That is a bad comparing. Maybe Katy Perry would be appriciated more if she did make music in the 80s.
LAV is a good pop record, but if it was released in 21th century it would be seen as a cheap Katy Perry album.
Anyway, LAV has charm, while modern bubble pop albums don't have.

Yes, because many people judge the album because it may be dated. And thinking LAV isn't a strong track when maybe 2.000 million people still remember it a bit wrong, i think.
But it's weird, because you are not the only fan here who thinks that about LAV. And sometimes I wonder how on Earth somebody can think that. I mean, it's the ultimate Madonna album, together with TB. At least for me. The same that BAT is her ultimate tour. Of course that's my opinion.
Actually I have nothing against dated sound. A good album is good album, no matter how dated it sounds.
I like LAV, I think it is very listenable. It is a good mainstream album, a nice collection of pop songs.
I guess many people who follow her from her beginning see LAV as one of her best. I think LAP, E and ROL are her ultimate albums, because she showed how much pop artistic and mature can be.

Brilliant is such a big word for it. I think it is a decent mainstream album.
I don't think the age has to do something with the opinion about it.
If it is so brilliant then it seems it is better than LAP, E, BS, ROL, Music, AL, TB, COADF. Even her first album is stronger than LAV.

Sorry, NOT. LAV was a incredible album. And calling generic LAV the song or MG or ITG... sorry, but i think you were cheated and there was another CD inside the case, or maybe you downloaded the wrong torrent.
The album is not bad, but it is one of her weakest. If it was released today it wouldn't work.
ITG - I don't see it as a part of the album. It appeared later, when ITG was a huge hit.
LAV offered only MG, LAV and DU. Other song worth mentioning is LDLHA.
The song LAV isn't mature or some strong pop track. Reinvented versions are far better than the original.

Mangapop, sorry but Madonna's voice during LAP is one of her most powerful and touching she's ever done (in most YouTube clips i've seen, i don't mean the DVD, where it's so fake at times).
I was talking about the DVD version of LAP.
Anyway, I don't understand why did some people complain about LAP on RIT and same people praised the MDNA version. Both version are very simmilar, more simple comparing to the original version.

As much as I like American Life, the album, I think Love Profusion is a filler and can't be compared to Drowned World.
I don't think Love Profusion is a filler, but I agree that comparing it to DW is a crime.

True Blue was the album that made Madonna a start, precisely because she showed just how CLEVER she is. She changed her image, she launched the daring Live To Tell, and latter the controversial Papa Don't Preach, but played with the public with True Blue and La Isla Bonita (older people favourites) and became a icon with Open Your Heart.
Most artist would have been lazy or too complacient (Michael Jackson, hello?) and had released LAV II with Neil again. Not Madonna. That's why she's still around and nobody from the 80s is.

LAV was just a generic album that made her world famous with weak catchy songs. TB presented her as a musician who is able to make serious pop music.

Finally watched MDNA. I can't say I am impressed, because I have been watching youtube clips and Madonna didn't impress me that much...
I have high standards for her, it is logical. MDNA is definitely well packed.
Revolver as song is crap, as MDNA performance visually it is fantastic. I liked the use of lights.
LAP was disappointment. Her voice was bad, she only succeed during the BAT to show the power of the original... MDNA version is the same like the one used for RIT. I don't undrestand why some fans think it was the "moment of love....". Maybe it was for people who have seen it live. But every song has the same feeling if you are watching it live, because you can't believe Madonna is in front of you.
Human Nature is one of the highlights. Original version, coreography very close to the video concept. LAV/LS is another highlight.
I didn't like the switching between the scenes during performances. They try to capture every detail, but the result is weird, but that is not bad.
Celebration visaully was awsome. As a song, it was crap. Bad choice for closing the concert.

Didn't Cher say that she thinks the word MDNA is smart, after some people told her what does it mean?
Although I like when people ask some stars about some music legends like Madonna, it is a type of question which isn't relevenat that much.
I was shocked when an interviewer asked Kate Bush what does she think about Gaga. What does a genius think about garbage? Kate Bush, who is always polite and who never says what she really thinks about someone, said she thinks she is talented or something like that....

The ROL demos are weird. The sound is...I don't know how to describe it..sounds cheap and amateurish.
On the other hand, they are not so bad. It is interesting to compare their sound to the sound of ROL album.

Usually I skip this song, but when I am listening to it I always think how amazing it is.
I like the male voice in the beginning.
The DWT opening was her bravest. No special effects, no choreography, just Madonna, her voice and emotions.

Hung Up makes sense. It is just a pop song, but its mix of ABBA sample and new Madonna sound makes it important.
4 Minutes instead of Music, mainsteram crap instead of ground-breaking song.

If she writes an auto biography, I would read those 1000 pages in a couple of hours. I LOVED reading her story in her own words. LOVED IT!
Autobiographical album would be nice, every song would represents Madonna's life eras, problems, emotions, desires...

I know it is a little bit stupid what I wrote, but that's the truth. Rihanna is in undrewear or naked in almost every music video and photo session. There are othere females singers too.
It is interesting when people call Madonna a whore for some works like JML video, which is more a piece of art, and nobody doesn't get upset when watching videos of Rihanna or Nikki Minaj which look like porn clips instead of sexy music videos.
When Madonna does it, then she is a bad influence. When Britney and Rihanna show their vaginas, then they are cool and sexy and men like to watch them, they are not bad influence....

Tries too hard? Erotica was produced under causal circumstance and remains one of her finest creations. American Life was producer driven and filled with the kind of abrupt shifts that let you know the process of making that album was intense.

I don't undrestand why are people so obsessed with sales and charts. Erotica wasn't a flop commercialy, but it was a flop for Madonna standards. Anyway, Erotica sold about 7 millions copies. HC and MDNA are Madonna's worst selling albums. Commerical success doesn't represents album's quality.
Erotica is one of Madonna's masterpieces, she was working hard on it and the album shows that.
I always have feeling that some fans like more Madonna the entertainer with cheap and fun songs (GGW, 4 Minutes...) and don't like Madonna the music artist and her more serious works. Those fans don't undrestand when other fans have high standards for her, becuase the truth is she always could have made some bad songs better.
It seems like if Madonna would make another Bedtime Story, fans would't like it because it isn't maisntream and catchy. They would like something like GGW. If I want another GGW I would listen to the popular trash music on the charts.

She looks nice and I like when she uses S&M theme, but I am always afraid, if she wants to do sexually provocative photo session, she she will do something what will be too vulgar and trashy.
I just don't want her to do something what does Rihanna, Nikki Minaj and other whores of Babylon.
Madonna and sex were always good combination, because she has always made it glamourous (JFM, Human Nature...). I just hope she want jump around in underwear like her female colleagues (Britney, Rihanna....) who can sell their music just through sex.

Love Profusion should be performed live. An acoustic version (guitar or piano), slightly reinvented, would be nice.
I like the positivity of the song and it is very emotional.
