I don’t get why we are all supposed to hate the eye patch all of a sudden? Lol

I feel like the eyepatch kind of wore out it's welcome already. We've seen a lot of it. I'm not bothered too much about it but can understand fans groaning about it.

To each their own 🤷‍♂️ Relatively speaking, the rauhofer mixes of American life sound like fucking ART compared to the fifteen years of shit mixes that came after that era. And we’re not talking about versions to use on tour, we’re talking about versions to use at a pride circuit party...in which case, we go back to the original album version of American life going over with an absolute thud in that specific context.

I agree. AL was the last era of good mixes. Confessions had a few good ones but they could have been better.

And yes, remixes would be appropriate for this event. I remember Whitney Houston did Pride 20 years ago and did remixes. The crowd ate that shit up.

Nope but then she also shouldn’t hold it against anyone if her message doesn’t go over with her audience the way she’d like it to

I doubt she will. I pretty sure she's oblivious to the Eurovision reaction or just doesn't care. Her choice of Pride songs show that.

I don't normally get overly excited over the thoughts of Madonna doing simple acoustic versions of her songs but I'd really love to see her do that with Crave. Just her on a stool with her guitar.....like Letterman '00.

This really is such a gorgeous song.

After seeing the rehearsal clip, I feel like this song works best acoustic. I like it way better that way.

Exactly! And yes I agree she is pissed to find that the songs she chose as teasers are not necessarily the songs the listeners think are the best and you know she is stubborn. This is why she will still be flogging future that was played to over 200 million people and still hasn't done as well as Gostoso or even Crave. She refuses to say mea culpa. Maybe I was wrong. I can just picture her saying we do not get it. We are not woke. LOL

I actually didn't connect with any of the previewed tracks. I feel that the wrong songs were chosen. There are so many better tracks that could have been chosen.

Yes and morphing into impressive instant

I was soooooo disappointed when Impressive Instant was cut from the Sticky & Sweet Tour. I can't remember what replaced it. Was it Hung Up? Anyway, I'm hoping tracks from Music and American Life are revisited on this tour...…… plus Candy Shop of course. 😜

Actually BIM on Jimmy Fallon made both the song and album shoot up the itunes chart. In Italy Devil Pray and Ghostown went number 1 and 2 on Itunes after her performance there. Ghostown even stayed in top 10 for a while.  The Iheart radio awards with Taylor made Ghostown rise up to the top 30 on itunes from oblivion. Also Ghostown got airplay because of it.

Performances definitely help when the alternative is not charting at all.

Oh ok. Thanks for the info. I guess it didn't make an impact that I noticed, so I thought it did nothing.

    Wednesday Update: Top 5 Albums
    1 Bruce Springsteen - Western Stars (44,139) *
    2 Madonna - Madame X (24,038) *
3 Lewis Capaldi - Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish (16,734)
    4 Bastille - Doom Days (13,782) *
    5 Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures (7,383) *

Was Bruce a big seller in the UK in the past? I'm shocked at these numbers. Even with the bad Eurovision performance, this doesn't add up. I blame Interscope. Ever since she left Warner, her presence in Europe has suffered.

Interview don't sell records, performances do.

Not true. As others have said here, she did a lot of live performances for Rebel Heart and it did absolutely nothing. No increased sales, no radio airplay, no buzz...…. zippo! As fans, of course we want to see her performances. But it's not really worth the effort if there's nothing gained in return. And it fact, it can backfire. Look at Eurovision.
