  1. I don't listen to the radio but I've heard No Air and Bleeding Love a buch of times (friends cars, in stores, etc).

What you have to remember is when you're a kid and teenager everything is aimed at you and when you get older less entertainment is going to cater to you. My parents weren't familiar or didn't give a shit about the 80's music I liked, and so on.

  2. You've seen and heard how upset fans have been with Madonna recently..

Since I first logged onto the internet 10 years ago I've seen Madonna fans act like she murdered their family (which, if she actually did, would probably not get the same reaction as making a cheap music video etc) over virtually every move she makes.

A backlash is when the public is aware of a new Madonna project and are so annoyed or turned off by her that they intentionally stay away. Fans whinning and complaining and looking for reasons to hate as always does not count, sorry.

  4. I don't understand why certifications are so late and down these days when I remember back when they couldn't wait to recertify albums. And albums used to be certified for what they shipped, now they're certified for sold, and even then, they're late on that. If Erotica deserved a 2x when it was at 1.3 million, COADF deserves a 2x IMO.

Erotica's first shipment was probably 2 million or more so they were able to certify 2X right away. With sales down and less stores to stock (or overstock) shipments and certs are going to come closer together now.

  5. It's also possible she doesn't want to put in much effort for her last Warner project- the second I heard she was leaving Warner I thought, oh great her next album will just be dumped (Warner may want the album to sell but at the same time why help raise the profile of someone who is leaving?), but then why did she pick popular producers if she is just filling a contract? All very hard to figure out!

Perhapse she will have more interest in moving albums when she is getting half the profits rather than whatever Warner allows her?

  6. It's still possible Madonna will do some TV for 2nd single GI2M. It's bizzare she has done nothing, but a few months from now it may look like a brilliant idea to have let 4M sell itself and then do the proper promo and give the 2nd single the push it will probably need to succeed. We'll have to see, but this could be the idea...?

  7. How is everyone bitching about everything happening at this moment different than 2 weeks ago? a month ago? a year ago? 3 years ago? Madonna has an internet fan backlash every time she leaves her house.

  8. I'm not following your threads and I'm not agreeing with anyone to make a point about you. You might wanna take those tickets off yourself! It's just that I've noticed in a number of threads that you always defend Madonna, no matter what. You are a true fan, as in "fanatic". I'm all for admiring Madonna, but I prefer to keep some objectivity about myself and not disengage my brain whenever I hear the word "Madonna".

and on the other hand there are people who can only post negative. guess it comes down to personality? for me, Madonna is here for my enjoyment. people complain less about their jobs or health problems.

  9. AGAIN, I don't think anyone here (at least anyone with sense) is saying that Madonna is giving tickets to agencies to be scalped. The problem is that it is very clear that scalpers are using stubhub to sell their tickets and M is doing nothing to stop the scalpers, she's just taking a "la,la,la there's nothing I can do about them, so I'll just profit whatever way I can" attitude. And yes, that makes her a greedy bitch when you look at the fact that most within the music industry have decried the scalping of tickets for years and a number of bands have actively sought to implement ticket distribution methods that circumvent scalpers to try to make sure fans get the best possible seats. M in her position as one of the most wealthy, recognized, and powerful music artists out there could certainly have gotten further with anti-scalping plans that many of these smaller bands that have been trying and yet she doesn't. We don't specifically know why she hasn't but based on her decision to try and profit from tickets that are being scalped (regardless of how the scalpers hot their hands on the tickets) it is easy for us to infer that scalping, and it's negative impact on fans and the music industry as whole, is a problem that does not seem to concern her. That has made me lose a big chunk of respect for her.

Stubhub is pretty much ebay. If YOU get tickets via Ticketmaster and then can't go to the show, should Madonna pop out of nowhere and stop you from reselling your tickets?

You speak of Madonna in her position and her concerns- first of all, this woman hasn't even gone on TV to promote her own album yet. And she has her interest in helping dying children in Malawi. Factor in that with the slightest bit of effort everyone who wants to go to the show at face value shouldn't have a problem via Ticketmaster, where do you think this nonsensical drama falls on a list of priorities?

  10. what the fuck else would they do with their time? show me one post in one thread where the same people aren't bitching and whining. someone recently told me, you will never find a madonna forum where there is no bitchiness. i guess it's the nature of the majority of her fans. sad, really.

    :vanitybonet:

most busy message boards are just people crying.

  11. By signing a deal w/Live Nation she is at the mercy of making sure her shows bring in every penny they can. We will probably start seeing insane merchandising with her name pretty soon too. At the same time, aren't tickets a little cheaper this tour than the last??

I can understand the stubhub thing is lame but I'm not bothered as I think with minimal effort at Ticketmaster we should all be able to get decent seats. If this was the first tour in 15 years and everyone was going nuts to get ticktes I would be annoyed, but I don't think tickets are going to be difficult this time everything considered. Stubhub will most likely be for people with money to burn who can't be bothered to check back at Ticketmaster a couple of times.
