Yes, sort of ... Mensch said someone other than his usual source told him “the negotiation did not go well” and that it was looking unlikely. We were never told if it fell through, though. (Negotiations may have continued?) And yes, as Gus said, Mensch was still hopeful, because they haven’t announced the Sunday headliner, which is apparently when insiders were expecting her to perform.

Sorry, I know this almost exactly what Gus said, but wanted to clarify what I thought I recalled Mensch saying. It’s possible I missed a key update, though... I had several surgeries and was a bit out of routine for a couple weeks.

Thanks for clarifying that Peter! 🙂

I know we're getting closer and closer but this long wait plus the lack of concrete news is ridiculous...just give us something please!

PS: Hope you're doing ok with those surgeries!

One thing I‘m wondering...there was this one tweet a couple of pages back, with a fan asking the Eurovision account if M would perform and they responded sort of in that cheeky way...would they go out of their way to respond to a random tweet just like that? I was thinking it‘s a sign there really was, at the very least, some negotiating...I could be totally wrong, though.

Well yes, it was one of the main producers of the show who shared that she was about to sign and all that stuff about the millionaire 'donating' the money for her to perform so i'm pretty hopeful...

What did @Mensch say about the outfits? I remember smth about a jacket with fire on it? How those excessive jewelry prove the fire jacket?

He said she was going to use the 'jacket with fire' at "The Party" and he later added that she had changed her mind and was going to use one of those kaftan dresses she got in Morocco so he was 100% right.

About the video, he said some of the looks he saw were kinda 80's punk with lots of glam(or something to that effect),  and he also mentioned lots of jewlery.

I remember being a teenager reading her confirm, rather matter-of-factly, with a YES, that she had had multiple abortions (was it in QMag or Face mag in 1994). She was the first person I ever "knew" who admitted to having an abortion. She's my forever role model with zero shame, brave queen. I am a male and that was impactful so imagine the power that must have carried to a girl or a woman who felt shame or secrecy around having an abortion.

I felt the same, it was The Face and also Details magazine

She also discussed it in a tv interview for Sweden where the female reporter was pretty ruthless with questions about this subject even asking her how many did she have...

    imagine social media in 1989

“so was at the Vma rehearsal and saw A bit of Madonna routine she has shit hair and seems to be wearing a mans suit and some butch shoes and a cheap watch. Halfway  through she had a hand spasm or it could have been a routine . I’m worried about tonight”

So true...when RH came out MTV Latin showed the performance (including her introduction to George Michael), and some people on Twitter were bitching because she was smoking, claiming what a terrible role model she was for doing that in 1989...

  6. Madonna likely to perform at Eurovision in Tel Aviv

Canadian-Israeli philanthropist Sylvan Adams reportedly underwriting a Madonna performance at the May song contest

By JESSICA STEINBERG Today, 12:35 pm

It looks like Madonna will perform two songs at the Eurovision Song Contest being hosted in Tel Aviv in May, courtesy of philanthropist Sylvan Adams.

The cost will be about $1.5 million, according to Ynet.

“I can only say with much happiness that there is a green light from the philanthropist,” producer Dani Ben Naim told Army Radio on Sunday morning.

“Adams just wants to help the State of Israel with its foreign relations and we’ll sit with Madonna’s people to work on things, which all look good, and move it forward.”

Canadian-Israeli billionaire Adams has lived in Israel since 2012, and has funded several major projects, including the Giro d’Italia Big Start bike race that took place in the Jerusalem area last year.

He also recently donated $5 million to SpaceIL, the non-profit organization that is behind the initiative to land the first Israeli spacecraft on the moon.

Madonna last performed in Israel during the summer of 2012.

Why everybody praises the Superbowl performance? By miming from start to finish, She admitted She can' sing live. She could have stayed home and send a video instead. I hate It when She mimes, so unprofessional and take. She's no Britney, for fuck's sake! Just fucking sing It and do your thing!

99% of these types of live televised performances in huge stadiums are lipsynched to avoid any technical f*ck ups...

The live singing at the SB only started 4/5 years ago and after all the sound/mic problems the Justin Timberlake performance had last year, i wouldn't be surprised if they go back to pre-recorded sound this year...
