  1. What I'm realizing by reading through this thread is that I think I put too much focus on other aspects of her songs, like the melody, her voice, and memorizing lyrics, and don't actually pay enough attention to meaning behind them. By isolating them here to read in black and white, I'm blown away all over again by her masterful songwriting. :dramatic:

Madonna is such an amazing SONGWRITER! Sadly, it seems like so many people completely ignore the fact that she writes her own songs and accuse her of only being a product of a team or only really good at marketing. In reality, she has an incredible catalog of songs with deep meaning and beautiful wordplay which show what a true artist she really is.

  2. Somehow we lost the first four lines of the song. Here's the whole thing as it stands:

I just woke up from a fuzzy dream
    Say Goodbye!
Don't hold on to the past
    That's too much to ask

    My sugar is raw
    I`ll be your Mistress tonight.

    So won't you go down
Baby hurry up, cause I can't get enough
    Kisses sent from heaven above
    They cut like a knife
Our luck is running out of time.

I don't know what to do
Now what could be better than a home cooked meal
Fill up your cup and lets drink the wine
    Let's get unconscious honey
And I know there is nothing to fear

Fate fits karma so use it
Live out your fantasy here with me
    You can just spank me
Bend over baby, I'm gonna make you smile

Sometimes I think what I need is a you intervention, yeah
Feel it in your body, sing la dee da dee
My bottom hurts just thinking about it

Every girl should experience eating out

I like to singy singy singy

  3. People tend to be very one dimensional about things. It's like a catch 22, since HC people have been complaining that a woman her age should be singing more than just about dancing and having fun. Back with AL they said that as a pop star she has no right to speak on political affairs.

I came to the conclusion long ago that some people are going to criticize and try to put down Madonna no matter what she does. She's just so subversive and iconic that's there's always going to be a group of people who can't stand her.

  4. Damn! I haven't seen that one! I don't know about that….I was thinking more like a rebellious wannabe guitarist pot-smoking dude in his mid to late 20s. That seems to be Lola's crowd these days. She sure loves the ganja! :queenbitch:

I could definitely see that happening - I'm sure she'd consider herself too sophisticated for the (mostly midwestern) inexperienced UMich freshmen. I wonder if her ideal age is 25-26, like her dear old mum.

  5. This will be my first time seeing her! Crazy, I know. I was meant to go to MDNA but I had driver's ed and couldn't reschedule so I had to give up my tickets last minute that I had bought like 8 months before. I was so pissed. I HAVE to go this time and now that I'll be living in NYC I'm pretty sure I can make it happen without any hiccups.

You gave up MDNA tickets to go to driver's ed?

I don't care if I had to start driver's ed all over again, I would've gone instead. Yes, I would have spent an additional 3-4 months and hundreds of dollars to get my license in order to see Madonna in concert. That's how much of a loon I am.

That being said, at least we'll both be in NYC for our first M concerts!
