  1. She is being herself. There's not one Madonna though. She has many sides to her. Some people just want her to be the person she was during Ray of Light. But she's not always going to be at that same place. But when I hear people go on about she shouldn't do dance music, she should do mature ballads etc., I really wonder if they're a fan of the same Madonna I love. There are many mature MOR artists that do ballads and slower songs, why do people want Madonna to be that?

I'm not sure if you're even trying to understand other people and other point-of-views or are you just twisting other people's words into something you can then oppose and reject.

No one is saying she needs to be all serious all the time. But you can be fun and silly in a way more clever, mature (yes, breaking news: even mature people can be fun, can you imagine?) and creative way than she has been.

Besides, I'm not sure how much she's been herself in HC and MDNA. She put as little effort into them as she could get away with. She accepted songs for them that were rejected by other pop stars (I don't even call them artists). That's what I mean. See, I haven't really been talking about music genre. I don't care if it's dance although unlike a lot of others I don't need her album to be danceable stuff. I'm fine with everything as long as it's clever, mature and creative. And, dare I even say it, preferably a little bit artistic. Or should I fear that word is going to get twisted into something bad and horrible?

Anyway, I don't care about anything else as long as she puts herself into it. That's not happened with her last two studio albums. They feel a lot different than COADF (which is an album I don't like either) that is clearly all hers. That's what I'm interested in. Either commit to creating an album or don't do it at all. I don't want other people to do and write what they think Madonna is/feels/thinks. That doesn't feel real nor authentic. And for the artist that Madonna claims to be... It shouldn't be acceptable.

  2. ^ I don't think I'm the one who overestimates her stamina or what she can physically do. I'd be happy with an album that was anything-but-dance, But I feel Madonna is the one who is fighting back against nature. I think she feels she needs to keep up and prove that she can still do it at her age. I think she feels she needs to be young in order to have respect in the world of pop music. I think that's partially the reason why we've been getting immature, ridiculous and downright stupid lyrics from her in her recent albums (although MDNA was lyrically a step in the right direction). And I think that is crap.

I wish she realized that a lof of her fans have actually grown up with her. Remember that lecture she gave in Olympia in Paris? It was like she was talking to teenagers. She needs to wake up. Most of her fans are 30 or older. I don't get how she fails to understand that she is actually liberated from the need to appeal to younger demographic. She could write smart and wise® lyrics with depth and most of us would welcome that with open arms. But no.

  3. Right now I don't really worry about who produces her records but I do care who she writes with. Or who give her their songs to record (as it unfortunately is nowadays). She needs to work with real songwriters. Write with them and not have them write for her. Get together with them for a songwriting camp or something and simply brainstorm with them. Come up with smart lyrics and great melodies.

And then get some contemporary electronic producer to do his/her thing. Come on. It's not going to be folk or anything else but music to dance to. Let's face it. I've been saying this since COADF. She's now in her Cher years. She isn't going to do much else than generic dance music that is meant to be the soundtrack to her workout or aerobics routines that she does on her next tour. I mean, come on, she admits this herself. How many times did she refer to her show as her workout during the Q&A at the MDNA DVD premiere (or whatever the event was when she was dressed up as Marlene Dietrich)?

  4. I made a vow that I would never need

    Another person ever

Turned my heart into a cage

A victim of a kind of rage

I don't think she's ever written anything as truthful, as honest, as revealing as that part. To understand Madonna and how she was and still is you need to hear and understand what she says right there. It's most definitely the most personal, most vulnerable and most self-aware line by her. That line alone explains a lot about her.

Just think about how all that she says in it shows up in her life, how it manifests itself. In many of her songs she sings about some sort of or some form of defiance and resilience but where is that coming from? Or what is the basis of her work ethic? Where did her anger in the early 1990s come from? I think that part of M&F is partly an explanation for all of these and many more aspects of her life and career and the songs she sings about.

  5. People, people! You need to focus! Look at the pics of Madonna paintballing or whatever it is called what they are doing... You pay attention to her grillz but you don't see her nails! What's with them? Since when has Madonna been sporting that kind of nails? I don't remember. It must've been like a gazillion years ago.

In other words, I think she's up to something. I hope she's up to something. And it better be good, bitch!

  6. Hmm... Let's see... MDNA would look like this after I've done editing it:

    1. Beautiful Killer

    2. Love Spent

    3. Masterpiece

    4. Falling Free

Then I would say: "Bitch, get back to work. We need at least 8 new songs! And they better be good! No, amazing!"

  7. Madonna has dyed her hair and her forehead looks all botoxed up... She's gonna make everybody bow the fuck down at the BBMA tonight.

Oh, and I love it when she wears jeans.

PS. I don't know why I care but love that Lola is reading Sylvia Plath.
