  1. The 9.25 date was also announced by Billboard...

At first I thought it said 8.25, which I thought made sense.

But a late September release? How can they justify releasing at all? What manager or whatever sees a mid-July video release, an early august digital EP release, a late August tour start date, and then thinks, "Yep, late September for radio is FINE"?

It should go out NOW, while it's the most played song in clubs across America.

  2. That guitar is the devil instrument of the crow.

This is one of the truest things that have been written on this forum.

In the slower numbers, though, she sounds just fine (thinking You Must Love Me, Nothing Fails, Don't Tell Me, etc). But I think clearly no one just tells her the truth.

  3. The "charge/discharge" sound they added in the chorus after "Can't really talk with a gun in my mouth" for the Olympia version is so simple yet so genius. It always plays in my mind when I listen to the CD version now.

Much better than the stupid shot sound at the end. (Although, again, the Olympia performance elevated through visuals.)

  4. Does anyone know what the song is really saying? The lyrics confuse me a bit and I know it's a beautiful song but I'd probably find it more relatable if I understood it more.

I take it to be about the paradox of feeling very close to someone right when you know it's time to let go. The ambivalence of letting go of one of the loves of your life - you love them deeply ("what you give is what I love"), but it's just not working anymore. And when you let lose "the need to know" (why it's not working, what's going on) you are free to go.

If she put so much energy into lyrics like this... well, it'd take her ten years to produce an album, but what a beautiful album that would be.

I truly think Joe Henry is the only worthy lyricist she's worked with since Patrick Leonard (although not as good in terms of producing hooks).

  5. My bet is that this is for Die Another Day/Beautiful Killer. It seems very unlikely we wouldn't know about a video being shot for a new single.

As for Madonna not being part of her backdrops when she's on stage: Future Lovers and Music Inferno are two occasions where she was either both on stage and on screen, or they used her in the background before she came on stage.

In any case, this is very exciting!!

  6. Between watching Beautiful Killer about seven times, I finally gave in and watched the entire show - I still had not seen Masterpiece or Open Your Heart or Vogue, but fuck it was worth it. Hopefully I don't watch those again until I see them live.

But I thought Masterpiece was taken to a whole other level of emotion and resonance. And Open Your Heart was a complete rework that might piss purists but hell if it wasn't exhilarating.

And Vogue - well, what can be said? It has to be one of the greatest pop tunes of all time. It has been reworked SO MANY TIMES and it always works. Although for the next tour I'm expecting the inevitable guitar treatment ;) lol

  7. One of her best shows ever. The two songs at the end will go down in history.

I can't at how much she has given us since February 3rd, 2012. We are sooooooo lucky.

And that mediafire audio file - I'm dying with happiness!!!

Everyone's really on edge since 2009. It's really sad, and pretty frightening. There's a level of verbal and physical abuse everywhere, from your job to your bus to a nightclub, that's just unacceptable. Let's all hope it doesn't all go to shit, like it did a hundred years ago...

  8. She's probably getting that yummy brahim salami

    lol amazing.

agreed that only hardcore fans would know about this show to begin with, let alone spend anything more than 20 euros to see her. so the whole meltdown I don't understand. However, I can see how they've been robbed. So yeah - one thing is reality, and another thing is reacting like entitled cunts.
