I think that's just her being realistic. I love Madonna. I'm unemployed. Idk where the hell I'm going to get the money from, but I'm going to spend whatever it takes to get tickets and to be somewhere in the vicinity (I can NEVER get close tickets for some reason. It's nearly impossible and I applaud anyone who does, and would love tips on howto get them)
And the "busy with rehearsals"...you're right but hopefully she'll do interviews via satellite and when on break in NYC, takes advantage and does a few daytime and late night shows. She has the stamina. She has more stamina and determination than anyone else in the music business. I'll stay optimistic and just blame her lack of promo on Warner.

Payola! I'm sure that Interscope has some kind of deal with US radio stations.
I'm sure all this is due to multiple deals. LiveNation, Interscope, Smirnoff. It's smart that she finally left Warner because they were comfortably (and will continue to) make money off her without much promotion. Everyone in the business envied her and she just continued in her own little bubble. Now, she's outside that bubble and since (whether despised or not) she's respected for her longevity and experience/success, she can maneuver through her new deals and reach out for these connections for radio airplay (hopefully) and all this hype promotion without her having to even do nearly as much press as another artist I won't mention cause I'm tired of the comparison.
I do hope she does do a little bit of press after this and during the release and maybe during the last single release (even though I know it's a stretch.)

Absolutely. I think it's because I don't like when things sound childish (and the chant and repetitive chorus) sounds childish. I like the feel of it and really played out the Allessio Silvestro remix bu the original sounds, well like a demo from American Life sessions (not the lyrics but the feel, and yes I know that what we heard IS a demo.) I just don't like any of the nicki, Katy perry, Miley Cyrus, Britney shit that's on the radio and I feel like its because it sounds like something I would've enjoyed at 10 years old. Now I know, they buy more records than any other audience but come on its Madonna.
Anyhow, it's almost here and I can't say that I'm not excited! I don't care for the single but I'm going to love the video I'm sure.

Well, we know one thing for sure. If this single does not do well, we CANNOT blame lack of promotion!
Or we could just blame e song for being weak, but considering what's on radio, this could bea HUGE smash! I wouldnt be a good judge of character on that, so I do think this is my least favorite Madonna single ever. :/ I do like it...we'll see with the final version.

And what about Z100 station? Isn't Z100 the biggest station in USA and also the one that professedly would NEVER play Madonna's music?
I don't think they profess not playing Madonna, they just don't. They did play 4 minutes a little. Anything too gay or any classics are never played. They play what they are robotically sent to play....aka all the junk we hear and say, "how is any of this on the radio?" clearly the answer is, connections and if interscope is pushing Madonna, her getting AirPlay this year would be amazing!
The streaming of her video throughout Belgium and Europe trains and clear channel TV's ....that is just incredible.
Wish we had something similar and not JUST a countdown in NYC...anyone in the USA see any countdowns anywhere else? I'd love pictures of the countdown by the Lincoln tunnel and around the country or even worldwide. I love pictures of hard promotion for Madonna. It makes me feel like a little bit of the 80's crazes still alive moreso worldwide then in the USA but whatever. (I might not be able to see it til tomorrow when I go see W.E. unless I go see it tonight at midnight.)

I don't have a physical copy of it and I'm actually going to have to figure out how to do iTunes stuff on my icrap as I have no laptop at the moment. I mean to download the single legally. I had to suck some dick to hear it. ;-)
Luckily, now you can download it str8 to your iDevice through iTunes and it will just upload there. That's what I did with the W.E. soundtrack since my laptop has broken (unfortunately, I haven't gotten the booklet since I have to connect it to a computer.) There would've been no way I would've been able to deal with this Madonna-era without a way to receive music so I'm so thankful for my iPad and iPod touch! Lol
I'll have a MacBook by the end of the week and I'll be back in business.

Yeah I know. I'm sure it will be the official single but we may not get much of anything...it might be a preview teaser to make people watch it Friday and buy the single...marketing...

I think it sounds different than the demo...not a *huge* difference,but it has definitely been re-worked a little.
Well, yeah I'm not saying its going to sound exactly the same. It'll be more polished and of course have MIA and Nicki but the chant sounds the same, which I don't really like cause it sounds tacky. I thought MIA would be doing the chant so I thought it'd sound different. Anyway, maybe her people told American Idol to use the demo so she can keep the official track under wraps til Friday morning. I wouldn't be surprised if thats the case.

They just posted an American Idol commercial on Drowned Madonna and it previews GAYL...omfg it sounds exactly the same (the bridge and chant at least) ...can anyone confirm if they saw that on TV or if MAYBE that's just a fake that was edited with the demo?

I'd hope that they'd take away the tube like effect for the regular edition and it would just be a new Madonna (first album) kind of image, with the special edition being the one we already have in 3D...

This is all too good. The last few days have been amazing and the best has yet to come. I just can't. My heart is pounding, I've never been so excited in my life and I've never been THAT excited about Madonna. Tomorrow I have an exam and I could barely study anything these days, especially today when the first thing I saw when I woke up was that incredible album cover. I can't stop looking at it. I'm pretty sure I'll fail the exam. Oh Lord

I don't listen to the radio ever but I was in my friends car and it was either Z100 or KTU and they were mentioning Madonna and they played a clip from the demo...it was interesting. It sounded nice on the radio, actually.

Anybody else curious to see if they have any MDNA commercial spots like they did with Conefessions and Hrad Candy? I think it'd be awesome if they had 1-3 different 10-15second commercial spots.
A late night, after hours spot showing the making of MDMA and then the M drops and the it unfolds to MADONNA MDNA and a DNA related spot. I think it would cause a bit of controversy and still it would be interesting.

I'm just surprised though, since Madonna, MIA and Lady GaGa are all under Interscope, that MIA (at least her) can say negative things about GaGa.

MIA has been very adamant about how she feels about Gaga and in fact, I believe she's used it for publicity and to her favor, has now joined the Queen to further talk shit about Gaga.
And I must add that the only reason the backlash with Madonna happened was because the fans felt threatened by the Queen and MIA is no threat since she's stayed under the radar of pop music for quite some time.
