There was a contest in Madonna.com. Did anyone participate there?

I'll be both shows too! Campo Vip of course!

I think the dance/remix categories are now off limits to pop artists. I think they changed the rule this year to allow more underground dance acts to win. At least, that is what I read.
It was changed last year and some artists like Britney, Rihanna, Katy, Ke$ha and a lot more weren't allow to summit in the dance categories. Don't know what they consider a "Pop artist" and "Dance artist" since someone like Robyn was still able to summit there (and was nominated in a group full of DJ's). Still, "MDNA" is a pop album so is rightly summited in Pop. Remix categories are only for the DJ/remixers. No nominatios for Madonna there for sure.
And also interesting she didn't summit in the short video category. "GMAYL" was a really solid video and might have been a good chance for a nomination too.

Official Madonna Grammy submissions
Album of the Year - MDNA
Pop Album - MDNA
Record of the Year - Girl Gone Wild
Song of the Year - Girl Gone Wild
Best Pop Solo - Girl Gone Wild
Pop Duo - Give Me All Your Luvin (with Nicki Minaj & M.I.A.)
Nothing in dance, but that category has changed a lot last year and for whatever reason doesn't allow/nominate pop artists anymore. She also didn't summit Masterpiece anywhere (it would have been a better choice for Record, Song and Pop Solo than GGW and weird she didn't summit it in the "Song written for Visual Media" category after the Globe win)
Outside of Pop Album and Pop Duo, the others I think are almost impossible to get the nomination.

She should do "Everybody" intead of "Holiday"!

So that you know Showmatch makes more than 6 million dollars weekly from advertising alone (It airs 4 times a week, 2 hours in primetime). So speculations of her getting 1million from this are not that crazy.
-
Weird she is doing ShowMatch, but I wouldn't be surprise that they pay as much as 1 million dollars to be on the show since Marcelo Tinelli (host and producer) is a big fan and they pay well to guest stars. It will also help to the 3 dates in Argentina (two almost sold out and one still half sold) and it's a big show seen in several other countries like Uruguay, Paraguay and Chile.
-
The Northern America numbers do seem too low (she is going to do at least +10m from the 2 Yankee Stadium dates only). Also they say 44 dates for US and Canada when actually they are only 43. I bet on something like this.
Europe: $115m
US & Canada: $140
Latin America: $65
Total: $320

Peru, Venezuela and Uruguay have no chances after negotiations fell through.
If the Olympia gig gets good feedback (and really is somewhat different from the main show) she should try something similar in Brazil or Argentina. She would sell out that show in a heartbeat even with high prices and she has enough room to add a new date on those places.
-
Another one for Buenos Aires too. Saturday 15th December.
-
Yeah, I wonder if people complained about Confessions and the interludes (A remix of a song played a few moments before?) and only playing 9 old songs, two of them being Drowned World/Substitute for Love and Paradise (Not for Me) which were done not too long ago.
Personally, I feel the Confessions Tour is considered a great tour mainly because the amazing first and last segments. Everything in the middle is a boring mess.
-
So, it looks like the strongest and most "official" setlist so far looks like this:
PART 1 - TRANSGRESSION
1. Religious Intro
2. Girl Gone Wild (with Material Girl lyrics)
3. Revolver
4. Gang Bang
5. Papa Don't Preach
Best Friend (with Heartbeat lyrics) - Video Interlude
PART 2
6. Hung Up
7. I Don't Give A
8. Express Yourself (mixed with Born This Way and a She's Not Me ending)
9. Give Me All Your Luvin
10. Turn Up The Radio
Justify My Love - Video Interlude
PART 3
11. Open Your Heart
12. Masterpiece
13. Vogue
14. Candy Shop (mixed with Erotica)
15. Human Nature
Nobody Knows Me - Video Interlude
PART 4
16. I'm Addicted
17. I'm A Sinner (mixed with Cyber-Raga)
18. Like A Prayer
20. Celebration (Benny Benassi Mix)
I don't think this is a "short" concert (about the same in songs number as S&S). Still, the last section looks to be missing a song or two (please let it be "Everybody"). Sad not to see MDNA's Love Spent and Falling Free too.
Personally, I don't have the need to see a song from each studio album but if she is going to do Candy Shop and Human Nature AGAIN, they better be mindshatering versions who shit on their S&S versions.
-
That setlist is actually much stronger that the similar one posted before. Where did you get it?
I'm still not crazy about Candy Shop and Human Nature (and I hope Candy Shop is more Erotica than anything else) but I wanted Love Spent and Everybody in and I'm happy to see those again on the list.
The first and last section look very strong, but I feel the Carnival one looks so weird that I'm interested to see what she does there.
Also, what do the asterisks mean?

