  1. The 9/11 footage fits within the montage behind her and there's no need to try and ignore it. I do not agree she's using it solely for the sake of controversy.

Not to veer off topic... I was just reading an NPR story posted mere hours ago about New York medical examiners identifying another of the victims. It's been almost 15 years and more than 1000 are still not accounted for. It's wonderful that people are still working diligently to give families closure: (http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2015/03/19/394143763/remains-of-sept-11-victim-identified)

I don't think so either, and even if she was, I don't think 9/11 is above being used in art or commerce, whatevs.

My point is just most conservative tea party a-wipes will only get butthurt over it and won't get it, so I don't mind her axing it.

(not that you're replying to just me. just saying)

And wow. almost 15 years later, and that was 2000-fuckin'-1, and they're still working to give families peace. Amazing.

  2. I think so.

All of her albums contains some of her most intimidate moments, but RH takes the cake IMO. She speaks every note of the songs with her heart!

You can tell with all these amazing interviews and perfomances. The mood, the way she responds to anything. She's never been this open since...AGES! Amazing album.

So Interesting. I don't know if it's her most emotionally-bared album of all time, but it is for a long time for sure.

I think raising kids kind of changed what she shared as an artist a bit. I don't have kids myself, but plenty of family does, and when you have kids, you don't restrain your emotions as much as you consider the effect your openness and those emotions have on your kids.

As a parent, you need to project something, a parental image, to protect them, as it were. HC and MDNA were probably her least personal albums to my ear, albeit a few songs here and there, and those came during formative years of her kids' lives. I can understand her not being as raw and emotional as she was pre-kids, like Erotica and Bedtime Stories.

Love Tried to Welcome Me, for example, is beautiful but devastating. I don't know if Madonna could share something that personal after having a kid. I mean, saying you had a chance at love but your fucking soul drew back? it's not something you'd want your kid to know is even possible, even when we all know it's 100% true and very possible. At least not until the kid is adult or closer to adult-age.

I'll shut up as I am babbling, but I think I've seen a side of M. I haven't seen since Bedtime Stories with RH. A true slice of who she is. I know she revealed so much of her personal spiritual journey with ROL, but it never resonated with me like Erotica and Bedtime did. Maybe because she was in the middle of discovering it at that time. I dunno.

Rebel Heart feels like I am getting a real, huge, amazing slice of her heart. the title track breaks me heart - Body Shop is everything to me emotionally right now (and I know it's slight to many fans' ears.)

Iconic is so open considering she's THE MOST ICONIC WOMAN IN THE WORLD.

And L4L... it just makes me cry.

This is M. like I haven't experienced in years, and I am so grateful for it.

  3. "Cherish" was high on Billboard's recurrent airplay charts for years. I still hear it in grocery stores.

Also, I misread that Ellen website teaser that I posted -- "Take a Bow" is not confirmed. Jet lag. Everyone can yell at me for getting their hopes up. :(

We hate you and you are FLUSHED!!!

    (unless you're hot!)

No, you good. TAB is been on this thread to be played since forevers.

  4. I'm so late in commenting as I've been so busy lately but I just have to agree with all the previous comments. What a fantastic, interesting and revealing interview this was.

Howard isn't my favorite person but gotta give him props. He's a great interviewer.

I love Madonna even more after listening to this and I didn't even think that was possible.

I hope there's a part two in the near future. Really enjoyed this.

Ugh, as stated, they are two of my favorite people on the planet. I too would so KILL for a part 2.

You could tell they could have just gone on for hours.

  5. I'm expecting a Don't Tell Me/Love Profusion type of video: Madonna walking on a treadmill in from of a green screen. As much as I'd love a million dollar epic video with a storyline, I don't see that happening.

Don't Tell Me was Mondino and brilliant in every way. Love Profusion though, I feel you.

    I think with T.H., we're getting a storyline.

  6. I just don't like watching the Brits perf. Even th on replay the fall is like a few seconds it was like an eternity live. That and the microphone thud.

    Ugh

I feel you. It's uncomfortable and I always cringe even knowing what's coming. It does inspire the fuck outta me though, but again, I know what you mean.
