The article says that it is the "sixth video (so far)"   Hopefully that truly is a hint and not a just a comment.

Well, I doubt they have "insider infos" about it. It is more likely this was the last video of this era. There is no reason to be sad though, because all the videos were great

Can i just say this album will age magnificently you can just sense that.

I took a week break from it and listened to it again it’s such a great piece of work. Bravo Madonna!👏

Hi, I did it as well and was super excited when listening to the album again. It is really great. After one month I can say it belongs easily to my top 5  Madonna albums

  3. Well, it keeps changing but there is a "center of gravity" which consists of God Control (I listen to this song everyday), Crazy (I love it since I have first listened to it), Extreme Occident, Batuka and Killers who are partying. But regarding the whole album I love all songs though (except one last favorite song). I love the album so much that everytime I finish listening to it I have the feeling it is too short...

I'm sorry to bring that up but in French, "ele faz" sounds like "et les vaches", which means "and the cows"

LMFAO but actually "ele" is pronounced in Brazilian portuguese mostly like "eli" (generally speaking an e at the end of a word sounds like a very short and light "ee", like ink, inn, ill etc). But I get what you mean 😉

I think these reviewers heard Dark Ballet, realised there was no Hung Up and saw the eye-patch and it was too much for their tiny minds.

I think you're right. Shame on me for thinking they heard the whole thing

It  looks like many reviewers didn't listened to the album. At best they listened to a few seconds of some songs, just for a "good conscience". It is a shame because I think it is better not to write anything at all if you as a "professional" don't do your job right. They ended up just reviewing what they imagined the album is based on their personal (and probably distorted) opinion on Madonna. I think that even if you don't sympathise with an artist this don't necessarily mean that you can't write about their work in a professional way (if you are really interested in understanding their work), if you do so even a negative review will reveal interesting aspects and this is exactly how I see if someone really did their job. Many articles show exactly the opposite: they just want to write anything about the album without trying to understand it.

I can´t see an american artist shooting a video in brazil without showing fabelas/carnival...but she shot a video for a song called medellin in portugal, so who knows, it may end having a video with take a bow´s third part!!! the bullfighter follows madonna to brazil!!!😂

Well, if a video is being shot I really hope there is no Carnival theme because carnival only works in its context, otherwise it really looks ridiculous. Besides Faz Gostoso is funk carioca and Carnival has its own music (which btw is different in each region of Brazil). Favela is an acceptable reference in this case because funk carioca is associated with it. I'd rather they would do something random (Madge and Anitta dancing with a Bullfighter a la TAB/ LFL 🤣) than doing something with bad taste envolving samba and carnival

Siegessäule, Berlin’s leading lgbtq magazine, reviewed Madame X. It’s not a major publication of course, but quite popular in Berlin. I was a bit worried, because they were very negativ about the last albums and have basically been rather hostile in the past. So to my surprise, they gave the album a stellar review. Calling it a Masterpiece and a true return to form. The Madonna magic is back. They actually reviewed each track

They basically split her career into three parts. Albums where she brilliantly combined risk and pop mainstream (LAP, ROL, Music, COADF), albums with which she went to far for the mainstream but were loved by the fans (Erotica, American Life), and albums that seemed defensive, trend chasing, trying to make up for lost grounds (BS, HC, MDNA, RH). Madame X won’t move the masses, but like Erotica and American Life, it’s an album that will ensure the love of her fans.

BMA was amazing, but it didn’t grasp general public with the song. Eurovision was a flop. Pride was great but a bit too serious. So maybe her management will push her to do more promo afterall. Bitch Im Madonna saved Rebel Heart era, so maybe she should perform Faz Gostoso in Brazil or something.

I honestly doubt the big promo is over. Just because we are not aware of what is yet to come, doesn’t mean there’s nothing being planned. Like I said earlier, M is experimenting with this new style of touring. I really think that a wider selection of cities is yet to be added to Madame X tour. She’ll have to do some promos here and there when that time comes.