She will be lucky to sellout 2 River Stadiums with those prices. There is no high demand like in 2008 to see her and prices are way higher than expected. Field tickets, which is where more of the casual fans go, are almost triple the price from 2008. Several co-workers and friends (who went to Sticky&Sweet) told me already that they are not going with those prices.
I think this may open the oppotunity for her to do another country like Perú. I bet she does 2 Buenos Aires and 1 Cordoba, maybe one more for one of the cities, but not more. We'll see this Saturday when everybody in Argentina can start buying the tickets.
BTW those are Buenos Aires prices. This are Cordoba's:
VIP Package - $450
VIP Field - $225
Low and medium stalls - between $180 and $270
High stalls - $170
Field - $112
General - $65
-
Is that US dollars or Argentine pesos?
(I guess dollars)
US Dollars and I didn't include ticketek service which adds 15% to each ticket.
-
Argentina Prices
VIP Package - $475
VIP Field - $315
Low and medium stalls - between $200 and $360
Field - $145
High stalls - $90
General - $55
All prices more than double the ones in 2008. I don't think she will be able to sellout 3-4 shows in Buenos Aires (even more taking into account she is playing in Cordoba too).
I got VIP field tickets since I didn't get the difference between those and the VIP package (which only includes a gift and special entrance. No mention of the triangle pit).
-
Argentina price range: $55 to $475.
Does anybody know if the VIP package will let you be inside the triangle stage?
-
There is a good week in between the first Argentinean date and the Chilenean date... and 4 or 5 days in between that one and the second Argentinean date.
I think that definitely means a short 3-hour flight to Lima, Peru, for a date or two
But no, I'd be surprised if she does Venezuela, unless she's planning on spending the holidays down in S. America (which is possible, since she's going to Australia!!).
There is no room for Perú and Venezuela since she is likely to do 3 shows in Buenos Aires that week (13, 15 & 16th). But between Perú and Venezuela, I would say that Perú has 90% more chances for a show squeezed somewhere.
-
please let it be in River Plate!
Not only the River Plate stadium is bigger but also it's much better located (inside the city of Buenos aires). I know many friends and co-workers that told me that they aren't going if it is on the La Plata Stadium. Traveling there with or without a car is a pain in the ass and the sound is terrible.
-
Where the hell is Argentina?
Can't believe she skip them.
You can bet 15 & 16th December will be the Argentina dates. Maybe more... (12 and 13th)
-
1) Gang Bang
2) Love Spent
3) Turn Up The Radio
(a close 4th would be I'm Addicted)
-

The show was AMAZING even though she was clearly REALLY sick. Lots of little mistakes on the show too, some small sound problems in 3-4 songs (but overall the sound was still amazing), some of the little screens didn't work correctly in a few songs (I'm a Sinner mainly), she forgot some lyrics or started late like in "Papa Don't Preach" and some choreography errors in Vogue and other songs. She cried a lot and she coughed and clear her nose between songs.
But with all this happening, I thought the experience was deeper and more intense than I thought and I end up loving it. It really felt she was giving her best for us even though she felt like shit physically and emotionally. I thought she was cutting Like a Virgin / Love Spent for sure but she end up doing the best DCFMA rendition ever and an amazing Love Spent after that. I was dying to get in the Golden Triangle but I got a great view just in front of the triangle base and that also really helped my experience. Highlights for me were: Girl Gone Wild, Gang Bang, GMAYL, Masterpiece, DCFMA, LoveSpent, Like a Prayer and Celebration.
Some people were PISSED by the time (this must be her record for latest start of the whole tour) and my friends even though liked the show very much told me they are never going to a Madonna concert again during work days. People were really tired once the show started. But I don't care, this is easily Madonna's best tour ever.
