  1. This is all i found:

Cohen, who has made no secret about wanting to interview Madonna on WWHL, sat down with the Queen of Pop as she gets set to launch her Rebel Heart tour in September. Its the first time he has ever interviewed his favorite singerand no question was off limits. The two discuss everything from her setlist to her thoughts on Taylor Swift and Beyonce to why she loves using Instagram. Its an important part of my work now, she says of the social media platform. I like to think of it as a kind of art gallery for my thoughts, my dreams, my wishes, my state of mind. Cant ignore social media.

  2. I do think that there are so many live events now that there are too many to be sustainable and the acts that have toured frequently are suffering inc M, Take That and U2.

People want to see something new, exciting and, in most cases, they're a lot cheaper. Ed Sheeran sold three nights out at Wembley Stadium and it's just him with a guitar but people know it's probably the only time they'll go and see him and he'll be down the pan in a few years.

U2's tour is HUGE(8 shows in MSG, 4 in Chicago, 4 in LA, 4 in Vegas, just to name a few), and could end up being the highest grossing tour ever so whatever happened to M's touring power clearly hasn't affected them

  3. Sorry but RIT was packed with hits not because she wanted to play them but because it was damage control after AL flopping. She knew she had to pull out all the hits. She has said many times she hates playing MG but she included it in RIT.

    Exactly.

She also said "there's no way in hell i'm doing that song" when someone asked her to do Burning Up on MTV's On stage and on the record in 2003.

She also talks about what her fans expect her to deliver live or in studio versus her vision at min 32:00

  4. I'd need to look it up but she specifically called it dumb or retarded or something of that nature in an interview.

She's never said anything negative about WTG or TB AFAIK. Material Girl, yes. Not that I believe anything some MTripe member says anyway... Just like I don't believe that just because Madge referenced some lyric of a particular song on IG, that she's definitely gonna play it on tour.

She talked about Sorry and Cherish on the 2009 Rolling Stone interview i think.

As for TB and WTG, i remember her refusing to sing them for whatever reason at some S&S shows.

  5. The thing is, I enjoy the Sticky & Sweet DVD. It feels more like a natural concert, because only 2 shows were filmed. So, they didn't have as much footage to work with in the editing room. I think where the MDNA edit suffers is the fact that so many different shows were filmed and used in the final edit.

For the Rebel Heart DVD, she should just pick a venue where she only has 2 shows (preferably MSG, because it's about time we get a NYC show on DVD, although it's probably too early in the tour for them to be filming) and stick with that. Because let's face it, she's too much of a perfectionist not to take advantage of filming more than one show. So that would be the most realistic expectation. This way there's more consistency this time.

The filmed 4 shows for the S&D dvd, first 2 shows they did the general shots, last 2 days close ups.

  6. She never said she missed the actual sound of music from the 80's, it was more the community of other artists, how music was marketed and promoted, artistic freedom etc. The album was never intended to sound like the 80's. If anything a lot of Rebel Heart references her music from the 90's more than the 80's.

True, she even had Keith Haring artwork on the walls on the first couple of interviews

  7. ^ the Budget doesn't matter. Some of the greatest films of all time were made on a dime. As I stated, the worlds provacateur and guy macho movie maker removed the sexual politics that made the original fabulous. She should have done Goldie Hawns Overboard instead.

You say 'obviously' it wasn't her fault. Who's fault was it? Where would you place the blame?

You missed my point, i meant that i take SA for what it is, a small budget crappy movie good enough to pass the time...

Of course i agree with you about great movies with low budget, i just don't think she expected much from it, and i don't think anyone who went to see SA expected more than seeing her dancing in a bikinni, showing off her body, and playing a bitch...

And of course it was her fault as with TNBT and probably most of her movies...i meant Ruppeet Everett re wrote the script with her, and his acting is just as bad as hers...direction is bad too...everything about that movie was terrible...

And regardless of the budget and all, i really think she's had much worse movies and acting performances such as TNBT

  8. Swept Away is a tragedy. I wish she did it in like mid 90s. And I don't like her dialogue delivery.

I'm not saying it's good, i just think she really wanted to work with Guy, the movie had a minimal budget, if you see the making off special, you can tell that she had a good time while shooting it, it almost looks like a bit of work in the midst of a family vacation...so i take iy for what it is really...

I don't take that movie as seriously as the others so i don't really mind her acting, kinda like seeing her on SNL...

TNBT had big expectations, big premiere with A listers such as Julia Roberts, a cast with hot actors, a reknowned director...and it resulted in the worst movie of her career IMHO.

"Music of the heart" was intended to begin shooting in late 1998, right?

Who knows what would've happened had she chosen this role over TNBT...it's not a great movie but i would've prefered seeing her doing a darker carachter...

  9. There are some parts where the amazing graphics on the screens are not even seen, like the Monsters graphics on EY, or some of the incredible church/temple projections on GGW...this i don't underdtand...

I prefer all the stadium shots, particularly Paris and Buenos Aires, the LAV/LS stills where all shot by S Klein in Buenos Aires.

I also don't like when they use parts of the Olympia show...oh well

    The effects i don't mind...

  10. as daring as she was in her music career and videos, she really didnt take the same chances in film. even a film like The Next Best Thing was accused of trying to be Julia Roberts. i used to argue these things constantly saying, NO NO NO - but now theres really no denying it.

what was most shocking to me regarding her acting career is when her and guy remade swept away. hes known for his macho films and she as the worlds provocateur. heavy in the K, they get together and remove all the sexual politics that actually made lina's so marvelous. head scratching moment.

I don't mind Swept away that much as it was a low budget, with not that many expectations kinda movie...

TNBT on the other hand, probably her worst acting job ever, terrible script, dirrction, etc

It was her first movie post Evita, i couldn't believe how bad the movie was, she had the chance to gain respect as an actress/movie star...

Obviously it wasn't all her fault, i just think she should've picked a totally different kind of movie at the time, more in the vein of Dangerous Games perhaps...

  11. Yeah. Jean Witherspoon.

So the album versions solo is not niki?

It never sounded like Niki to me but everyone i've asked and everywhere i've checked credits niki harris...

Would love to read more about J. witherspoon's involvemnt!

  12. Found this Paris clip, the lightning is so much better!

Sorry i dont know how you embed from my cell!

I was looking for a news report from Paris, where they show bits of Express, it's the first show, right in the middle of the third chorus someone throws lots of cards right and she looks pissed and kicks them off stage.

    Edit: found it

  13. I much prefer the way she incorporates parts or sounds of different songs during a performance like GGW with Material girl and GI2M or the Vogue/4 minutes mash up, her shows usually have strong themes and are very theatrical, so unless the songs used in the medley fit that theme, i don't see her doing that...

The one time she did a medley, the 4 songs fit the theme of that segment perfectly and it felt like one continous performance...

I don't see her singing medleys of random hits just for the sake of it, maybe in a GH tour wich i'm not sure she'll ever be willing to do one
