One of my all time favorites like everyone else. Only I did not really appreciate it at the time it was released so much.
Really wish the rest of the album had more of the Andre Betts tracks.

Like a Prayer to me is overrated. I prefer True Blue (despite JJ)
American Life wasn't so bad a lead single (as was discussed on the first page). I first heard it on the radio, I thought wow, this sucks. But then a few months later, I was at a restaurant, and It was playing really loud. All you could hear was the beat and I thought, wow, this sounds really cool without the lyrics!
Music is my favorite Madonna album

I DID like the S&S tribute, but that's about it.

YES, that and the post right above were the BEST.

I would like her to tackle new subjects in her songwriting besides the usual suspects: love, sex, fame, dancing, etc.
But I would rather she didn't.
-
I didn't mean it was because of Madonna.
I just meant I couldn't think of another example where a producer had worked with her and then had major hits with other artists afterwards.
And I know Pharrell had been around a long time, but I would definitely say his career is at its peak right now. Two of the biggest hits of last year, the biggest of this year, etc. Maybe I definitely prefer his newer work to his earlier work.

I don't think the Disclosure "Hmmm" comment is special in anyway. They are a very young band and they might think that working with Madonna would be too big a challenge/risk. I think they may just be trying to forge their own identity and avoid labels. They may not even like her music. Not everyone wants to work with Madonna.
Probably.
That's the problem, when they are getting offers from everybody, they are going to go with ones who can make them the most money/get the most radio play, etc.
And I think Pharrell is the first producer who's ever gotten bigger after working with her. Usually it doesn't seem to be a good career move.

Say wha?! Imagine if Hard Candy only had Timbaland tracks!
I agree, I like Pharell's work much better. But it's not on the level of "Happy" or "Sing" by Ed Sheeran (which I just found out Pharell produced as well).
-
I think she was better than the movie itself. It could have been better, but the storyline was a little silly. Charging someone for sexing people to death?
But there were a lot of other good actors in it, and Madonna herself seemed very natural on screen. No odd accents/wooden delivery which has killed other movies she has starred in.
With a better script, it might have been better reviewed, been more successful.

I was disappointed with Disclosure not being included at first, but I think they've already peaked with "Latch".
Besides, knowing Diplo was behind "Too Close" is great news, and I already loved "Paper Planes", this is much more exciting than any of the rumors for Hard Candy or MDNA.
I would be excited about Pharell NOW, it's too bad they didn't really do anything great together.

One of my favorites off ROL my first thought was that I also prefer it to POG.
It has a moody, downbeat vibe similar to a lot of the BS album, only I didn't really like a lot of those songs when I do this one for some reason.
I tend to strongly prefer the songs on ROL that Pat was NOT involved with for some reason, but that's a whole different topic.
-
I always like it when I listen to Confessions or come across it randomly, but it's not a song I ever seek out to listen to on its own.
-
Fans say these things after she works with Sloveig and delivers TUTR and GMAYL. And when she works with Timbaland and gives us Nelly Furtado left overs.
I agree, that's why I think she should have had to wisdom to realize those Timbaland/JT tracks were terrible and produced more of the album with Pharell or someone else.

She wrote Everybody/Burning Up with Steve Bray, for sure, they just made some deal where he took credit for some and she did for others. Not sure about Lucky Star.
But at least those were true collaborations, not just take a demo, change a lyric situations.
Shoo Be Doo and Gambler are some of her worst songs ever.
-
I think I always used to give her too much credit. I always assumed it was kind of 50/50 when she listed as a co writer. When there are so many examples where she just changed a few lyrics, like with Don't Tell Me, Ray of Light, etc.
And she has never written/produced a song by herself.
Not being negative, just being realistic. It wouldn't bother me if she started recording music where she had little input into the process.

Also, Nile said once a technician walked out of the room and Madonna loudly asked where the fuck was he going? Nile became mad and almost quit the project.
Even though he always talks about how much he admires her and wants to work with her again, anyway.
-
It seems wrong that she isn't involved with Nile for this project somehow, since he is not only very in demand as a producer again, but has said he really wants to work with her again.
-
I think she is taking this very, very seriously. She knows she really needs an album that is at least well received again by her fanbase, if not the general public.
I am more excited to hear this one than I was for MDNA, too, not sure why.
-
Really enjoy this song. Not a lyrical masterpiece or anything, but I love the imagery of the words and the production. Seems to me she sounded her best vocally with the Orbit songs, especially of this time period. Of course, I'm a huge fan of everything she and Orbit did together, maybe even moreso than with Pat.
Wish this would've have made the Music album, along with Cyberraga and possibly American Pie. Music is already my favorite album of hers, so it would have been even better! She could have ditched Nobody's Perfect and Runaway Lover if necessary.
-
Nothing new convinces me that it is NOT her.
All the Billboard clues point to her.
Just because other people were involved prior, doesn't mean she couldn't have it now. The whole Music album she basically just took Mirwais own songs and re-did them.
It sounds like something she would release.
The timing is just too coincidental, with all the other things she has posted on Instragram, etc.
-
I remember the Music album being compared to daft punk before I had even heard of them.
-
I'm really starting to like it, it's becoming one of my favorites. And I did not know what to make of it at all when it was released.
-
The other day I saw a copy of MDNA (regular version) in the clearance aisle of a Walgreens's for $3.50. I didn't even know they sold music!

Now THAT is unpopular!
I even liked the LAP song itself before I liked Madonna.
