Why are we always reading that "women don't support other women and hate other women"Ā  Ā  That itself is the definition of misogyny.Ā  The way so many lump all women together as jealous, nasty women haters.Ā  Sure there are plenty of horrible nasty women out there who put other women down,Ā  but people are always highlighting them. .Ā  What about all of the women that love Madonna, respect her and are massive fans of hers.Ā  Believe me, there are PLENTY of these women around - and a lot of them are on this forum.Ā  I actually think more women support Madonna than ones that don't.Ā Ā

Also,Ā  why do women have to support all other women ?Ā  Ā Not talking about Madonna here but have seen that reference used for Margaret Thatcher through to Kim Kardashian.Ā  Why should women feel they have to support women they don't agree with or don't respect ?Ā  If a female politician is horrible and toxic, do we have to support her because she is a woman ?Ā  Ā If a female celebrity is famous for nothing other than having a rich family and making a reality show,Ā  do we have to support her and defend herĀ  ?Ā  Ā  In contrast, they will support other women with political ideas they respect or female stars who have talent.Ā  Thus why so many women adore Madonna.Ā  Can't we stop with this whole " woman are not supportive"Ā  stuff by pointing out the ones that are not even worth talking about.Ā

I agree with you and I would add that a human being should support another human being who makes good things..no matter if male or female.

The first time I read the article I thought it was an op-ed piece that was written from the perspective of an older women who clearly admires Madonna and grew up with her music like most of us did. So I was shocked to hear her reacting to it in just a negative way. Yes, they could have picked a better title (I thought there were way too many "Madonna at 60" last year around her birthday already).Ā  But was it just me or that M has skirted the aging question too many a times and should just own it? We all are aging and wanted to feel connected to another human being's experience whether you are an icon or not, so I get why the journalist wanted to ask those questions. M should be very proud that after 35+ years she still has solid base of die hard fans who would pay half their salary to see her.Ā  That is what being an icon at 60 is about.Ā Ā

Good, I will connect with you when I'll get 60.Ā

Mind you this is the same Madonna who whined in 1991 while making A League of Their Own that it was a huge mistake to do a movie with a predominantly female cast and director and that she would never make that mistake again and that she prefers to work on location with mostly men

    Ā

And whom.when promoting Evita did a TV Interview in Spain and Madonna said "thank God, the woman isn't here, I didn't like the questions she asked me the last time you guys interviewed me". And the male interviewer apologized for the rude questions the woman asked presumably a few years prior while being interviewed for the show and Madonna responded "You don't have to apologize, SHE asked those questions".

    So M is misogynist?

Doesn't matter, a WOMAN still took it upon themselves to write it.

    Ā

    It's called accountability

    Ā

Madonna didn't like the profile written by a woman, I don't blame her after reading it, but she attacks men????

    Ā

That's like it we don't like Madonna's new Album, let's blame men and scream "Down with the Patriarchy"!

    Ā

    Third Wave feminism folks

I don't understand the comparison with M'S album..however if you don't likeĀ  the rules that govern a system, you attackĀ the ones who created them and the others who follow them.

Also the article was written by a WOMAN.Ā  So the "down with the patriarchy" stuff made ZERO sense, it's like Madonna's is kind of implying that women can't form their own opinions and despite a woman doing the profile piece, men were still.involved because a woman can't possibly do it in her own!

    Ā

    Not very "feminist"

But a woman can conform to the rules of the game made by men.

Finally heard it as i was getting ready its nuts but in a good way. I love it. Something i have never heard before and i was nit expecting the second half of the song but after a few plays it all makes sense. Cant wait to see the film clip it looks like pure art. This album will be her masterpieceĀ

There is a link for the video.

The article was way too long and there wasn't enough Madonna in it, it was more about writers views on everything related to M. But the women who wrote was overall very positive about her.Ā

That said, I think Madonna is overreacting and to publicly shame someone like that is nasty. Maybe she had a bad day, did the label send her numbers for albums presales or something.

Are you sure M was the only nasty here?..your comment is nasty, for example.

Same here! Like someone mentioned beforehand, these reviews/scores are just among one person's opinion. Granted, they are a critic, but we do know that critics can really be off the mark.Ā  They may influence a small minority, but for the most part her fans are going to buy her new music. From what I've read here so far, it's not too bad, and she's had far worst reviews.Ā

    Ā

Exactly..at the time of WE, I remember 1 critic saying + or -.".she uses the camera and perspective as she wants to affirm: look at me, I'm a good director.." tell me if this is a critic about the movie or her persona..šŸ˜‚Ā

This interview should be interesting as all the guests including the performer (Sheryl Crow) will be all sat on the sofa at the same time!

i donā€™t remember this happening outside USA before where M doesnā€™t get a full show to herself - hope it isnā€™t a sign of her importance/power dwindling...on the other hand she did do the uk lottery show once & she came back magnificent in that era!

Ah you're so right.. she's declining.. after the ESC performance and the Pride, a non full show for her is a clear sign of this. šŸ™‚

WHAT IS THIS SHIT? This is not an issue and nobody agrees with you posted. It only takes one person to derail a happy thread with pointless hysterical nonsense. I donā€™t know if youā€™re simply a paranoid Moan of Arc-er or a troll looking to stir an unnecessary shitstormĀ here, but do it again andĀ it will be the last time you post here.Ā

    Amen.
