  1. I don't get how new material that is still in production leaks in the first place. I know there were some drive hacks a while back and that is how various demos and outtakes were leaked (wasn't that how GMAYL came about)....but can't they manage the new material on some secure server and ONLY keep the material there? Limit those who have access and that way If a leak occurs, then they will KNOW it was from someone directly involved and not some outside source. If I were Madonna, I would have my shit on complete lock-down!

LOL....as far as I am concerned, this is not a member vs member ordeal. We are all here united under the same passion, devotion, dedication and love of a brilliant artist.

My point today was never negative on any level and should not have been interpreted as such. Disagree with me all day long, that's the point of a forum, but please understand it and reply with truth:

I am not one of the MTribe mongers and I most certainly am not a prostitute....I wouldn't be posting from behind the enslavement of my office job desk if I were! lol

Peace, LOVE and Madonna hugs to ALL of you.....KIM included xoxoxo

  3. She stayed 4 months in a studio for Ray Of Light, right?

Can we say this album is gonna be even more? I mean...she was there with Avicii in like...January, Natalia Kills, Diplo, etc.

I have this feeling that Diplo somehow turned out to be the "main" producer of all of them. These last sections have been going for a while already.

She recorded half of American Life, did a play, and then completed the rest months later. There are some artists who take a year or more in the studio. There really isn't a specific timeframe with these things. The only clock ticking against Madonna is the Live Nation clock that demands another tour (or two) from her by 2017.

  4. Thank God for Kim!

I respect his directness, and I agree that not everyone has to agree with my points and opinions....that is the point of a forum, but as long as my points are accurately being heard. It isn't much fun to be accused of being from MadonnaTribe when that isn't the case. I couldn't "limp " from a forum I have never been an active member of. This is the only forum I have read, followed and contributed for years. Please take me off the MT List....that isn't accurate.

Anyhow....back to the subject at hand. Hasn't Billboard been pretty darn accurate with their info...?

  5. Oh grow the fuck up with your revisionist crap. You left after having a hissy-fit when other members started calling you a MALE PROSTITUTE. Nothing at all to do with me.

Everyone who limped over here from Madonnatribe got the same treatment when their opening posts consisted of the same level of "moan moan moan".

You need to learn to make your point, however negative, and then understand that not everyone is going to wank over it in agreement, cos this is like...a fan site and not ur old home of Madonnatribe.

I think you have me mistaken for someone else Kim.

I never came from MT. I registered there, but felt it was too busy to keep up with so I never returned. This is the only forum I have ever kept up with or posted on.

Also, I must have missed when people were calling me a male prostitute, but that would certainly not make me leave the forum as it is not true...it was the constant disrespect and attitude of certain members. I PM'd you bud, let's take this off the board if you don't mind.

  6. Um you made all sorts of baiting references to tabloid fodder and pop culture obscurity. None of that is conducive to a woman putting millions of bums on seats based on her name alone (and everyone at this point knows they're not getting a back catalogue /greatest hits show when they're buying that ticket either) So don't bother trying to separate the two, either she's pop culture poison... or she's not.

As for the rest...HEARD IT. It's Madonna's choice. When she starts panicking about her career, and starts caring what Joe Bloggs on facebook has to say...then maybe I will too.

I did not...you have this mentality that I, or other members, are always being negative towards Madonna. I made NO baiting references, please read again. I gave perfect examples to every thing I said, and NONE of it was to insult or degrade Madonna in any way shape or form. In FACT, your point is the EXACT same point I was making...that MADONNA CAN HAVE A HIT RECORD IF SHE WANTS TO.....this was never a question about her relevancy or status in pop culture. She is a legend, a Queen...the ultimate Goddess of pop, and everyone knows this, whether they like her or not.

You, my friend, are the reason I avoided coming here for months. Anything I say and the KIM POLICE is there to piss all over it, bitter, jaded, ignorant and nasty as always, as if he is the ultimate Madonna "fan-friend" police. Try and read without already making up your mind that what is being written is negative for you are truly missing the point.

