  1. The themes of the songs and the order in which she posted them make me think Heartbreak City and Love Don't Live Here anymore could be a mash-up of some kind, which would be incredible.

".....and it's not that pretty." 5 second pause. "just a vacancy..." Ugh YAS!!!

I'm NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO HANDLE THIS.

  2. Ive really been enjoying the album at a whole new level at summer. Always liked it but its way more amazing to me at the moment. I dont even know lol

I'm on the same boat! For the past month I've been really connecting with the album on a whole other level. Kind of like when the first six songs were released and I held on to them like little treasures (because we got them so early, and they were so good). It feels similar now.

For me, I think it has to do with the fact that the record is so diverse that you can make mini-EPs to suit different moods, and all of them will be excellent. The songs are great companions –– totally enjoyable, well crafted, and personal (or funny).

Also, by now I'm not holding on to the idea of what RH would've been, what it could, what it is, etc. We have so much material, and the vast majority of it is so good, that it doesn't matter anymore. Despite being so pop-oriented, the record feels really punk rock in that she did whatever the fuck she wanted and released it "all" for her fans to pick and choose. I feel like that part of the story behind the album makes me love it even more.

  3. That's awesome, much more than l expected and happy she gets for stats purposes. I would love to see another video for the song that incorporated all her controversies over the years with the different groups basically saying who do you think you are...from church to feminists, she has withstood so much. This would give the song a real narrative and explain the thinking behind it.....as well as educate some with a history lesson.

She'll do that when she releases Rebel Heart (remix) ;)

  4. I totally get what you're saying! That's why I put it in quotation marks. I think all of this Madonna is doing is something only an older, beautiful, well-established woman like Madonna could pull off. It's art at its finest and only a very mature artist could ever pull it off. Someone like Ariana Grande, although she's one of the flavors of the month and I personally like her probably doesn't know who Francis Bacon is and would just look ridiculous if she came out flashing her ass on the red carpet. There's an air of genius behind Madonna's stunt. Like the Britney / Christina / Madonna dyke wedding kiss. It was pure genius.

LIving for Love was a Francis Bacon painting that came to life. What's more graceful, intelligent and beautiful than that?!?!??!?! Some older woman singing piano version of her past hits? That's not graceful; that's predictable, boring and plain old conformism. And only Madonna could do that and then sing about golden showers a few songs later :lmao:

Yaaas, thank you for verbalizing it. My husband yesterday was watching the BIM video. He certainly loves Madonna now and adores RH, but when he was watching the video he said something like, "Isn't it strange that she's doing a song like BIM now and LAP when she was younger? Isn't supposed to be the other way around?"

And I said, "But Madonna was doing both kinds of songs then and she's doing them now. You already have LFL and GT. Why not BIM? What's so wrong about that?"

Direct credit goes to Madonnanation for helping come to terms with this :lmao:

  5. I've seen the three vids on a row on my big TV in HD. Ok. Simply INCREDIBLE. LFL remains my fav is what really artpop is, simply incredible. Ghosttown has such a beautiful photography and although lacks in rhythm and could have had a more dynamic storyline is so gorgeous, every frame is LUXURIOUS. And then comes BIM and you really get so happy to be a fan of such versatile artist, credible in every style. She really is the epitome of what pop means or at least what used to be and should be. What an incredible era.

  6. I couldn't leave GT and BShop out so they are included in album form.

Iconic, VVV, Best Night, Messiah, Holy Water, UB –– not included because I think the album versions are definitive. But since they aren't among my favorites either, I decided to not include them on this version.

I have always listened to Queen and Autotune Baby as part of the Super Deluxe so they don't qualify for me.

  7. The first single from RH that never was. They knew this was better than LFL and Ghosttown yet they letf it for a 3rd single. Idiots!

    1) BIM is not better than LFL or GT :lmao: Unless you're talking about dancing like a whore on a drunken saturday night at the local gay club. In which case, it definitely is.

    2) LFL made every bit of sense for a comeback single, plus the long awaited ballad that followed. It's exactly the kind of comeback supposedly casual listeners wanted, and that the media and fans asked for again and again and again. And she gave it to us. It didn't work out god knows why. The general consensus is that it had little to do with the songs themselves.

    3) There's no way of knowing how BIM would have fared had it been released first. Perhaps everyone would have crucified her and she still would have not gotten played. Perhaps the album would have been seen as a joke from the get-go and gathered even less support than it did.

    4) Also, just because the video is getting view counts it does not mean this is a proper hit. When the song is properly bought and streamed, then we can talk about an actual hit. For now, this is awesome exposure for a song that definitely deserves to be a hit... not because it's better than LFL or GT, but because it's as good or better than anything else that's "on the radio."

  8. Initially chose BIM but changed my vote. Hadn't watched LFL in a couple of months and it is simply ICONIQUE.

The initial 40 seconds of absolute Madonna and total perfection.

    The drama building up.

    The Kill Bill moves.

The chocking of the bull at the end.

It's only the coloring/filtering that could have been more subtle.
