  1. Let's say there was a contest to meet Madonna in person. Would you enter? That might seem like a dumb question, but I honestly don't know if I would do it. I have a fantasy about what she'd be like to meet, how she'd treat me, etc etc. Meeting her could change everything and I may never feel the same about her again. I'd also be afraid that I would be way too nervous and either not be able to speak or just cry and cry and I know she'd probably hate that. I also feel like I could never have anything interesting enough to say to someone who has met everyone and done it all. What could I possibly add?

Taking it one step further, let's say this meeting was a mini interview and you were allowed to ask her 5 questions. What would you ask her?

I had a friend years ago who had the chance to meet Bowie, her idol, and she couldn't do it. She was afraid it would shatter her image of him, just like your hypothetical with Madonna above.

I would have to meet her if given a chance, at least to say 'thank you' for the all the inspiration she's given me for years. Even if she slapped my face and called me a cunt, I could at least say I met her. I think I would regret not doing so even if it was awful.

On second thought, being slapped and called a cunt by Madonna would be pretty sweet, too.

I dunno what I would ask her though.

  2. so why was he retweeting other tweets about "some performers need gospel choirs to look good" etc.

Too sensitive? Maybe NPH is just a twat that calls Gaga "Mommy?"

I don't know about his other re-tweets but the calling your favorite female artist mommy is an actual trendy thing now. Why, I dunno?

Twitter is theater of the damned for all involved.

  3. Weird that Neil Patrick Harris said and tweeted those things...as he and his husband are (or at least were) major Madonna fans. I've heard them mention that many times over the years.

I think he was just reacting to the performance of her dancers surrounding her and then her rising up, as if dead, to heaven. There's no shade there.

Some are just too sensitive when it comes to M. NPH is cool.

  4. They gave it a really good review though and gave it an A .

    Billboard

    10. Madonna

Bringing her Givenchy-masked minotaurs to the Grammy stage for her '90s house-imbued single "Living for Love," Madonna was a major highlight. She looked killer in her Wild West burlesque outfit and sounded fantastic -- and any performance that ends with Madonna ascending into the heavens get an A grade.

Cool, thanks for sharing. A deserved A for sure.

  5. what the fuck is wrong with Billboard? they placed Madonna's performance at number 10 and Beyawnce at number 1?...I mean, I can get they hate but 10?! and that Jay Z's wife number 1?...like really?...w-h-a-t-e-v-e-r

So true. What nonsense, especially considering Madonna's performance was the most viewed and the ratings dipped off for good after she was done.

The "Beyonce can do no wrong" meme is so played out.

  6. She did seem nervous at the start but it was great when she got halfway through and suddenly cut loose. It was a bit raggedy round the edges but it really came together.

I think it's very endearing for her to show her nerves. It shows it's still important to her. She never takes a performance for granted.

Totally. I loved seeing her nervous. She takes nothing for granted and it just made this important performance from her more personal and endearing, as you noted.