  7. Madonna is definitely not free falling into cultural obscurity. Regardless of whether people love them or hate them, I have read interviews with Katy Perry, Rihanna, Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, Pink, Ariana Grande and Sky Ferreira - and they have all talked of their love and admiration for Madonna and wanting a career like she has. I don't judge Madonna on what other stars think of her, but I think it proves that she is front and centre still a much talked about and admired superstar for all ages. These girls are the hottest young stars at the moment and they all adore Madonna - thus proving how much she still dominates pop music. She can get attention like no other star can. There was excited coverage on entertainment shows on Australian tv of her "maybe doing a promo tour" She is definitely not on the outer when it comes to public interest.

No one disagrees with this....geesh...people certainly take things to another level around here. The "pop culture obscurity" comment was in reference to the MDNA album, it topped the US charts but then disappeared altogether. No is questioning her star power or relevance, the topic was simply: "Can Madonna have another hit album?"...and the answer most gave was: "Yes, if she cares to promote it". She certainly has the star power to do so. There isn't a television show or magazine on the planet that she will ever have to beg to be on (except anything Pierce Morgan is associated with...lol). She simply has to take the time and effort to get out there, IF SHE WANTS TO.....

Also, everyone keeps proving my point with their headline examples, Madonna makes headlines for hating a crappy type of flower, dating 24 year olds and wearing grilles. The US media loves to paint her in a very negative light and so there are many Americans out there who only ever hear ridiculous and negative things about her. They see TMZ blasting an unflattering shot of her across their main-page with some unsavory gossip attached to it. In days gone by, the salacious gossip was counterbalanced by her music dominating the radio and MTV....today, most people only hear the gossip, if anything at all.

  8. Seriously, you people talk about Madonna like she's some sort of fucking idiot who doesn't know the rules of the game. She's WELL AWARE of what makes a good promotional campaign and the hours of hard slog it takes. COADF probably being the last time she CHOSE to take that route. She CHOOSES not to do it for the time being, DEAL.

And it's not just her core fanbase that fills up those hundreds of arena/stadium shows across the US, so obviously something other than "adoptions and plastic surgery" still plays a part in the public consciousness.

I think you missed the point Kim....this is not about her touring status, for with that, she is still the ultimate draw....people hear that Madonna is coming to town and they want to see her as she has long established herself as a phenomenal performer and shes has a back catalog that most pop stars would commit several murders for. Madonna's name alone will most certainly sell concert tickets. No one mentioned the MDNA Tour, as obviously touring is most certainly not an issue for her. That is a kingdom she effortlessly and easily dominates. Also, I don't believe that anyone is saying that she doesn't know what to do, obviously much of her career success has been based on her ability to master-market her brand, sound and image. I think most people are in agreement that given her promotional effort, she can achieve another album/chart success. That was the only point being made, no need to get so testy :)

As mentioned, I am referring mostly to the US market. The MDNA ALBUM topped the charts and then plummeted as if it never existed. This was due to her core fan base obtaining their copies, the general public probably didn't even know it was out, there was no radio support or anything to hold it up so it just basically disappeared. Everyone mentions COADF as the last time she properly promoted an album, and this may be true for non-US markets, but in the US, most people were unaware of it, despite Hung Up dominating the charts around the world. If another album success means anything to her, she knows what to do, but only if she really cares to. At this point, no one is catching up to her sales records, so in the end, her effort to sell is strictly up to her own ambition and focus. It would just be another notch in her glorious belt....it certainly has nothing to do with money. She can go on tour for 5-6 months and make a half a billion dollars...so, no one is gonna go hungry in the Ciccone household.

