  1. I just want something that looks and sounds less like a music video and more like a real live concert. The Paris Olympia show was good, hopefully it's like that. Actual real live vocals, less effects and just the show which stands up on It's own minus editing gimmicks.

Definitely, but I think it's unlikely we'll get that. The fake, over-processed look that destroys the live atmosphere seems to be the in thing these days. I would like something like the Girlie Show DVD - live undubbed vocals, great sound, no effects, no filmizing, shots longer than 2 seconds etc. I wonder why Madonna didn't like how that show was filmed.

  2. Neeeeeever gonna happen but imagine if after Like a Virgin, Madonna lying on the floor . .

    And then

"something's missing and I dont know why

I always feel the need to hide my feelings . . From you"

My EROTICA senses would be alerted here in England and I would lapse straight into my gay coma

Lol that would be brilliant, but I wonder if she'd even be able to identify that quote nowadays. Bad Girl seems to be on the "forgotten songs" list, along with Who's That Girl, TYTBMP and Cherish.

  3. I wish they'd release a "single mix" of "Turn Up The Radio." The song has potential, but I'm not too fond of the production. I find the intro annoying.

The intro reminds me of Supertramp's "Dreamer". Yeah, I wish they'd release single mixes for the songs like they used to do. Then at least you have some real motivation to buy the song since you're not just re-purchasing the album track or buying a collection of remixes that sound nothing like the original.

  4. She was married to Guy for 8 years and his stepmum is a Conservative Party member of the UK's House of Lords so she would have been familiar with the terms 'Councillor' or 'MP'.

Yeah I noticed that when I watched the video. You'd think she'd at least know the term "MP" after 8 years here, and the way she said "in this country" it sounded like the UK meant no more to her than, say, Kazakhstan or Mozambique. Oh well, I wish I could be as unsentimental as Madonna!

  5. Great photos and review!

    • Madonna’s American vocoder pronounciation - “BERRRMEENG-HAM” vs the Brit way – “buh-ming-im’

:lmao: She probably didn't even know there was a Birmingham in England before this tour. Does anyone else get the impression she's totally "over" her time living in England? I thought she might make some speech during the UK concerts saying how great it was to be back in an attempt to ingratiate herself with the casual fans but it looks like she just did the usual "Sagarra Jo"-explanation/world peace thing.

  6. I didn't think the crowd where exceptionally dull, not really? I've been to a lot of gigs, many Madonna ones too and you always get the boring sods that just sit there reserved! No matter who it is. I was on the side block and alot of people were dancing and having a great time. People that just sit there just made me laugh like get your money's worth, DANCE AND SING GET UP AND DO YOUR THING! And in the words of Madonna last night 'seats are for ass's!!

I know I'm in the minority here, but I'd like to stick up for the "boring sods that just sit there reserved". Just because they're not singing and dancing doesn't mean they're not enjoying the show. This is such a spectacular, theatrical show that I want to be able to see and hear it properly, and not have lots of people blocking the view with their arms and drowning out Madonna with their out-of-tune singing. Unless you're lucky enough to be in in the triangle bit or right at the front, I think seating would be ideal. If it were a greatest hits-style concert with Madonna just standing there singing, then I can understand people would want to dance and sing along, but I can't really imagine most people singing along to Revolver or Gang Bang or the Justify My Love interlude. When Madonna barks at the audience in that crow voice about it being a "no-sitting-down song!" it just makes me wince. For me, a gig in Spain or Brazil or somewhere like that would be a nightmare, with everybody screaming and shouting over the stop of the music. I prefer the more reserved "Northern European" culture, but people seem to assume that's automatically inferior to the more extrovert southern cultures.

Anyway, judging by the audience reaction at the end of Celebration in that video, people really appreciated the show. It looks amazing. I don't get why it's such a big problem for these casual (supposed) fans that Madonna's not doing the hits, since the new songs are presented in such a creative and spectacular way. I mean, do you have to know every line of a play or a musical by heart to enjoy it?
