It's still debuting at #1 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart, for week ending June 29th, 2019.
The official announcement may not come out until tomorrow or this weekend, but she should be getting her 9th #1 album in the US.
The Hot 100 chart you are referencing only tracks singles/songs, not albums, but I get what you meant.
Can't wait for verification!! Madame X's first milestone.

I just fucking love this album so much, and I was worried. Everything in between the release of Medellin and Dark Ballet left me cold at first, but in the context of this brilliant ALBUM—the making of an album becoming a lost art and all—those songs are like puzzle pieces I didn't realize were puzzle pieces.
Fucking floored by our M. Long will she reign.

Yes, but what songs... with Hung Up already a classic in 2007. Not Future with Quavo and I Rise.
Both I Rise and Future are lowlights for me on Madame X, but she will destroy with her performance regardless.

Jesus, people. M. did 4 songs at live Earth and it was almost 30 minutes long and amazing despite Hey You.
Calm the fuck down.
-
I skimmed it a bit and started cackling at her "cultural appropriation" of musical genres and she wants her own - We Belong Together?
Pressed lamb = gyro, and this one is overdone.

Me too. I wasn't expecting to love Come Alive as most of the reviews, from what I remember, didn't pay it much attention but it's amazing.
Yes! It certainly wasn't one of the more publicized tracks but Jesus...
M. is one of those artists who just has that power for me. She knows exactly where my heart is at any given time and she has an arrow for it and is always ready to pierce said heart. Come Alive did, and I didn't even know I needed to hear it so bad.
I am loving Madame X so far, btw (finally home from work) and I was worried. She's killing it and me! I haven't been this thrilled since COADF. That's not a knock on years of great tracks, but this is an album, mofos!!!

Not linking to the Yahoo review which is just full on sexist drivel. Her Billboard speech rings truer by the day and year.

The choir-esque ending of Come Alive had me crying at my desk. So beautiful.

Loving, loving, LOOOOOOOVING it so far. I am at work so my experience keeps getting interrupted so I can't wait to go home and listen front-to-back, as it were. Extreme Occident and Faz Gostoso are KILLING ME!!!
And Future and Crave sound better in context here, they've both grown on me.
Oh, and I noticed Springsteen took iTunes #1 so I bought it there, too. In your face, Bruce!

But a physical copy (or more) but then also stream like crazy from a paid service. That the best option.
Cool, thank you.
SO EXCITED!!! Two more days!!!

So, and I am sure this was answered somewhere so apologize, but I bought the album on Amazon but was thinking I will delete it and just stream the fuck out of it as that sale will count regardless, right?
And I would love her to hit #1, but if she doesn't, meh. I am hoping Madame X will be heralded come Grammy time, which does boost sales, too, it seems.

I'm still living in Medellin with my friends in the Dark Ballet company, but I must admit, Crave is working its way up my personal chart, slowly and surely–and I really disliked it upon release.

Love. Love. Love. Love. Love. Love. Love. Love. Love. Love. Love. Love.
Every second.

I know what you mean but I'm playing them in the background and actually they work together. I'm surprised four mid tempo songs have been released in succession and I'm still hoping there will be some instant classics on the album.
However, I remember being the same with bedtime stories - no uptempo pop songs but that's become one of my favourite albums, way above Ray of light.
They do start to grow on you. Have a drink or three and put them on in the background!
I'm hoping for the same - that it will grow on me. As others have said, I don't think there's been a Madonna album without maybe one song I at least skip if not dislike, but I just don't get everything after Medellin. But I do intend to listen to all of it in its entirety, the way M. wants the album heard and that can change the way I think about tracks and the work as a whole.
I dunno I just feel like a stranger in a strange land. Like, 4 Minutes and GMAYL did nothing for me, but I knew there's was more coming that I would indeed love and did - Candy Shop, Give it 2 Me, Addicted, Gang Bang, Love Spent... but I dunno. Medellin set my hopes high and I ain't digging the followups...
SOMEBODY HOLD ME!!!! WHAT'S HAPPENING TO ME!?!?!?!!

Awww I am sorry to hear this. I can’t imagine not liking Madonna’s songs, especially three in a row, but I would probably be sad if that happened.
Maybe you will end up loving the rest of the album when it comes out on June 14! Plus you have Dark Ballet to look forward to on June 7th!
Thank you. I hate feeling this way, and I am surprised by it as Medellin floored me with its awesomeness, but I am excited to hear Madame X in its entirety. Mirwais will Rescue Me—I believe in the power of (his) love!
-
So, with Future being the third clunker in a row for me I am worried about the album. I guess I am predisposed to like the Mirwais stuff which means I may get an EP of music I like out of Madame X.
I'm actually very, very sad right now. Sorry to be a Debbie Downer here, but I just am.

Medellin is much more Madonna than the other 2
Agreed. It's the Madonna I know and love. The other 2 don't sound like M. to me. Well, not enough in the case of I Rise.
2 hours ago, Shane said:Fair enough. Medellín is a bit more experimental which she always does well. I Rise and Crave are classic Madonna songs that appeal to many of us because of her expert way with a melody, her gift for hooks, and the sense of beautiful melancholy that she does better than anyone.
See, I just don't hear the same and I really wish I did.
2 hours ago, Flip The Switch said:I get what you’re saying. You’ll probably change your mind when the album is out.
To me, I absolutely love the music of I Rise, but it feels like I’ve heard the track before, very RH (and as a bonus track). Crave? It had potential but it becomes repetitive, while I love her singing here and there and the vocals, Swae sounds amazing too, it feels too rushed. Both nice songs overall with great production. Saying that, I play the hell out of the 3.
Medellín is glorious. Is gold.
I very well could. COADF was the last M. album I adored start to finish, but a lot of Rh, for example, grew on me after repeated listenings. I don't know what I was doing with my life before Messiah sunk in. That song sat almost unplayed for far too long before it harpooned my fucking soul. I am hoping for the same with Madame X, and I am sure I will love most of it. Medellin just raised my hopes and I Rise and Crave just haven't matched it. I cannot wait to hear it all in its entirety. Sometimes that changes my mind about songs, too. Like COADF, again, listening to it as a cohesive work of art can change everything,
But to all, I AM SO FUCKING EXCITED for JUNE!!!
-
I'm excited for Madame X, of course, but from the 3 tracks released, I am envisioning I'll embrace it like Hard Candy, where I play the Mirwais tracks exclusively and never play the rest.
On HC, I loved every Pharrell track and abandoned the JT/Timberlake stuff—with he exception of Miles Away, which is gorgeous.
I'm trying not to be a big stinker, nor do I want to fight with anyone, but I just don't get the appeal of Crave and I Rise. Medellin is fucking gold.
-
Medellin. 1,000/10
I Rise: 5/10
Crave: 4/10

Great advice. It will make you crazy. Madame X is brilliant whether it sells one or 100,000 copies first week.
Plus, America is at least 50% douchebag, so why sweat it?