And sadly, many people I talk to never hear or pay any mind to the music and philanthropic projects she has consistently delivered in the past decade, the US media tends to only focus on her private life, appearance, etc, and so sadly, that is what many Americans know of her. I had one friend say to me the other day "Madonna still releases music? I thought she retired after kissing Britney Spears.....". I hear ignorant shit like that ALL the time.... Someone else said "I never hear about Madonna anymore...the only time I ever hear her name is when you post something about her on Facebook." It's frustrating as in the US, her grille will garner more media attention than her next brilliant single.....

  9. Madonna was spoiled for many years, she hardly had to bother with much promotion whereas other recording artists were out there slave-pimping their asses off to every magazine, talk show, and interview. She could release something and the release in itself garnered attention. These days (and for at least a decade) her presence in the mainstream entertainment market (at least in the US) has been relatively quiet. For most people, their knowledge of Madonna for the past decade has consisted of adoptions, plastic surgery and other various tabloid bullshit. The MDNA album proved that Madonna's name now only sells to her core fan base, after that, its a free fall into pop culture obscurity. At age 56, with 30+ years under her belt, she is still leagues ahead of most, but she has to realize, care and understand that the days of media domination are long over and if she wants to be seen and heard above the mass roar of social media and instant fame whores, she will have to use her star power to do so. Anyone can garner mass attention with the likes of Twitter and Instagram, but not everyone can book appearances on every major talk talk show, etc around the globe. A solid, standout hit and her care and effort into the promotion and Madonna can certainly drum herself up another smash hit.

  10. I adore Matthew. He has become a good friend of mine and I have been on his ass about a sequel for as long as I have known him....lol. I am thrilled that he is finally giving this some serious thought. Imagine the undertaking though...M has had 2x the career length she did with the original publication. 20 years in Madonna years is EONS of changes, updates and reinventions.

  11. Watch out Katty Purry :queenbitch:

Hahaha! Katy recently tweeted a warning concerning rival Taylor Swift....perhaps she should be more concerned about the Queen Diva she has befriended and is working with her man! Not that M would ever steal another woman's man, but she certainly likes em' younger and the woman lives to conquer!

  12. Madonna's flrty look at diplo :horn:

Perhaps she sees it too and it reminds her of the early/happy days of her marriage.....we tend to become drawn to people who remind us/resemble people who once brought us great love and happiness....just a speculation but she does look pretty smitten with him in that shot.

  13. just a little something..

    Martinis with Madonna

    09/09/2014 , 10:26 AM by Elizabeth Green

    http://blogs.abc.net.au/files/joe-henry-interview-1.mp3

He's the brother-in-law of Madonna and he's produced music for Elvis Costello and Emmy-Lou Harris.

American producer and singer-songwriter Joe Henry CHATTEDarrow-10x10.png with Robbie on 702 ABC Sydney Breakfast about his basement, music and having Martinis with the Queen of Pop.

Take a listen to the interview, including a live performance of the track 'Swayed' from Joe's new album Invisible Hour.

Joe will be playing at The Basement in Sydney on 9th and 10th September 2014.

Joe's son also talks about it being "completely normal" to have her as his aunt ;)

Nice. Thanks for sharing! I have always been interested in Joe's relationship with his sister-in-law.

And how do these publications get simple facts wrong like Emmylou's name....geesh, the woman has been in the business since 1975.

  14. for me, madonna is about taking risks

and to me, MDNA, was not risky. It would have been risky if she released Gang Bang or changed the first single when it was leaked. But she played it safe because she was thinking about radio - she even mentioned radio wouldnt play Gang Bang if released - which is kind of out of touch for her.

I absolutely agree and this is the point I've been trying to make. Hard Candy and MDNA both played it safe. Even Confessions was relatively safe. Her musical risk taking halted after AL. My opinion is that she will gain a bit more public interest when she allows herself to be creatively free (as I am hoping with the new album) and stops concerning herself with hits and radio airplay. A song and video about shooting her lover in the head is still more mature and interesting than a lackluster Hey Mickey/cheerleader diddy.
