This should have been The single. Its such a "Disco banger/stomper"

But they listed her 4,5 stars! And at least they had some arguments why. I think its a well balanced review. I hate the ones that praise the album throughout than rate it 3. No bitch, it must be 5 if u didn't complain. I m happy with the score and believe me, a lot of ppl outside of this forum (and maybe some in here) have problem with the autotune. I think its an artistic choice definitely here, but I think it would have sounded great without it also.
I remember how people absolutely hated her using autotune on Music and AL and later loving those albums
Now theres the added narrative that her voice is gone which is harked back to plain old ageism, im sure

So this ended up being a very good track! Recall the many meltdowns when it was first rumored she was collaborating with Anitta!
I defended the whore like a Joan of Arc

Batuka is one of the most intriguing songs, it's everything i expected when she started talking about experimenting with world music and Mirwais
I hope Madonna sticks with him for another album at least, they have powers together
+1

So, last time the complaining was about "chasing trends", now its "bizarre" and "using autotune to hide old broken voice"
Do they know how ridicilous that is?
-
I fear how this will chart

Sal has reviewed each of these Madonna albums for Slant Magazine, and here are their respective rankings:
Like A Virgin - 3.5/5
True Blue - 3.5/5
Like A Prayer - 4.5/5
Erotica - 4/5
Bedtime Stories - 4/5
Ray of Light - 4/5
Music - 4/5
American Life - 3.5/5
Confessions on a Dance Floor - 4/5
Hard Candy - 3.5/5
MDNA - 3.5/5
Rebel Heart - 3.5/5
Madame X - 4/5
These ratings are pretty accurate except I would chance all 4s to 5s.

I love the connection between Ray of Light and Madame X.
1. In ROL M used Hindu language as an inspiration
in Madame X it’s Portuguese and Spanish in several songs, not just the obvious ones like Faz Gostoso.
2. Both albums are very spiritual and cosmic. Extreme Occident actually has a part that sounded very ROL. Then there is Batuka, Come Alive, Looking for Mercy, etc.
3. Ray of Light is M’s 7th studio album. Madame X is 7th after ROL
4. Crave has a part which sounds like Mer Girl

It seems to be a horrible sacrilege, because Confessions is her celebrated best album since AL, but it's true: MX is so much better than Confessions, AL, Music and ROL.
It's weird... It's impossible... It can't be... Madame X is her best album since... Erotica, maybe since Like a Prayer...
M
Its true for me. But of course tastes differ
I personally prefer Latin Madonna and this album is pure Latin bliss and heaven
She really should get multiple awards for this work

God Im happy to still be alive to experience this masterpiece

This is the album I was waiting for since Erotica - it's life!
Its the best M & Mirwais album for sure
1. MX
2. M
3. AL
And its better than COADF and ROL.

Its Amazing.

I love it! Very catchy and could easily be a hit! It should have been lead single
It wouldve probably been a much bigger hit than Medellin
But I love Medellin too..
Well, it will smash at my own playlist

catchy as hell

Its very modern and very earthy at the same time
Groudbreaking, tbh.