I got really excited after the incredible BMA performance and - as expected - was totally in shock after Eurovision (still everyone who I know here in Germany talks and asks me about my opinion on Eurovison. IMO this shows how big ESC is here and unfortunately how negative it turned for the MX campagne), Pride was fantastic but too small.  What is still open...VMA? I personally think that even if her team has some surprises, nothing  - unless there is something really special - will be as big as BMA or Eurovison. For sure there will be some promo, but also nothing big. I really hope they don't let MX die because the album deserves being promoted. The question is if Madonna is interested in doing promo. I wouldn't be surprised if she and her team rely on the idea that the residencies will generate interest on the tour, so to say the tour will auto promote itself. I really hope there is still more good promo and surprises to keep MX alive. As much as I (as a fan) love getting new videos from M and feel spoiled this era with so many fantastic videos, this is not a promo strategy that will reach broader audiences, releasing videos is not enough to promote MX

    No.

We still have Batuka video yet to be released and I’m pretty sure she’ll do more TV appearance/performances later on to advertise a second leg of her tour. I doubt she’ll only do small theaters in select cities. Madame X is here to stay for a long time.

But what could she do in terms of promotion that would expose her to a broader audience? Which talk shows? Is there anything confirmed? I doubt it a little bit, as she has done no performances on TV this time. I don't think it will now suddenly change. In this sense I also believe the (big) promotion is done. BMA, Eurovision and Pride were the big exposure channels for her and unless I am mistaken there is nothing like these till the tour starts.

The refrain always makes me smile cuz she pronounces "selvagem" (wild) like "só vagem" (just stringbean). :chuckle:

I always smile a little bit at this part too, but I think it is cute. I think the explanation is that someone who speaks portuguese from Portugal taught Madonna the pronounciation. The Portuguese pronounce an "e" like a closed "â" and the "l" has a special sound, different from Spanish or English. It is very difficult to pronounce the combination "el" like the Portuguese do and very often people who learn Portuguese pronounce this combinationn like an "ó", just like Madonna does. She has overall a good pronounciation but she does it better when she sings in "brazilian" portuguese

  11. Now, after almost two weeks listening to MX (I listened to the album non-stop the first week and then not so intensively after that), I can say I have a concrete feeling and opinion about it. This album is much more than I expected and it surprised me in different ways. I don't think it is perfect, but this is something I like a lot about Madonna's albums. For me it belongs to her best albums, specially sonically and conceptually. It has strong messages, that unfortunatelly can be misunderstood (for instance Killers who are partying). It is a very human album, appealling to humanity and I think that the "world music" sound/aspect fits this humanity character very well. I still can't say for sure if I think it is better than the one or the other album, specially because Madonna's albums (with a few exceptions) always fluctuate in me: sometimes I like the one album more than the others. But what I can say is that it definitely belongs to my top 5 and for me it is the best album since Confessions. Although I love many songs of Rebel Heart and a few songs of MDNA (this is in fact my least favorite Madonna Album) I feel these albums doesn't have a clear concept (specially MDNA, Rebel Heart suffered from the leaks) and the concepts behind Madonna's albums are always very important to me (Erotica for instance is unbelieveably incredible). Confessions seems to be the last album where music and concept worked well (repeating: imo Rebel Heart was on the right way but due to the leaks it didn't turned out what Madonna wanted it to be).

I really love MX and am very proud of Madonna.

I just checked at the news stand. It should be out on Thursday with the new Issue of Die Zeit.

My hubby signs Die Zeit!!! I am looking forward to getting this issue!!!!

Edit: hopefully is well done and written, because I am done with bad written articles...

  13. I simply adore this album and - independent of the initial excitement  - it is in fact an instant classic Madonna album. Today I was in the car with someone who was listening to the radio and I couldn't believe my ears, how bad and bland every "modern" song sounded compared to any song on Madame X. It is not necessary to be a Madonna fan to see that and everyone who says the album isn't good is doing that because they obviously don't like Madonna. The album is simply fantastic.
