpiece that is too monotone.
-
you're wasting your time even when her collaborators have nothing but praise for her work as a songwriter/producer (like william in the interview posted in this thread - and this is only the last one from a very very long list), how much she is in control and how much she IS talented and actually is one of the few popstars that writes lyrics, melodies and actually produces her music, some "fans" keep questioning her talent and involvement during the making of her albums
I know some of them are pretty bad I was just making the point that she HAS actually written some songs on her own.
-
I think I always used to give her too much credit. I always assumed it was kind of 50/50 when she listed as a co writer. When there are so many examples where she just changed a few lyrics, like with Don't Tell Me, Ray of Light, etc.
And she has never written/produced a song by herself.
Not being negative, just being realistic. It wouldn't bother me if she started recording music where she had little input into the process.
Well, she may not have produced a song by herself but she wrote Lucky Star, Everybody, I Know It, Think Of Me, Burning Up, Shoo Bee Doo and Gambler by herself.
-
I think that the general public underestimate Madonna's talent as a lyricist and producer, yes she may not be the one that makes technical work or write the lyrics out of nowhere, but she knows what she wants, how she wants the songs to sound, she probably decides where to put more drums, or strings or a synthline, she twitches the lyrics to make them more personal.
Madonna is not Rihanna who only receives the songs and just puts her voice on them, Madonna works all day and night with her team and takes part in the decisions.
And back on topic. Orbit's songs in MDNA are the best (except for Some Girls), the only songs from the other producers that compete with his are I Don't Give A, I'm Addicted and Beautiful Killer. MDNA could have been much better if Superstar, Some Girls and GMAYL would have been replaced with Beautiful Killer, I Fucked Up and Best Friend.

Well, it sounds like M to me, but early 90's M, maybe a leftover from Erotica or Bedtime.
-
Sometimes I prefer the off topic non sense than the bitching non sense.
-
New album thread: "official" information. UPDATE: Age of Madonna fans and how they look like.
-
I'm afraid Madonna will be sued because she ripped the "unapologetic bitch" line off from this snippet...I mean, everyone can hear those lyrics in the song
-
Her hair is not that short guys, go to her instagram and look for the first picture of her haircut, it's more like the What it feels like for a girl video look, or maybe Jump.
-
I was thinking about that, I think that even the judge wouldn't concentrate, I mean, it's Madonna, even the non fans know her.
-
I say it's Nile Rodgers. He is a legend as a produced and he has made funky pop songs before.
-
If you listen to the snippet backwards you can clearly hear "that bitch was reborn and I came from hell to shoot him in the head again, unapologetic, getic, getic, bitch"
-
Am I the only one who thinks the shape shifting legend could be Nile Rodgers? I mean he produced albums for Madonna and David Bowie so he helped to change pop music history, he also worked with Daft Punk in Random Access Memories.
-
I've just noticed the return of her beauty mark in the photo shoot...and her nipple looks unnaturally big and smooth.
-
I am very excited as well, I would love songs with introspective and kind of social lyrics like American Life or Ray Of Light albums. Of course I wouldn't mind a few songs with less serious topics, even Ray Of Light had Candy Perfume Girl (which has waaay better lyrics than GMAYL and GGW).
Is Messiah going to be the first single? Will it have a "Frozen" effect?

My favorite Bond songs are The Living Daylights, The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day.
And I agree, Madonna soundtrack songs are great, whether they're are ballads or mid/uptempo and if Messiah is for a movie it will surely be great.
