Died and gone to disco heaven!

I don’t think there is a “Rebel Heart is terrible narrative” happening tbh. I love Rebel Heart. It has some of her best melodies. However, Madame X shows painfully clear what RH was missing. Focus, a great flow and an impeccable production. I think RH had some very strong tracks but Madame X is Madonna at her absolute best from start to finish. It’s not a collection of songs but a cohesive album. I never rate her albums against each other. They all have a special place in my heart. But some just take up a little more space in it than others. And Madame X has currently chosen one of the biggest rooms in my heart and I think she is going to make herself comfortable there for quite a long time.

Or? Hell no. AND! More is more :-))

i find it difficult to put rankings, numbers or grades to her work but what will say is that between probably 1986-2005 what M did better than any other artist (certainly within popular music) was tell a story with her albums, they were as close to literature as popular music can get. No one did the creation of an album and the crafting of a complete body of work better than Madonna but that started to slip a little with Hard Candy, there were elements of it but it was mostly a collection of good pop songs.
MDNA though I feel it is underrated as a collection was the nadir of this aspect of her talent because other than the late second half of the record, it was literally a handful of dance tracks that she sang over and sounded a little detached from.
RH is a curious one because there are several stories to be told but it's uneven and uncohesive. That said, the stories on offer are deeply compelling and with more streamlined production, a more careful eye over what made the final tracklisting and no leaks hindering her ultimate vision, it could have ranked among her top tier works. I think the difference between MDNA and RH is that she had something to say.
Madame X is a revelation because she has once again, recorded a great novel so to speak. This ranks alongside erotica, bedtime stories, ray of light and confessions because it is a body of work, a statement and it's uncompromised. In short, it's a true Madonna ALBUM.
Perfectly put. I agree 100%

It’s not even 10 am on a Sunday morning and I’ve already listened to the entire album twice today. And I probably won’t stop all day. This album is almost too good for words. It gets better with each spin an I discover more and more details in this amazing production. It’s so different, daring and divers that I just can’t get over it. This is Madonna at her absolute best! A masterpiece in the 4th decade of her career. Breathtaking.

I think "IM A DEMOCRACY" in the middle of GC is cringe the lyrics are fine, maybe a little literal, but fine.
It’s “a new democracy”

I thought it was fine. She was a bit sarcastic, but that’s not new.

Great interview.

The love for this album here is so,uplifting! The power of Madonna when she gets it right. And she got it so right this time.

This is what I asked on the previous page. Is the cd quality good? Does it have clicks and such like.
The cd is crystal clear. You probably heard the leak from the vinyl rip. That was pretty bad.

This album is everything and much more never would have imagined it will be so good. God Control, Faz Gostoso, IDSIF the true bangers. Killers, Extreme Occident and Looking For Mercy the beautiful slower songs. I only don't really like Come Alive and Crazy on the first listen and I am not over how badly this album is mastered. Almost every song is distorted. Why did they do this?
My cd sounds absolutely crisp.

Yes please. More is more.

The lyrics may seem a bit naive at first. But anyone that had listened to talk in the past 30 years knows, that it’s heartfelt. And her delivery is just beautiful, as is the entire production. The instrumentation, the off beat, her vocals. Perfection.

Love it. A great addition.

I am so intrigued by the various descriptions of Come Alive.
The song is LIFE! I just heard it full blast on my big speakers. Bodyshop on a healthy dose of steroids. It’s so good! Pop perfection.

Now that’s a review!

German site https://www.derstandard.de/story/2000104684311/madonna-die-unheilige-heilige
gave it a positive review. Main focus on bla bla and little on the actual album. But calling it her best work in 20 years.

It’s Body Shop on a small dose of steroids. And I totally love it!

Even if the lyrics can be viewed as corny or over the top, they come from their heart. You can hear it. And the production is sublime.

Without a doubt, her most varied, unique, creative, bold, challenging, weird, political and strong album since coadf. At least. She deserves to be showered with praise and awards for this masterpiece!

If this album is anything it's a testament and sign that she found the courage and conviction to finally be herself again musically!!! And I couldn't be happier!
100% how I feel

I had high hopes but wasn’t expecting THIS. This album is insanely good! As mixed as it is in terms of style, it all comes together amazingly well. I’m almost speechless. I usually don’t like to say “the best since...” but this album IS the best in a long time imo.

Who cares about backlash? She’s had more shit thrown at her than probably any other artist in pop history. And she survived it all. I say bring it.
