She has only been nominated for Album of the Year once, so yes it's very much true.
And actually before Bedtime Stories, she didn't get a single nomination for any of her albums as a whole.
It's as if everything she did from 83-93 made no difference. Those nominations for a woman of her caliber who made the kind of music she did for those ten years is just appalling. Especially when you add in the fact that Gargoyle had gotten a Best Album nomination for all of her records before Artflop. Of course none of this is new, any Madonna fan knows that the Grammys have shafted her her entire career.
As much as I am excited that she is playing the Grammys, the award itself is meaningless. Twice during the 90s they readjusted the voting methods because of popular snubs like Madonna over say, Quincy Jones' Back on the Block, to reflect what was actually happening in music at the time, and block the old codger vote.
Beyonce has like 200 grammys for shit's sake. Even of Rebel Heart wins 10 grammys next year, it's just padding for her already illustrious career.
I'll be happy, don't get me wrong, but still...

I think 2012 performance at the grammys was great. it was a different kin of performance. It wasn't really about her music, it was about getting a message across about same love. it served is purpose. feb 8 th's performance by madonna will be all about promoting her new album, her new single an getting noticed.

I just watched it again. She looked beautiful. Her eyes were a bit small due to her cheeks but both outfits (carpet and perdormance) were flawless and made her look beautiful and her makeup was perfect.
She doesn't look 25 anymore. Some people will always be butthurt she doesn't have a time machine.

Unlikely. I kind of hope she doesn't open, but they tease her performance throughout the show. If she has several guests, which is almost a definite at this point, they tease "Madonna with special guests." I think that's best for her and the show. But then she really needs to deliver.
Luckily for us, she always delivers.

Totally. She's already Madonna. She doesn't have to sell one copy more to secure an amazing legacy, but we all want her new work to meet the acclaim it deserves, even without hearing the full thing.
So far, it's been an amazing reception considering the storm surrounding it.
