Well, it's not the only research on the subject. These same conclusions are taken into consideration by the CDC:

"Multiple studies have compared the incidence of reinfection and primary infection during a specific time period to evaluate the level and duration of protection provided by initial infection with SARS-CoV-2. Table 2 summarizes data from seven observational cohort studies from six countries, each with >10,000 participants, assessing the risk of reinfection over time. Five studies used RT-PCR positivity to define initial infection. In these studies, primary RT-PCR-confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection decreased risk of subsequent infection by 80–93% for at least 6–9 months [54-58]. Studies specifically assessing persons seropositive with anti-N and anti-S antibodies following infection [16, 45] found slightly higher protective effects (89–93%). Most studies had a mean or median follow-up period of approximately 7 months; the longest reported follow-up was 12 months post-infection [58]. Three studies included sub-analysis to assess if the protection waned over time; none of these found a decline in protection within the follow-up period."

Different countries make different recommendations (and clinical practice varies) based on relatively the same data, which is their prerogative.

So are we all supposed to run outside unvaccinated, get infected on purpose so, assuming you survive or don’t get long-term conditions, we build up natural immunity for 6 - 9 months so that you don’t get sick from the same virus you just had? 🥴🙄

Yes, all countries don't hold the same standards regarding immunity. Both naturally immune and vaccinally immune people can still transmit the disease, but the issue has become so politicized that many people just don't consider the facts anymore.

Seriously what fucking facts? Hinting that anyone should risk their life by getting the the virus as an alternative to protecting oneself from the same virus is fucking stupid and dangerous.

We have all read the fucking reports on natural immunity. It’s called playing Russian roulette and putting everyone around you who DOESN’T want to get sick in danger because you’re selfish pricks.

I dont think US should be blamed for how Afganistan is functioning... Obviously the state is such that it could be easily occupied by the Talibans and I wouldn't be surprised if the majority are for the Taliban regime.

 I hope some foreign army never walks into your country, bombs you and your loved ones over and over again over a span of ~40 years, puts into power some corrupt entity that literally flees with all your country's money and leaves your country so bad that the only viable option is a bunch of thugs that that same country helped create in the first place. Then when when shit is about to hit the fan they just say PEACE OUT innocent civilians we've done more than enough for you.

THEEEEENNNNN when a few of their guys die because of THEIR recklessness and piss poor planning they continue to bomb your country indiscriminately and kill more innocent bystanders

We forget easily when it's not happening to us but i I read an article the other day about the hundreds of thousands of people in Vietnam and Laos still suffering the horrible consequences of the gas used by USA during the war. What for?

To free them from the horrors of socialism, state-owned petroleum and universal healthcare.

No idea. It happened last December.

The goal was to fight against child pornography, which is a very good goal of course. But child pornography is not precisely shared in those pages! It's in the dark web.

It's simply a war on porn

Bingo! That's why I posted that article up there. It's "banks" that are forcing Only Fans to take down pornography. Conservative old men always ruining everything.

I can't remember the last time we saw such a massive scale loss of human potential and freedom and life unfold on live TV...so many millions of people just waiting to find out if they'll ever make it out of that jail. It makes the experience of living in the absolute safety of the west feel so absurd and unreal, and somehow obscene...

Does the ANA not outnumber the Taliban? Where are the men?

With the US pulling out and the central government in Kabul abandoning the country, the ANA had no choice but to abandon their posts and/or surrender to the Taliban.

Oh, btw, in case anyone was worried, the president is out of the country and safe:

  7. In case anyone cares... Here's a super quick history lesson on Afghanistan and why this is so infuriating to me and just goes to who you how absolutely messed up the west / current superpowers are:

    1. Afghanistan was a peaceful, developing and sovereign nation. Just as an example, this is what women there used to look like in the early 70s:

Afghans Share Their Views on the West's Influence - The New York Times

    2. The Soviet Union invades Afghanistan in 1979, stages a coup and installs a Communist puppet government.

    3. As is tradition and as Cold War history has taught us, the US decided to prop up a group of religious fanatics in hopes of freeing the Afghan people from the evils of communism, so the US, through (not so) secret CIA operations, stages their own coup and helps put into power who they called "freedom figthers", aka the mujahedeen, (and who later transformed into the Taliban). This included sending weapons, financial support and all forms of military intelligence to leaders such as Osama bin Laden

Here's a picture of Reagan meeting with these brave freedom fighters.

    800.jpeg

    4. The "freedom fighters", backed by the US and Saudi Arabia, launched a several year war, and by 1989 successfully toppled the Soviet-backed Afghan communist government.

    5. Afghanistan quickly falls into a civil war due to the power vacuum this created, where several of these small militias fought for control over Afghanistan. Note that by this time the Soviet union had collapsed, so US, who was responsible for this, instantly lost interest and essentially abandoned Afghanistan and let them fend for themselves.

    6.  Pakistan (a US ally) and foreign al-Qaeda fighters, mostly from Saudi Arabia (the US' biggest ally in the region after Israel), join the fight in Afghanistan, win the civil war and install their new, horrific government. They call themselves the Taliban. Mind you, absolutely nobody helped Afghanistan during these years.

    7. Sep. 11 happens and the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Italy, New Zealand, and Germany invade Afghanistan. (Side note / rant, In short, the mess of not only allowing these religious monsters take over an entire country because of a mess that the west created, but actively creating and arming them, and helping put them in power because clearly that's better than communism, is why Sep. 11 happened in the first place. Then the west comes in as "saviors" to help liberate the Afghan people only after it affected us, but this is just a side note that I could go on and on about...).

    8. To summarize the rest of this mess, these countries put into power corrupt puppet governments, raged the longest war in recent history, loses and are once again abandoning the country, leaving them in shambles and allowing these monsters who were not even Afghan to begin with take over.

    9. Stay tuned, the west will once again invade them in the future and say we are liberating them and saving them from themselves, and help spread DEMOCRACY. I mean, we are already angels for allowing a tiny percent of victims into our countries as refugees...
