Brilliant Interview. The one thing that is noticeable is that Madonna is somewhat " sheepish" around Howard which is very unusal for her
Usually she is beaming with confidence in interviews with plenty of attitude and sass. It's actually endearing to see that Madonna herself can sometimes feel" intimidated" by others, which is a side we rarely see . I like that he asks her tough questions and Madonna answers them honestly, not some PC scripted Lady Gaga and Beyonce bullshit.

Is anyone else over the word "cohesive" when describing music. Just my view, but music should not have to have themes, be cohesive or have a concept. When you boil it down, having to be cohesive it the opposite of being organic. Adore how Madonna has created the music she wanted with Rebel Heart and made plenty of it.

Ray Of Light is a good album bar 1 or 2 mishaps ( see Rick Knowles thread
) but I never understood why it is seen as her "pinnacle" ( despite the so called "comeback") when we have LIKE A PRAYER!!!!!!!!!!!!!, seriously if people want a " mature themed" comparable album LAP is it, bar none! To this day LAP ( and Im Breathless) still remains fresh compared to her electronic albums because of the live instrumentation. All her electronic albums sound of a particular time and become outdated sonically, even ROL, even Rebel Heart will sound outdated in a few years ( but does not make it any less enjoyable, just won't stand the test of time like LAP )

The massive difference between Rick and Belinda and Patrick and Madonna is that Belinda didn't write or produce anything with Rick - he wrote primarily with Ellen Shipley (sometimes by himself) and he was the sole producer.

He worked with Kylie too! Well, he has worked with so many people and i can't recall a single time that it has been a wrong decision. But to be fair i would love it if Belinda Carlisle released a new album with him. Her last first single with Nowels was In Too Deep, which is so beautiful.
Oh, and i'm such a dork, i thought people were speculating about Beautiful Scars being written with Nowels, i didn't know it was official! OMG, we need those damned RH credits.
Rick and Belinda are like Madonna and Patrick, pure magic that cannot be replicated with others.
Unfortunately the 3 tracks he did for Ray Of Light are the worse 3 songs on the album, always skipped.
